"Killing Floor 2 is fleshpounding its way through early access"
nah it's more like cysting its way
Nerfing mobs isn't weakening the strongest, it's buffing all the player weapons.
You aren't balancing the game for the zeds to have fun m8
What are you talking about, whenever an fp drives someone into the ground, they sit there and bask in the sun with their glory, hootin and hollering. The zeds love their job.
I really don't care about how strong they are or aren't at the current point, I just want Fleshpounds to be more distinct front scrakes. right now both of them are roid addicts who bumrush the team and spin around while slav-squatting.

I think how they active their rages is more than enough to differentiate them. Scrakes, for the most part, can be ignored while the trash get taken out and then be handled afterwards. In a way, Scrakes punish you for unloading onto them upfront since they only rage when they reach 50% hp and will probably rush you as you're reloading and get some hits in.
While FPs usually become the top priority (As always there's exceptions) when one spawns since they usually require 2-3 allies to take down efficiently/safely. You can still kite FPs to never rage, but that requires more effort than the Scrake since their rage is a lot easier to trigger.
You can still kite FPs to never rage,
How do you do that?
Um, Fleshpounds rage no matter what you do, especially at the end of a round.
How do you do that?
Taken from the wiki:
- Fleshpounds have specific conditions that have to be met before they enrage.
If a Fleshpound has a player in his line of sight for 10-14 seconds;
After a Fleshpound has taken 276 points of damage;
After a 10-14 second delay, if they among are the last 5 Zeds in a wave
Perhaps I was wrong. I thought they only rage from damage done in a short amount of time. Can anyone confirm that?
-snip nvm-
I was reading how the KF1 FPs work and I'm wondering if KF2 FPs work exactly the same:
Fleshpounds also have a tendency to rage, signified by their distinctive imposing roar and the red colorization of their torso light. A raging Fleshpound runs towards its target at great speed and causes massive damage. There are two triggers for this rage, the first and foremost of which is based on damage over time; if a Fleshpound receives more than approximately 320 damage within a 3 to 5 second period it will rage. The second trigger is based on time; if a Fleshpound hasn't made it into attacking range for a variable length of time it will become frustrated and rage anyway
If so, then it should be possible to make FPs in KF2 never rage.
Yeah there's no way to keep a fleshpound from raging. They rage when you're out of sight, they rage when you're in sight, and they rage permanently at the end of the wave.
I imagine that it'll be terrible to play with pubs.

so how do they expect to balance around a pvp mode. will it have separate values from pve? will it take 3 months to change numbers and push out a balance patch? will they release a graph on developer time on pvp?
how are you guys still playing this
how are you guys still playing this
By opening the game and either starting a solo match or joining an online server.
last I checked the PVP modes were just some silly and fun throw-away things to test off the official support for mutators, so I wouldn't expect them to be fully-fledged modes with the same support the co-op regular modes will
more of just some fun side-diversions rather than the whole other half of the game
That doesn't mean the community won't make PvP the focus of the game, ala L4D and L4D2.
Left 4 Dead taught me that versus mode is a place filled with the most toxic people ever.
And this is the reaon why I'm afraid of PvP in KF2.

jokes on you: i'm not :godzing:
After dicking about in Subnautica for a while, the one thing this really needs more than anything else is a dedicated feedback button. It'll probably get spammed with "pls nerf X thing" but it'd be extremely nice to have some way of sending a suggestion without needing to go on the forum.
They're sorta doing it in a behind-the-scenes way with the system they've just implemented but it doesn't really help the average player have their suggestion heard. On the forum, people are at mercy to the other users, which places a barrier to those that are sensitive enough to criticism that it will keep them from posting at all. It's also a pain in the ass to make an account specifically to post a single suggestion.
Also the system in Subnautica snaps a screenshot and uploads it directly to the developers when feedback is submitted, as opposed to creating a forum account and spending a good 10 minutes typing the post and uploading the screenshot there. It would streamline the whole "beta testing" thing that Early Access is intended for.
Not only were there unfun people, the game itself was often much too difficult to be enjoyed.
Do you guys think the railgun will be at least as good as the kf1 crossbow?

That's how my team is doing it for our playtesters.
It's not as sophisticated but on the main menu we have a button that takes you to a google doc where you can drop feedback and suggestions.

I'm hoping for something between KF1 xbow and 50 cal. A railgun should be powerful as hell, but not cost as much as a tank.

On a good team the m90 was actually really fun to play with, since you had to coordinate, share dosh and tell your sharpshooter where ammo crates were, and your sharp only had a 9mm.
It was a really fun dynamic, but it fell apart on suicidal because it took like 3 headshots to drop an FP and 2 headshots to drop a scrake, which is 750 and 500 pounds respectively which is maths that just doesn't add up

Almost a year later, still nothing to really do except hunting achievements. :weeb:

I swear to fucking god, I was just thinking that before I came into this thread. It's been almost a year with fuckall progress.

As I said earlier, it's not the content that surprises me (though it's still a bad pace), it's the lack of balance or polish they're bothering to do and the rate at which. It just leaves a really gross feeling.
And there are still people in the community who are defending it tooth and nail because "durr it's an ea game of course it's not finished, stop complaining~ xDDD"
Starbound should've pushed me over the line, but KF2 did it for good. I'm done with EA all together. Even if it looks amazing and people are telling me to play it RIGHT THE FUCK NOW, no thanks. I mean, I got my hours worth out of KF2, but it still left me disappointed.

PVP mode sounds fun until you realize that you can just focus on the medic and probably win easily
