Killing Floor v8 - Come Out, Come Out Little Pigs!

I wonder how a flying zed would work.
I was picturing something like a cacodemon rather than a winged zed. Since the clot has several different variations that are explained away as being a failed clone and one who has spikes for some reason, I was thinking it could be like a failed bloat.
It's a grotesquely bloated torso with maybe one arm, the rest having sloughed off by the diseased body. It's bloated almost to bursting and hovers around the maps by releasing or storing decomposition gases.
it'd be weak, since it's skin is stretched so badly, but when it's shot or gets close enough to attack, it bursts and releases maybe a weaker version of the gas Hans uses.
I'd mostly like to see something that can break up a coordinated group if they don't pay attention. Scrakes and Fleshpounds can do that, but you can return back to your spot after they are dead. if one of these things gets close enough to burst then you are denied that area for a while and will need to work around it.
A rogue Horzine UAV would probably fit better, since it'd be very hard to explain how the hell a man-sized +160lb creature can stay afloat without some outlandish explanation like "he's a balloon man". Not to mention that conventional gasses can't keep a man afloat that easily, it requires a lot of gas to lift a man. A lot more than what would easily fit on the maps. A UAV is much smaller, about the size of a Crawler.
That's more Tech than Zed, but Horzine is no stranger to tech outside of biotech. They produce super-advanced 3D Printers, the Medic Guns, the Microwave Gun, even Trains.
UAVs are boring though.
Well I mean you can always rationalize the two together, Scrakes, Fleshpounds, and Husks all have technology integrated in to them, disregarding Patriarch and Hans. No reason something like a clot couldn't be made to fly with technology.
3rd boss can be a clot in a pedal powered airship, dropping bombs on everyone.
Though yeah, when I suggest that I have no real interest in arguing the amount of gases needed to keep something aloft. When there's a microwave gun, ability to shoot handcannons one handed by regular people, I don't think it's much of a stretch to say at one point Hans, the Patriarch, or Horzine meddled with airborne zeds.
I like to think the first tests were with cannon propelled crawlers.
Revenant type enemy, with shoulder mounted guns and jet pack.
tested hans on hard, how much did they lower his hp with? he needed to heal like instantly
tested hans on hard, how much did they lower his hp with? he needed to heal like instantly
none. They only lowered his melee damage.

Revenant type enemy, which is just Leonardo DiCaprio on a fucking war path of revenge.

Wow, after the Oscar the power really did go to his head

The same thing happened to Julie Andrews
Mini hans enemy type. He charges and latches on to you whispers shit in your ear.
Do you guys think the railgun will be at least as good as the kf1 crossbow?
im hoping the kf2 crossbow is as good as the kf1 crossbow.
I just hope the Railgun has some insane piercing mechanic.
I want to be able to obliterate a hallway of zeds in only a few shots.
Seeing as the railgun is replacing the .50 Cal, it really should pack a huge punch.
On the topic of railguns: Fallout, Crysis, XCOM, KF2 and others always have railguns as 'super guns' compared to normal guns, and they're usually sniper rifles with shiny effects (although XCOM has them as semi-auto rifles too). I never understood that, don't railguns just use magnetic rails to propel rather than a tiny contained explosion? Is there any actual backing for them being so damaging and having bright blue trails or a red 'flare', or is it just "revolvers are better" logic?

In theory, a railgun can shoot out a projectile a whole lot faster than an explosive-powered mechanism.
That's all I know.

Already been proven, Yugoslavia had one that hit 9,800 ft/s with a 1.5lb projectile, as well as General Atomic's tests. For reference, one of the fastest non-testbench rounds are from the M1 Abram's gun, which tops out at 5,500 ft/s for the tungsten AP rounds. It's gonna be a hallway-clearing, patriarch-piercing, fleshpound-fucking monster weapon. Hopefully they keep the insane murderfuckery that it's capable of and make it a slow to fire, heavy as shit boss-slayer like the .50 rifle.

Oh shit, that's almost as fast as the speed Hans swings his hand blades.
The railgun will indeed be as powerful as the real life version.
It will also explode upon firing, killing you and anything near you.
I remember reading a theoretical article on a combined mechanism that uses both magnetic rails and gunpowder-based propellant to increase the flight speed even further. The article basically theorized that larger sized projectiles with explosive tips could exist some time in the future.
For sci-fi games, railguns typically end up shooting the projectile with an assumed "tracer" on the projectile, as well as possibly having explosive tips to facilitate an explosion on impact.

I'm just worried that the crossbow and M14 are gonna feel underpowered as fuck in comparison now that they have to somehow fit into the "4 weapon tiers" system. And the lever action is gonna be like a peashooter, oh god.

Don't worry, they will probably make the weight of the rail gun so high that you can't take anything else with it and it's going to have only 5 bullets. With a chance of the bullet suddenly disappearing after firing the weapon.
I'm sad Sharpshooter isn't out yet, it's been a little more than three months since I last played.
I'm hoping for some fun weapons, and more importantly, I'm hoping for perks similar to Gunslinger, like with that head shot rack-up one.

So instead we'll get a BB gun.

"Lever-Action Rifle"
"Damage: 36"
Calling it.
Judging by the level of damage done by the Medic Pistol, Varmint Rifle, and Revolvers, it's gonna be at least 45 damage, and that's for the "it's bad" level.
I hope the lever action is atleast going to be strong enough to decap clots on HoE or else i'll be sad
I hope the lever action is atleast going to be strong enough to decap clots on HoE or else i'll be sad
Clots have the same HP on every difficulty except Normal (which is just easy in disguise). Clots only have 20 head HP, the only weapons that can't decap them in one hit are the M9 Pistol and the Medic SMG, which do 15 damage.
I think I'd be OK with the lower damage of some weapons if they instead give a really nice head damage multiplier, at least 2.5x for Sharpshooter's weapons so that you'll really have an incentive to be good with the class. Otherwise 45 damage would be pitiful, so I hope the lever-action better get enough reserve ammo and a nice shooting speed to make up for it.
