Grabbed the second one

I solved the very last one and took it. Thanks for being so clever in preventing bots from taking them.
Thanks got PRtongue8ear-8PAtwodotsL-Rfourdots3nosetongue!
Thanks for the feedback on the Approval games, fun to read. I agree Revolver is too slow and boring. I can't remember what I wrote about Laser Grid but I just gave up on finishing that one. I do think it'd be fun to do something more with Space Usurper. I at least want to draw some more enemies (because they're basically just made by doing pixel art), but I used a weird format for storing the data and I can't be arsed to refresh my memory of it right now. I wanted the movement to feel shitty when you get farther away from the enemy to encourage you to stay close. Basically the closer you are the more dangerous it is, but the more mobility you've got. I remember trying out bullets with trails to indicate movement direction... I think I used plain squares because the trails looked nasty in such low rez with the camera moving around... might have just been too slow though. I made it with a little pixel framework in unity that was really quick to make stuff with, but performance wasn't great: http://rylgh.com/pixelshitter/ If you liked Borderline try this version instead: http://rylgh.com/borderline/ Works a lot better in the small rez, I like how panicky it makes me feel. What's the "survival mechanic"?
Snagged up the first code, i'll try to give some critiques and rile up discussion.
Got the 4 one, god damnit I was trying to decode this with unicode at first...
ShinySphere LP: It seems like I'm the only one that has no idea what I'm doing. Flinging myself into orbit by way of boosting gravity is fun, but the intended game play is not only clunky but much too difficult for a "high score" type game. I have to agree that this is probably due to the choice of it being in 3D. It's really really hard to orient yourself, especially once you start gaining momentum. I think this game could be interesting if instead it focused on flinging yourself onto other planets (the red balls). Trying to get out of your original planet's orbit and into the next seems cool in the first person perspective. Revolver: Let me see if I've got this right. You spin at a constant speed and have to shoot baddies as you spin around to them. Then there are yellow lines that pop up(??) and you have to wait until they get really bright, and then you can shoot them for 2 points? I kept dying and I don't understand how those lines that pop up work. Are they the ghosts of the enemies I killed? I wish I knew what was going on. Borderline: This one I really enjoyed. It's like a new age Snake but you have to run through the lines at the border of the screen (nyehhehh "border lines"). I like how you bounce off the wall instead of just getting stuck to it, that bit adds a perfect amount of variance to the game. Highly replayable. That being said, I could only get to 11 points before I inevitably ran into one of the plungers making its way across the screen. Wish I had more time to play the rest but I'll post some thoughts on the other Approval games later today!
how do you even solve that emoji stuff
Hey, I wouldn't mind helping out and giving some insight, but I'm not around enough to keep track of this thread. If you got a key can I get it PMed please? If someone does then thanks in advance. If it can't happen, then idm, I'm just offering to help lol.
how do you even solve that emoji stuff
I was guessing something like each of the pictograms represents the first letter of the word it shows and for the dots, count them and see what their total is. Like, the first key: EJ95B-5V5KX-EAQCT
ShinySphere LP I really enjoy this short game but like i just said that is all it is, i cannot really see how this could be expanded on into deeper/further gameplay but perhaps that is all that it needs to be, a simple game. I enjoy the audio a lot of the game and once i got the hang of it i started to enjoy it but i had no real feeling that it was getting harder/tougher as time went on. + Once you understand it, it is a fun game and short game. - After reaching the score of 230 (about 15 minutes of playing i think) i got bored of it. Adding different power ups (some kind of power up that shoots a laser down to the planet, killing all orbs in between the player and orb), enemies (special balls that you need to hit multiple times?). Revolver Took a while to get the hang of it, this one was a bit.. Slow and boring, shooting the stripes was difficult and i first got killed by it since i had no idea if i had to shoot it or how to kill it, i kept trying to line up my laser with the line but that had no result till i figured i had shoot it a bit before it would match mine laser, it wasn't really my game in the end. If things were a bit faster and without the stripe enemies i would have given it another chance. + Different bullets and the shooting of the orbs was pretty fun. - The game moves all