Killing Floor v8 - Come Out, Come Out Little Pigs!

Oh man crossbow and lever rifle is coming back. Can't wait to get sharpshooter, finally a class more dedicated to wasting damned fps and scrakes. I think once sharpshooter gets introduced I'll finally play more and level up my classes. It's gonna be great when people get used to all of the classes and you get that kf2 team building meta going. That was my favorite thing about kf, the unspoken "im gonna be demo and clear trash, deal heavy damage to fps, ur gonna be medic for our zerker, you be the sharp and just deal damage, and a commando or support for more firepower" I just like how people totally put themselves in the roles that they like and that helps the team.
wilkes' design is cool but his character would need to be expanded hugely from his bio, unlike the other KF1 characters he didn't have any clear gimmick described there, it just says how he found the suit
although if he was literally just HUNK it could be cool
I'd rather they just grab Thorne and give him Wilkes helmet as a customization option. They both wear the same combat armor but Thorne has some background compared to Wilkes. Though knowing tripwire, they'll most likely release the both of them at some point along with many others as dlc or fan service.
I remember way back when in the first game you could practically sit by yourself far away from the team and do just fine because you had ways to deal with every enemy
Now Scrakes and Fleshpounds are practically bosses in their own right, massive bullet sponges
I hope the inclusion of Sharpshooter fixes that
I'm hoping the game will at least feel as fair as KF1 did now that, after Sharpshooter, all 7 original perks will be in KF2
Also, Hans is such a fucking great example of how NOT to design a boss
good lord fuck off already with your lunge attacks that do 40 health each

Fixed that for you.

It's 35 on Normal mode, so if he plays that, he's not far off.
I generally leave the game if Hans is the boss. No point in even trying, especially if it's on hard or above.

It's doable on hard, just terribly unfun and drawn out.
I'm usually packing the microwave cannon and the 1897, I'm very careful with my marksmanship, as cringey as that sounds, but really. I always run out of ammunition on hans. Turning the boss fight into 9mm-tag until you find an ammo crate. Which they nerfed for some reason.
Hans is easily the most unfun bossfight in a game since Sindragosa from vanilla Naxxramas in world of warcraft.
It's either he kills everyone but one person who runs around for 15 minutes and dies, or he kills no one at all.
No boss should be that polarized. TWI needs to unfuck him post haste.

I think it would have been smoother to balance if they'd just re-released all the original classes first, then built on that teamplay balance with the new ones. We had a weird mix that left us missing important roles for awhile.
Best part of any editor is fucking around and doing stupid shit.

Gee wiz i sure do love it when people join late waves to try and get an easy win
People think I join late waves because I want to try and get an easy win, but it's actually because it was the only Hard-or-above server I could find.

And also wasn't some dumb custom map.

I also generally avoid games that are almost finished. Don't want to be that prick that joins on wave 9 and makes things qorse, ya feel?
I think I know the issue with gold weapons:
they look too plain
remember the tactical engravings on the gold weapons in KF1? that's where all the style was, in the engravings
in kf2 they look like mustard because there's nothin' on them they're just straight up yellow
I miss my gold AK47 honestly
I avoid games that are 4 rounds in. You just lag behind in dosh the whole time when it gets beyond wave 3 thus dragging the team down.

That and the fact that the ENTIRE gun is basically gold.
I could see the SG500 looking good if the forend and pistol grip were covered in black furniture while the rest of the gun is covered in gold. Even better if there are engravings, of course.
I'm sure the community will come up with better skins, like they did for the rest of the missing parts of the game.
Do you guys think killing floor 2 will go lower than $20.00? I finally got a computer to run it and am excited to play, but i want to maybe buy another game too and at $20.00 I may not be able too.

You can get it second hand pretty cheap

Lucky for you there's a steam sale going on, and kf2 is down to 13,33.
Gunslinger is an insanely boring class, should of just kept it with Sharpshooter. Pistol, a bigger Pistol and a even bigger pistol that all play the same.
Also I realized all these elements of realism/fine details just makes the game worse to play and inconsistent. If these features were in Red Orchestra they'd be great but in an arcade co-op shooter when you pretty much need to be dead accurate, having stuff like dynamic animations and the bullets not coming out from the middle of the screen make it more frustrating to play than it needs to be.
There's a reason why people still play CoD despite it being the same shit ever year. The gameplay is incredibly solid and responsive but on top of what I mentioned and tactical reload being pretty much necessary, I'm going to make the bold statement that Killing Floor 1 is a better game from a gameplay perspective.
KF1 was very consistent, each Zed had a strategy and counter-play involved and stuff didn't feel useless. Scrake circle strafing was the beginning of people figuring out how to play the game but TWI removed it and yet again we have a game where the only viable strategy is to hold down M1 and hope FP/SCs die.
Even if Sharpshooter can make quick work of FP/SCs, he'll just be mandatory on each team because KF2 has too many problems to count and the only big problem that got fixed was Berserker sucking dick. But in a few months it'll be a year since KF2 came out.

Long story short: I think KF1 is a better game from a gameplay perspective. KF1 = very consistent and has strategy. KF2 = inconsistent, only strategy is to hold M1 down and hope they die and you don't run out of ammo.

Main problem with KF1 Sharpshooter is that it was a bit too versatile. One could easily dispatch big and small zeds alike thanks to powerful handguns coupled with powerful long range weapons
I have the crosshair setting on, mostly because I never liked iron sights anyway, but also because of how the way bullets travel is not easy to predict and I was missing too often.
I think KF1 is more solid because they are experimenting way more in KF2 with the balance of classes, you genuinely need a variety of classes to win. It's a good concept, but it just hasn't been perfected yet.
If they do it right KF2 will be a lot more tactical and in my opinion better than KF1.
Making it more tactical does include the risk that games where players don't do good perk combinations but just go "YO I AM LEVEL 3 GUNSLINGER I LIKE DUAL PISTOLS" the match will insta-suck.
kf2 just shows that tripwire doesn't know jack about balancing a class right. but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt because all the classes aren't in yet. by the end of like 2017 when all the classes are in, and the game is 'released' if its still a messed up piece of shit, that'll just prove my point even further.
