We are of course recording audio for all the weapons listed above (and think they are sounding great!) but that isn’t all. The Fleshpound is our first zed getting a full pass with all new sounds (and lines....) to bring him up to optimal “EarPound” levels. In the coming weeks we hope to be able to share some of that work with you!
Yessssss. The game lost so much personality when all the ZED lines disappeared for generic zombie gurgles.
of course they add a fucking deagle. can't they think of something more original than that hunk of dogshit. like something an actual operator would use i hoped that the people who made red orchestra would know better than this dual pistol matrix john woo shit. they died out for a reason. tripwire needs to watch some Michael Mann films and quit with this juvenile pandering ratshit

Gunslinger is suppose to be a dual-wielding Hollywood class relying on pistols. Besides, they're a fun gun. Sure, no one wants to daily carry a metal brick, but they're really entertaining to shoot if you can hork up the $1 bullet costs and know how to handle it so it doesn't jam while cycling. It also makes sense as a linear progression and as a side-grade Tier 3. It's currently set up as a Revolver -> Automatic -> Bigger Automatic -> Biggest Revolver. There's no other way for them to offer a somewhat realistic upgrade from a .45 1911 that still has a magazine. Also the operator comment is funny, because I know plenty of people in the military who bought them just for fun, including my MTI.

You complain about the deagle, yet you're not complaining about the T1 or the fucking SW500. Come on...
i feel like there are probably cooler guns than the deagle though
i feel like there are probably cooler guns than the deagle though
Come on, you know it's classy. They have to, too. Since it was in KF1.0, 2.0, 2.5, KF Retail, etc. To be honest, I would've liked to have seen a Mars pistol in a game, since it's about the only thing close to a Desert Eagle in caliber for an automatic and came long before it. [t]http://www.guns.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/450MarsLong3.jpg[/t]
i would be alright with replacing the 1911 with something vaguely more cyberpunky and obscure to match the game's current aesthetic, this selection feels a little drab to me
i would be alright with replacing the 1911 with something vaguely more cyberpunky and obscure to match the game's current aesthetic, this selection feels a little drab to me
I'm a fan of the 1911 so I'll get that out of the way, but honestly, the cyberpunk stuff I can think of is only the neon Medic assortment, and Microwave Gun. Flamethrower is a little bits and bobble, but everything else seems mostly like down-to-Earth real weapons. If I had to pick one extreme or the other, I really do not want to see another ~~IJC~~ pack of Unreal Tournament looking weapons that make needless beep-boop noises for no reason, like we got in KF1.
Medic has a very futuristic look to all of their weapons, berserker has a salvaged/scrap engineering look to their gear. Commando is obviously strict military. Demolition is rather militia/paramilitary. Firebug kinda annoys me in that regard because he goes from salvaged, to historic/militia, to military, then futuristic. His style is all over the place in that regard.
50 cal fun time did you never play killing floor until 2
i know kf1 had them, i was hoping tripwire learned it was stupid. Come on...
the SW500 makes sense because the class needs something to hit the big zeds with, though i'd prefer something more practical like a thompson center arms contender the 1858 is a dumb choice, but it shows an appreciation of classics at least. the m1911 (should be called M1911A1, tripwire) is one of the most practical choices of handgun is the world so no complaints there the desert eagle is just retarded
Uh, not only did you never play KF1 I presume, but there's nothing wrong with it. realism isn't always fun in unrealistic situations
Sorry the realism in the game where you can be a punk chick in a gas mask fighting zombie clones in Paris isnt up to snuff
-
So you're pretty much hating on the Deagle because it's a Deagle
The cobbled-together nature of certain weapons clashes with the idea that the Trader is a 3D printing AI now.
The cobbled-together nature of certain weapons clashes with the idea that the Trader is a 3D printing AI now.
Maybe it's like Borderlands, where someone scanned it into the system so it could be replicated? If there's one thing that's nice about the Trader now being a 3D Printing Pod, it's that in the future, it'll make sense that each pod can produce a bajillion different weapons seemingly out of nowhere and on demand. As opposed to a random trader in an apocalypse casually pulling out a multitude of anti-tank weaponry from behind the counter.
the m1911 (should be called M1911A1, tripwire) is one of the most practical choices of handgun is the world so no complaints there the desert eagle is just retarded
Speaking in terms of realism, I'm really not sure how you can defend the M1911 as a viable choice and then go on to say the Desert Eagle is retarded. The M1911, as cool as it is, is probably a really fucking awful choice for anything that isn't shooting at a range. Who would pick the 100 year-old .45 handgun with a seven round magazine to take on a horde of pissed-off things?

