Really loving those experimental games in approval. The gravity sphere is really fun!

Of course everytime I see a key I'm on mobile :(

And then they were all taken :wavey:
Holy shit those went fast
It sucks that due to timezones, I'm always fucked. :v:
Seriously though, what's the status on Linux versions of the prototypes? Are they just not tested? Isn't Unity supposed to be able to just spew out Linux/OS X versions? Or do they simply not work at all?
Space Usurper is amazing, music is awesome. I'm really not into bullet hells but that was a great prototype. Felt really polished. I feel like there was a little too much drift in the movement but maybe I just wasn't used to it. That final form is nuts, I dont know how I'm gonna beat it. Is it just me or is the Bacteria Town prototype not working properly? None of the controls seem to work and last I saw of it the green things were round blobs, not cubes. Garry posted a video of it a while back but I can't find it now.
I swear there's some sort on conspiracy going on here. Every time I'm watching intently, this thread is 100% quiet. Then I spend an hour away and it turns out a few dozen keys get posted and I miss them.

Remember the system for giving out the Gmod 13 beta? I wish they brought that back... [editline]13th October 2015[/editline] e.g. You click a link and it happens
The Gmod 13 beta testing was arguably more important to have than these test keys imo. Hence the larger stockpile of keys and more realistic fashion of acquiring them
i got one of the keys while i was banned thanks
I love how there is hardly any decent critique in this thread, which was the whole point of doing this. Since I'm into game development, I'd love to QA the shit out of these builds, but unfortunately they're all going to people who just want a freebie.

Some actual feedback though: - I played Revolver. I was shooting the invisible things but I ran out of bullets. I don't really get it. - I tried out Borderline. I kept dying and I don't know why. I have no idea what to do. - Pressure chamber is kinda tough. I'm not really sure what to do except just run to the right and collect coins if possible. - Transposer has a neat mechanic, it's confusing as fuck though trying to figure out how the swapped-out-areas are all connected. I guess that's part of the challenge but it just feels like guesswork to me at the moment. - At first I didn't get the point of Laser Grid, what I was supposed to be doing. But damn it escalated quickly. - Does anyone have any strategies for beating the final form in Space Usurper? It's hard as fuck. And what's the name of the song? And where did you get the song? Also, can you get Bacteria Town working? I really want to try it out. [editline]13th October 2015[/editline] Some explosive pixels in the ships in Space Usurper would be a neat mechanic to try out. [editline]13th October 2015[/editline] Or maybe some projectiles that can be shot and destroyed.
Any chance in reviving facewound? Of all the time I had to play today, I had the most fun with that one. I can post detailed critique on that one tomorrow.

You basically just stick to a corner and keep shooting the center. Try to avoid the projectiles but move as little as possible and when you can, adjust your aim to keep shooting the center. After a while you'll have beaten it. The last level is probably the hardest but honestly the least interesting in my opinion since it's just a cube and not an interesting shape like the other levels.

So what's the general purpose of arcade? What is your vision? I have some critique but I'd like to hear what arcade is supposed to be all about before I throw in my opinions. Also some of the smaller scrapped stuff might be good to use in the arcade, like that cheesy mspaint on rails shooter.
space usurper final boss is a bit easier to get through if you understand that you can slice sections off by cutting them completely off from the core. I found I can start the fight off and get 75% through to the other side, cutting from the bottom across the edge of the core. The bullets become way easier to dodge after that point, and you can get off to a side and start cleaving off the other weapons. [t]http://i.imgur.com/17G4mri.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/2MCjWr2.png[/t] I'm really reminded of Fraxy back in the day, was very stylish and a lot of the bosses people cooked up were similar in principal to SU, with layers of fortified walls and whole sections breaking off if you destroyed their only connection to the main body of the ship, weapons firing in set patterns or toward player location, and so on. [media]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrBSxOETZKo[/media] My current gripe is that the progression of bosses felt out of order, #4 and 6 were really tough to crack compared to ones before and after, though going back through I have a better idea of how to declaw them faster than not. Final form is a little too spammy and suffers some lag after a few seconds of spawning projectiles, and blowing off a section like I mentioned can shake you around so hard that you can't see what you're doing for half a second, which is pretty bad when you're faced with that dense of a field to dance around in
The concept behind Space Usurper is pretty solid, it just needs a bit more depth. It's the best game in Approval that I can see going further than just a little play thing. Shiny Sphere, Laser Grid and Transposer have potential too.
So is that it for now? No more keys?
[QUOTE=Pelf;48896949] - I played Revolver. I was shooting the invisible things but I ran out of bullets. I don't really get it.[/QUOTE] In revolver your gun has a laser, hold in space to gain speed and hit the green circles with the laser, that is how you get more bullets.
For Arcade I would love the option to have a pop out screen versus the on screen one. Maybe somehow incorporate that so others can watch you play with ease. In terms of gameplay, will there be more to the game than just "play a bunch of random arcade games with other people". I wouldn't mind more options besides arcade games, like different types of games like this as a side attraction or a fun physics based game: [t]http://www.negative-g.com/zonkers-fun-center/Zonkers-2-28-2009-2.jpg[/t]
Need an air-hockey table :v:
Is it just me or is "Create Room" not working in Arcade? And what's the difference between that and "Join Room"? [editline]16th October 2015[/editline] How would I set up a game for just me and friends?
Is handing out keys still a thing or did it stop?