far too slow, even with holding space down. - The stripe is very annoying and really fun to shoot down. Also for the fact you are not getting any bullets from it. Borderline HD Took me some time to figure out what everything was. Quickly i learned the red things are destroying you and that the red lines were signs one would appear from that direction, eventually i also figured that the purple background was my "life time" that i had to increase with the purple lines on the side. Eventually i had a bit of a tactical thinking going on since i could not hit the purple line as there was a red thing in the way, it was pretty enjoyable. + Lets you think a bit before you put down that ball into the line since there could be a enemy on your way out. + I like the life time idea in the background. - The very pixelated look did confused me here and there, guessing the HD part was a joke? :v: - A score counter within the gameplay would be neat instead of after the game. Archeology Could not play the game, controller required or anything? Pressure Chamber I like it, i guess the levels were random generated? If not, oh well. But the game was enjoyable, the whole thing that you must quickly both get as many coins as possible + make sure you don't hit anything while the switch initiates gives it a nice challenge. I can see potential in here. Perhaps a theme with a man trying to escape a Armageddon of fire that is behind him? + Fun gameplay, does not make you furious for losing thanks to its random new levels. + Controls are smooth/ + Tactical thinking makes it fun, both for finding out how to escape the room and on how to collect as many coins as possible. - Certain moments were nearly impossible to get out from. Renegade: Action Commando Played the living shit out of these rail shooter games back when flash games were the hype. For me it was really fun to play a game like this, on top of that i liked the art style and for the fact [sp]that you had to kill nazi's and eventually hitler[/sp] + The aiming felt loose and nice. + The extra detail of shooting someone (the flesh) was a nice addition. Transposer A very confusing game, not much progress as well. Quickly figured the concept of the moving squares but finding the coin all the time was not really rewarding at all. + Graphics were cute and simple. - After getting a coin 6 times it got really confusing - It was hard to memorize my route since if a square appears next to it i am already lost. - The trial and error approach quickly became quite boring after you ran into one of the moving enemies quite quick. Space Usurper Well that took me a damn hour but FINALLY i beat the final form. Man that was painful.. But fun! Although there are some design issues with the previous forms, i really love this game. I think this one is my favorite, the different forms, block strength, shooting motion of the enemy and that ability to destroy their canons for taking a tactical edge against defeating it really adds up. Also for the fact that every shot "counts" because all blocks need to be destroyed anyway in the end. + Fun, addictive gameplay. + Music was really nice, kept me going. - No score/retry counter? - The difficulty jump between the form before the final one and the final one is far too big. Bacteria Town A interactive movie, just like MGS 4. 10/10 my favorite But seriously, i pressed everything but nothing moved or happened besides the guys starting shooting the green stuff. - Terrible plot Laser Grid Played it for 15 minutes and still had no idea what exactly to do. If it was just avoiding things then i guess i somewhat did a good job, no idea what the boxes were with the white shapes. +- Ehh.. No idea Candy Worm Well that was fun actually. I enjoyed this quite a bit because of the visual effects that made me think i was actually playing it on a CRT monitor which was really cool. Other then that the gameplay is simple and fun, collect the blue berries, avoid the red berries, use the rings to destroy the red berries and grow as large as you can. + Fun gameplay + Lovely CRT monitor effects, they also hinder the player which i like Top 3 1. Space Usurper 2. Renegade: Action Commando 3. Candy Worm
ShinySphere LP I thought this was neat! It took me a minute to understand how everything worked exactly, but I got the hang of it. I found it's actually best to just not bounce too high and to just lightly hit the balls when they get close. It becomes really easy that way. It also became pretty boring after a few minutes. I really don't see how you could expand beyond what's there aside from things like power-ups or different kinds of balls or something. Revolver Too slow, and pretty boring. For a while I thought there was some kind of error making the enemies invisible, then I realized they were just the lines. Aside from speeding it up and making it more apparent what's going on and improving the art, I don't see how this could be really be improved. Borderline HD The purple lines