started now [editline]6th April 2016[/editline] what i picked up from the stream for VS mode: [B][*] [/B]only in 4 wave mode [B][*] [/B]alpha clot, can use 'rally' on AI zeds. increases their speed i think [B][*] [/B]slasher, can jump high and roll [B][*] [/B]gorefast, light / heavy and spin attack. has some blunt damage resistance [B][*] [/B]crawler can jump far and use suicide, spawns a gas cloud for campers [B][*] [/B]bloat can puke often and lay puke mines, players needs to shoot these or take quite a bit of damage [B][*] [/B]husk can fire rockets, use flame and suicide, like the AI version [B][*] [/B]siren can use scream, bite and 'vortex', pull the enemy player like the smoker in l4d2 (the target can't do anything until siren takes damage) [B][*] [/B]scrake is like the AI version, light / heavy attack and spin. becomes enraged at low health, can only spawn once in wave 3 and 4 [B][*] [/B]fleshpound has light / heavy and 'rage' (goes into rage mode) [B][*] [/B]one players gets to control the patriach with all his abilities, including heal (3 charges). other players will spawn in randomly as slasher, crawler and gorefast from what it looked like, crawler, bloat and siren are quite OP. ofc the scrake and fleshpound are quite hard aswell
PvP sounds cool and all, but I'd prefer sharpshooter instead.

someone made a list, and I dont know how to format properly so ill just copy it here. Zeds will have leveling and perks in future. In first version of versus you can only play as normal zeds, scrake + fp and patriarch. Hans will come in future with sharpshooter and few new maps besides prison. Bloat gain puke mines which will explode if human player will step on them, they can destroy them by shooting them. Commando won't be able to detect stealth units if they will walk instead sprinting. That's confirmed for Stalker but idk about Patriarch. Siren gains new ability which will stun (they can't shoot for 6 secs - OP as fuck) and pull enemies to you. She can also bite human players. Patriach has 3 health syringes which you can use manually to heal and probably in future they will be activated automatically at 25% health. Patriarch gain new ability - You can use rocket launcher to shoot 3 rockets at once like mortar and they will be guided to hit 3 enemies. Husk and Crawlers can suicide to kill or deal heavy damage. ANELE x2

On the other hand at least they have been doing [i] something [/i] recently, I was getting worried that nothing would come along for another few months.

What do you guys think about playing as the zeds 3rd person, as opposed to 1st person (like in L4D2) ?
No one is arsed to make 1st person anims/models which is why they are 3rd person. [editline]6th April 2016[/editline] I just hope you can toggle the view from right to left.

Yeah it isn't even the kind of PvP I've imagined since KF1, it's just versus from l4d I've always been curious what a clusterfuck it'd be if you had players killing each other with the perks and weapons in KF, because it's a unique mechanical environment Got some short glimpses of that from Defense Alliance 2 I guess
Im curious as to the op strategy of having a siren just walk behind a fp and use her scream to negate any grenades or rpgs toward him. Really interested to see how players make strategies working together as zeds.
That's a little of what I'm afraid of. Especially in Left 4 Dead, infected AI didn't naturally work together, so that's what made versus that much harder was that players could organize ambushes and combos and whatnot. In Killing Floor it's a little different, TWI uses "squads" (i think) to somewhat force zeds to work together, like Siren and Fleshpound combos and the like.

People would basically kill off their boomer on purpose, allowing them to have 3 hunters and a smoker, and you would basically just sit at the corner and hit them all at once, making for an automatic win. Even in l4d2 people did it, just replace the hunter with a jockey and charger. I hope twi has a way to prevent that kind of manipulation because there will definitely be some weak zed that people will not want to use/play.

And now TWI has to divert manpower and resources to making the new gamemode so we'll have to wait [i]even longer[/i] for new perks and content to be released
Look forward to excellent balancing, where VS. will be filled with some massively unbalanced mechanic and Tripwire will take four months to actually rebalance it.

Yeah, don't you know it takes four months to discover that Demolitions may not actually be useful, but you know, it's not enough time to actually touch it. But are you ready for the end of our next four month wait for... two weapons and a map.

Don't the zed players share the spawn pool with AI zeds? Which means you have to protect them and attack as quickly as you can or you'll lose.
