I really wish I could refund the game. One year ago, I would had never believed this. They don't have excuses for this.
If you didn't refund anything before, your first refund is always eligible, no matter how many hours you played, how many time have passed after the purchase. Just use it wisely. Unless i'm wrong, because i can request for a refund.

I'm not bothered about the updates because I only really play an hour or two a week but holy shit these guys work slow, I've said it once and I'll say it again that I could get three students to make better and faster content than these guys. I'm actually baffled at how glacial the progress on weapons is. Literally hover in the 3D thread on FP and you'll see people producing AAA-tier weapons in a few days.
While I agree the updates are too slow, I'm sure they must have some reason for that, since it's in a company's interest to release stuff as fast as possible. Yes, a weapon model doesn't take 4 months to make, but maybe they have internal problems / problems with the workflow whatever? Iunno, for all we know the 3d artists might have to wait for the perk stuff to be done before adding stuff, or the other way around. The other day I was checking APB on Steam and saw that they post workflows on different stuff, like cosmetics. TWI could do the same so we could see WHY they take so long.
that they decided to add a versus mod does not help either.
that they decided to add a versus mod does not help either.
I don't have any issues with this stuff because like they've said, some stuff gets finished before other stuff. There's no new perks on VS, there's no new maps on vs, there's no new models on versus. All they had to do was code the thing and make zed retextures plus the UI. If anything the only thing vs delayed was a new character, and who cares about that. I think the problem they have is that they want to make big patches with multiple things to brand them as content packs and they don't want to admit it, and thus small stuff that's finished has to wait for other things like maps.
I don't know how a pipeline can be made so a weapon gets stuck in it for 4 months.
IDK either, I think it's just the "we gotta make content packs" attitude that makes stuff get stuck. (+ whatever staff problems they have, what with people in charge of perks leaving)
Honestly how does it take longer than 1 week for an entire company to create 1 perk?
Talk about taking forever to do a single perk that they're announcing the RELEASE DATE on E3 so it'll be at least 1-2 months maybe more
It will be a teaser for the trailer of the release of the sharpshooter perk!
It will be a teaser for the trailer of the release of the sharpshooter perk!
And the journalists that get it first who don't know what killing floor even is
I don't have any issues with this stuff because like they've said, some stuff gets finished before other stuff. There's no new perks on VS, there's no new maps on vs, there's no new models on versus. All they had to do was code the thing and make zed retextures plus the UI.
And all they have to do is code sharpshooter and the rest of the planned perks. You do know creating entirely new gameplay mechanics takes more effort than making a perk/weapons, right? The base mechanics of weapons are already there, most of what has to be done is applying a model/animations to it, changing some accuracy, clip size, ammo pool, damage, etc. stuff. Same for perks, most of their functions are derived from a parent class so as to not rewrite the entire thing though they require a bit more work than weapons. Meanwhile with a new gametype you have to implement an extra team, add the ability to swap teams, create mechanics that handle how players from the zed team spawn, create entirely new pawns that are able to be controlled by players, they even went ahead and created special abilities for them which aren't present on the AI zeds.
If anything the only thing vs delayed was a new character, and who cares about that.
It's not because you don't care about it that nobody else does. I could also rhetorically ask who cares about the VS gametype, obviously some people do, however it's something Tripwire shit straight out of nowhere while development on base features of the game has been laughably stagnant.
I think the problem they have is that they want to make big patches with multiple things to brand them as content packs and they don't want to admit it, and thus small stuff that's finished has to wait for other things like maps.
Clumps of content or not the rate of which content was released on average is a joke, plain and simple.
IDK either, I think it's just the "we gotta make content packs" attitude that makes stuff get stuck. (+ whatever staff problems they have, what with people in charge of perks leaving)
If I put a game on greenlight that's 15% complete and loads of people bought into it for whatever reason (like KF2 riding on the success of KF1), made poor development decisions and ignored feedback (while having "gaming journalists" who don't have a clue how to play a game play their upcoming updates) I'd probably also be stuck with my thumbs up my ass making content in a really unmotivated manner, I already got my paycheck so I don't really have much of a reason or goal to keep me going. They also effortlessly implemented microtransaction without delay. Yeah game development sounds complicated from the outside, but like some have said before there are people who make high quality content very quickly literally just as a hobby, imagine taking 10 times the amount of time doing the same thing while you're paid to do that. Tripwire fucked themselves six ways from sunday, and they don't even have the humility to admit it. A big AAA studio shouldn't be struggling that much with a game, especially since they got plenty of revenue day 1 on greenlight plus the microtransactions.
Idk what point you are trying to make since I'm agreeing with the complaints that TWI works painfully slow and that their workflow makes no sense. I don't agree on the VS or MTs thing though, the people working on these don't work on the perks. I don't think the dude who does character textures, and did the textures for the vs zeds, works on weapon models, nor do I think the dude that codes gamemode / economy stuff works on perks either, so it doesn't matter wether vs was hard to make or not, since it's different things that shouldn't interfere with eachother.
Last year around the time when the demo & firebug update was released, I wasn't nearly as pessimistic as most people about how the game was progressing. Sure it took them around 3 months to produce that update, but it was a pretty big chunk of content, that was almost 20% of the supposed final game right there. They weren't going to hit an end of 2015 release date like they originally planned, but if things continued at that pace, we could have all 10 perks in the game by now. I thought the people who were spreading panic about how the game's never gonna get finished were being ridiculously overdramatic. Then 2016 came around, and things slowed down to a crawl. Turns out those people were right. I honestly don't understand what the fuck Tripwire are doing anymore. They supposedly started work on sharpshooter even before the gunslinger was released, and content wise it seems like they have most things finished already, yet it's still gonna take them another 2 months until they release the damn thing. How does it take them more than 6 months to produce a single perk? This is getting stupid now. I sincerely hope that the update announced at E3 will contain a lot more stuff than just the sharpshooter perk.