that you have to bounce off of don't really extend your "life" that much. Controls felt floaty and the bounce got annoying at times, but I got used to it after a few tries. And overall it was just kinda bland imo. I like the name tho, zingy. Archaerology Pressing A does nothing! Pressure Chamber I like the idea, though I feel like I've played it before. Aside from the switching thing, there's nothing really going for it. It felt really smooth and responsive, though, so that's nice. Renegade: Action Commando Aside from the amazing art, it seemed like it was just another rail shooter. That's not necessarily a bad thing, I used to enjoy them a lot. It also annoyed me how it automatically switched weapons. Transposer I really liked this one. I feel like the background should have been something other than a soft gradient, made it harder to tell where everything was unless it was a border square. I also had a hard time figuring out where the coin was sometimes, it's not very eye-catching. Space Usurper Liked this one, too. Could have lived without the constant pull towards the alien/form/whatever in the center. I also lost my crosshair a few times, but that tends to happen in any game like this. The difficulty seemed to spike drastically with each new form. I could see this idea being expanded upon, like new ships or weapons or some form of upgrade. Bacteria Town I couldn't figure out what to do! Laser Grid I also liked this one. Avoiding the lasers while pushing the boxes around and blowing those up and avoiding the lasers those fired, it was really chaotic and I enjoyed it! I'm apparently in the minority with that opinion. I couldn't figure out what some of the boxes did, though. Candy Worm It's snake with hazards and annoying screen effects. Pretty simple, and I was able to understand what everything did pretty quickly. But I wouldn't play it again. Arcade I couldn't get beyond the menu. Nothing would load. Facewound I remember playing this and the spiders pissing me off. When replaying it, the spiders pissed me off. Bring back Facewound (including the spiders).
Pressure Chamber: Fun little platformer. World changes every time you die which is cool. I really like the way you can walljump and how some levels required you to do it to get around. The controls are really really tight and pleasant to use in terms of the arrow keys, which is an incredible feat for a platformer like this. Renegade: Action Commando: Easily one of my favorite games out of the bunch. Remember Bush Shootout on Miniclip? Maybe not. But this game gives me a flashback to the age of 2D Flash-based FPS games and boy do I love it. I think there's an incredible amount of potential with this game and really don't have anything bad to say about it other than it should have been longer! Transposer: Interesting concept, as each tile stays the same yet gets moved and rotated around the playing field. However, I don't know just how far you could go with this theme before you hit a brick wall. I can't really think of anything that would entice me to play this game for longer than a few minutes at best. It's fun, but only for a short time. Space Usurper: Great bullet hell game, but being tethered to your enemy sucks. Dodging my way around bullets only to find out I'm at the end of my virtual rope and can't dodge anymore, only to have a red block launched right into my face is not fun at ALL. Plus, that makes no sense. Why would I be tethered to the thing I'm trying to kill? Wouldn't it make more sense if the playing field was just the size of the screen, with the enemy in the middle? Then you could free fly but still be confined to one area. I played up to the 7th form and then quit because the difficulty was stupidly high for having to be tied to the thing. Needs some game play changes for sure, but shows an incredible amount of potential. [editline]21st October 2015[/editline] Facewound: Kicks ass, as it always did, and always will.
ShinySphere LP and Space Usurper were my favorites. ShinySphere LP got too difficult for me, I got to a score of 360 before I was being hit by about 3 red balls at a time. Space Usurper was great. I tried it once and quit because I didn't understand it, I thought it was just something like Super Hexagon where you have to get in the right position. After I figured out how to play it, I spent an hour or two beating it. I agree that the difficulty jumps were a bit extreme, but it just made me want to beat it more! I would love it if you released a tool to create enemies. Renegade: Action Commando was fun too, in a silly way. It was satisfying going back through and just tearing up people with the Uzi. Arcade is pretty interesting, I'm excited to see where it goes. I do wish the room creation worked though.
Jesus guys you're making me feel like a wasteman for grabbing one of the first keys and not posting a review all this time. Hold up, I'll get on it.
Renegade: Action Commando, is definitely my favorite, it's just damn cool.