If ever. Pretty sure everyone and their grandmother knows wielding two firearms at once is both highly ineffective, dangerous, inaccurate, and a waste of time unless you're an extremely well trained, professional gunslinger by trade. Oh. Wait a minute. That's the name of the class.
All I hope for is someone to make a sequel to this: (preferably with the actual theme and not a shitty cover.)

I'm personally disappointed that TWI didn't put a little more imagination into their weapon choices for gunslinger. I'm fine with the deagle as it's a classic from the series, but why a 1911? I'd prefer to have a Beretta M93R to make things a little more interesting, as opposed to a gun that's been in pretty much every game with real world guns. Not to mention that the 1911 is an old design that is bested by many, many other designs, including the Mk23, FNX, USP, and many others. Why would anyone that has access to a device that prints guns ask for a 1911 that holds 7+1 when they can get a Mk23/USP/FNX that holds 12+1/14+1 rounds, and is more reliable? The 1858 revolver is extremely out of place, too. Pretty much all of them that exist are either black powder percussion cap guns, or converted to fire some extinct cartridges, or .38. .38 Special is weaker than 9mm, unless it's a +p load, which I'm certain that a converted civil war revolver is not rated to handle, it would end up being less useful than the starter M9. It defies logic, even in a game that lives on cool-ism, to have a gun weaker than the backup gun you're supposed to use in emergencies as your starting weapon. If TWI wants 2 revolvers in the game, put the 1911/M93R at T1, then put in a .357 Colt Python at T2, which still allows for rule of cool without being idiotic. /rant
/rant
While I have no issues with the 1911 in the game (they likely chose it to keep the entire line similar with low ammo-count, high power), I do agree, it's weird as a Tier 2 weapon, and it's especially weird to have a fucking mid-1800s revolver that used powder-ball-percussion ammunition in this game. There were a lot, lot of choices they could go with. And I do inevitably understand the need for powerhouse pistols, but the 1858 just seems weird and silly. I don't think they would go with the M93R or autopistols as that encroaches on the SMG territory likely reserved for the SWAT class or whatever it will be called. I kinda agree with the swap Zombini mentions.

[editline]17th October[/editline] unfortunately the selection of pistols is stuck between being either stupidly anachronistic or being tacticool and boring and not different enough from the M9. imho the only thing for it is to go completely out of left field and pull in something weird like the varmint rifle

Gunslinger is full of classic weapons. An old west revolver, 1911, Deagle, and Big x Huge handcannon you see in every game. Tripwire is probably going to give them all really good treatment too. Also more sidearms for everyone, hopefully they will let you sell the default pistol.
sad that my boy the mk23 isnt making a comeback
sad that my boy the mk23 isnt making a comeback
with it's kickass dual reload
In the essence of reloading, I have found the clear solution. [t]http://kuvaton.com/kuvei/revolveri_3.jpg[/t] [sp]Why does this game have so many try-hards in non-HoE servers? Seems like every other night I run into a backseat gamer who demands the entire team follow his advice.[/sp]
I just woke up and read the news about a .500 Revolver Magnum, and I will have you know that I haven't seen this magnificent man made creation since I finished a cooperation game with my friend 2 years ago in Resident evil 5. Hopefully that sweet metal ass should have a Stopping power that stuns big zeds, or else it will just be weird shooting a gun that big and they don't even react a little other then a flinch.