Feel free to disregard my post though, I'm still pissed and disappointed in Tripwire and really regret buying into a product that will remain unfinished long past the expected release date. I want a refund but obviously I'm kinda fucked in that regard.
at this point i'm more interested in the Mystery of the Broken Development Pipeline than i am in the game

Maybe they do jerk off eachother there and do nothing all day, but I want to believe that there is something going on internally that they don't want to / can't comment on that makes them work this way. We don't know, is what I want to get at, and that it would be nice to see what pipeline they have going on. If other companies can post their work from concept to shipped product, I don't see why tripwire couldn't do it as well, to at least give us a reason to not be pissed at the slow content, obviously IF they do have a valid reason.
How hard is it to just make Kf1 but better graphics? That's how you fix the fucking demo. Remake the Kf1 weapons, give it to him, and then go back to jerking each other off in the office break room.
There's people who do not want an HD kf1 though, they want the game to evolve. Having more than one gamemode is a step in the right direction, but this is assuming the base game is finished, fun and balanced, and that the modes are too. Which isn't what's happening right now. And this is coming from someone who kinda enjoyed VS even with it's huge balance flaws, and would be fine with not having all the perks if the base mechanics were balanced, specially in higher diffs - tbh my main gripe with the game right now is the balance, not even the missing content.
However they could have just copied the KF1 stat perks, and then modifying them futher.
Guys, I'm from the future! It's 2023 and Tripwire has finally released Killing Floor 2 out of Early Access! They had to delay the SWAT class though, but he's coming in a future content update.
I just got back from 2027 and SWAT was cancelled due to it being too confusing for new players
2293 here, just had to go to Titan to purchase the demo balancing patch. Game crashes on start up now
2293 here, just had to go to Titan to purchase the demo balancing patch. Game crashes on start up now
Impossible, it has been on QA for 200 years now.
4000 here, they gave the demo a higher ammo capacity for his grenade pistol confirming his complete rebalance, Sharpshooter expected soon but things are looking grim
40219 here, game is complete now. In other news, the 13th Black Crusade has started and my planet is next.
8756e769 here new weapon for medic, next update expected 9915a302
I don't know what you're all smoking, it's December 1st, 2808, Doomsday.
you know what Demo just needs? A increase in reload speed or weapons that aren't god damn single shot weapons
China Lake pls
My demo has only leveled up by using the RPG for shits and giggles at the end of a game as another perk. Currently level 2. [editline]7th May 2016[/editline] I don't use the perk because it's awful.
I knew demo was awful when I used every rocket and grenade I had on Hans as a level 10 on Normal and I was the one who died
I knew demo was awful when I used every rocket and grenade I had on Hans as a level 10 on Normal and I was the one who died
Hans has 50% resistance to explosives.