I'll get a key one day, I know it :suicide:
ShinySphere LP It seems like a good game mechanic but it becomes daunting and a bit nauseating after a while. Revolver I didn't really understand this game at all, seemed very slow. Borderline HD Might be OK for an arcade game but it definitely doesn't make me want to play. Maybe if the edges increased your time left a bit more than they do now it'd be a bit better, but it's still too generic. Archaerology Enjoyed this, I'd love to see more powerups. Only problem is for some reason the number of fire arrows kept increasing and it got really laggy and unplayable. Pressure Chamber Frustrating and it seems more luck based than skill, didn't enjoy it. Renegade: Action Commando It's a really standard rail shooter, but I ended up playing it all the way to the end. It could definitely be extended upon since rail shooters are always fun, maybe some better sprites though! Transposer Enjoyed it and would be a very good game to have high scores in, I could see myself playing it a lot since it's skill based. Space Usurper Best one. Creating your own enemies would be amazing. I love the fact that you can come up with loads of ways to efficiently kill the bosses, like the last one I tried so many different ways and then I realized you can just cut off the sides in 20 seconds and kill it that way. The gravity mechanic is also really interesting. Crosshair is very hard to find sometimes though. Bacteria Town No clue how to play. Laser Grid Bit generic to be honest, it was alright to play though. Don't have too much to say about it. Candy Worm Second favorite. Loved the crazy shaders, would be great for the arcade. Arcade I've already talked about this one before. Huge potential. Facewound Fucking seagulls.

Yo! Looking to get Space Runts onto prototypes soon and get some feedback! Here's a bossfight I started working on yesterday, still rough, but I'm having fun with it. [vid]https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/files.facepunch.com/adam/2015/October/22/timmyturrets1.mp4[/vid] And here's some keys, because I know that's all you're looking for really ;) 6QLBD-8KNJZ-749B5 MZCL0-GHF3K-AR488 D4ECM-LYXGW-2MJYB QTLGA-M6ZVA-37BPA P7XZP-59LKQ-V2760 Edit: Meh, that video came out massive. Also, just remembered, that's not my music, I borrowed it from another game (Assault Android Cactus, which is awesome) and will be taking it out now :D
Runts?
P7XZP-59LKQ-V2760
Nabbed this one. Yuss Edit: Are details about this supposed to stay in this thread? Tried finding a post saying if yes or not.
Woohoo! Grabbed the 3rd one: D4ECM-LYXGW-2MJYB
Of course they're gone already
Steam crashed right when I put the second key in. :saddowns:
Runts?
Used to be Cunts
Man less than four minutes in text and all the keys are gone. Damn bots :v: [editline]Edited: [/editline] Also space runts looks badass. Reminds me of a 3d geometry wars mixed with bullet hell type of game.
ShinySphere LP Neat game if a bit disorienting. Revolver Instructions unclear, shot green balls without effect. Borderline HD Movement too pixely for my tastes. Combining the grid-based movement with the faster bounceback from the panels started getting annoying. Could be alright, decent idea. Might be better if it didn't feel so grid based. 6/10 pixels Archaeology Was fun but would be nice if the powerups appeared more scattered throughout the screen. Was too clustered in the center in my opinion. Wouldn't let me use Keyboard/M when the controller was plugged in. Pressure Chamber Simple enough. It was ok. Renegade: Action Commando Fun yet short. Only guy that gave me any sort of issue was the steel mask. Could be longer. Transposer Got lost and died to something on the edge of a panel. 8/10 Space Usurper Was fun. Frustrating at first because I thought you had to shoot the blue things to destroy them, figured out by the 8th level that you can shoot the bits off to cut the things from the main boss before getting to the red bit. Second favourite. Bacteria Town Unstructions unclear, pressed enough buttons to shut down PC Laser Grid Simple enough, it was ok. Candy Worm Little twist on the Snake game. TV fizzled and I died. 8/10. Facewound Love the blood effects, favourite one.
What's the "survival mechanic"?
I assume he's talking about how the game's screen "ticks" to the right every so often, forcing you to constantly move.
Some more keys if you haven't got one yet.
G6WZN-VEN0L-Q0N6N CH6WA-JK2QR-7NTJJ 27WCC-45DT2-4B7GP R6CKA-EQYWY-GD5E9 NAW5T-00G44-Y8LJ7 Z9Y5Q-B8Y5R-NLZZC K6ZBJ-WY2Q6-TPT2J 3HVPG-9VYG3-BG2VM
If anyone is wondering about Arcade, the server is down but I'm working on getting the arcade tech into my prototype and I can't wait to put it on here for people to try.
