Keyboard and mouse support yet?
Is there any chance of you guys adding keys? Me and a couple of friends want one to try.
Yo.
I've just pushed a minor update to the steam build of space game:
- some bug fixes (mainly the lighting toggling when flying between outdoor rooms)
- slightly different player movement (shouldn't feel too different, but will help when I get to adding keyboard controls - feedback on this change would be appreciated. Better/worse/not really different. Hoping for the last one)
- I've also increased the cooldown on most of the abilities as they're a bit OP.
Cheers.
Damn, can't wait to see Wiseguys in the prototype.
Keyboard and mouse support yet?
I've started thinking about it at least ;)
Aw damn, wish I found out about this sooner. Would have loved to try the Arcade demo thing.
I like all the updates to Space Zunts and Deuce but where are the updates for Space Usurper
I should probably point out to my above post that, if you get a key, this is for bug testing, playing through for improvements or fixes or negative stuff that you like or dislike or would like changed, this isn't just to have fun, its to help the dev's make a cool game.

Fuck yeah, I can't wait! :joy:
How's work on arcade coming along?
Last I heard of it, there was a neat little mapping system in the works.
I wish I could give it a try, been trying to get a hold of a key, but my graveyard shift work hours are killer.
Arcade looks really fun. I think I'll watch over for the next batch of keys to come out.

holy shit
I hope it still has that arcade explosion slowdown because it was awesome
I'd really love to test those dev builds, but it seems that I have to wait and watch till the next batch of keys is coming :(

Any news? ETA?
Sorry for bothering, I just wish I could play.

I wanna release it soon so I can get some feedback (and I really want to see what kind of levels people make), but I also want it to have enough features and polish for it to be interesting right away.
A few more features I need to add, some design I need to rethink, some polish, sounds & music.
Not sure about ETA yet, hopefully just a couple weeks. Keep bothering me so I post about it more.

This thing looks neat. Is it going to be in the Prototypes?

Yo!
Just a quick update. I've mainly been working on adding mouse + keyboard controls to the game, as a lot of people were asking for it.
It turned out to be shit loads more work than I expected, for a bunch of reasons - but I think the first attempt at it is pretty much ready for some initial feedback now.
I'm just waiting for Unity to fix all their fuckups in the latest version and I'll do a new build for Steam and a new blog.
Here's a quick video of me playing with mouse + keyboard for now.

Cheers!

Yeah, the whole UI is placeholder. I'm gonna wait until we get a real UI sorted first so I don't have to redo it all twice. I hate doing UI.
Sorry for the late feedback, i was busy with grad school and shit.
Approval branch games:
I mean no disrespect but i'm not sure if i "got" most of the games here. The entire time i felt like i was at some hipster art show if that makes any sense. Also, i don't see myself or the 'hardcore gaemrs' playing any of these games. For most of them i was like 'o cool' but after 10-15 mins i was done with them and don't think i'll ever go back to them.
- Shinysphere LP: Cool but for like 10 mins but then got repetitive. Not sure if the long wind up at the beginning where you don't do anything is necessary.
- Archaeology: Has anybody managed to survive for than 2 mins? The bow doesn't do nearly enough damage, the crates are few and far in between and you're constantly surrounded by 100 bullet spongy enemies.
- Renegade action commando: Actually really liked this one. I used to love rail shooters as a kid and i replayed this a couple of times. I liked the attention to detail as well, how different guns behaved differently and how you could shoot the enemies in the hand and shit or their face multiple times. However, i didn't like how the hitler level messed with your control. I thought that was just cheap.
- Transposer: I was pleasantly surprised by this one as well. I thought it was just another artsy collect the coins thing with some deep message but the interaction with the squares was pretty cool.
- Space Usurper: Pretty fun. The controls could be more precise and less floaty though.
- Candy worm: classic snake with some twists and flashy over the top graphics. Don't know what else there's to say.
Just didn't get the other games.
Arcade: Couldn't join the servers or anything. The arcade game itself is ok i suppose but i felt the control were a little too loose and imprecise.
Deuce: I actually liked this one. I generally don't like tennis games but i thought this game is pretty well done and i could see myself playing this with friends as a party game. The graphics are cool, art style is nice. Don't really have a suggestion other than some specials were kinda underwhelming.
Facewound: I really thought about this one. Facewound is super fun but i didn't understand why. It's ugly as shit (no offense garry), generic zombie outbreak bullshit so no story, weak level design, samey enemies and without cheats/mods it takes a lot of time before you can get new weapons. BUT it's super fun and i think it's because of the satisfying gun play. The guns feel powerful and you get immediate feedback from the enemies (blood spraying everywhere, limbs/heads flying off, etc) when you shoot shit. So, i think keep the gunplay the same but expand gore, blood and physics objects and make the levels more interesting?
The last 2d side scroller i played was broforce. It has 20+ characters all with unique weapons and abilities, fully destructible levels, and it's funny too and it still managed to get tedious and repetitive near the end of the game. Keeping these 2d side scrollers fun and fresh is not a trivial task but i believe in you garry.
Musicbox: Sorry, i opened this up, had 'nam style flashbacks to gmod's wiremod and closed it immediately.
Skytest: Blindly bright, like a nuke went off or some shit when you're looking at the sun and things suddenly turn dark as soon as it's out of view. Some balance would be nice. I should be able to tell where the sun is without having to look at it.
Spacerunts: I never liked twin shooters so i feel like i'm not qualified to comment on this game but for what's it worth, I felt the game was too slow paced for a twin shooter and lacked weapon variety and half of the time i couldn't tell whether the game is going to be a rogue-like or some story driven twin shooter.

Yo! Cheers for trying it.
Yeah, the pace can be a bit hit and miss in some places at the moment, this should get better as we fill out the rooms/areas with enemies better. Some are completely empty at the moment.
I agree about weapon variety. I'm working on the whole weapon setup this week to make it easier to add weapon specific effects and stuff, which'll make it really easy to add new weapon types. Thanks for reminding me and moving it up the list of things to do ;)
I'm kinda glad you're not sure if it's a roguelike or a story driven game, as that's exactly what we're aiming for, somewhere in the middle. Both bits need to be stronger though.
Would be awesome if you get chance to keep checking out the future updates - people who don't normally like shooters are exactly the people I wanna try and win over ;)

Sure, will do. A game called space grunts was added to steam today btw.
All of these look super rad. I'm glad to see something besides gmod and rust in relation to facepunch.
Holy shit, I am WAY too late to this party. Any info on when there will be new keys?
Yo!
Spaceshooter is now called Troubleshooter!
It's got a new website, with a new blog post and there's also 2000 more Facepuch Prototype keys available.
And a new build of the game!
Check out http://playtroubleshooter.com/2016/01/22/troubleshooter for all the cool stuff!
Cheers!

And how do we get these said keys? I have a uncanny ability to run into bugs and utterly break games.
Cheers on the keys, I'll be sure to give Troubleshooter and the prototypes when I get home from work
