And the 1911 sounds like a fucking cannon for some reason, i legit thought these sounds were placeholders when i first heard them.

So tw staff says the 1911 uses black powder to explain why they sound like that. But why black powder instead of smokeless?
honestly the animations for the new guns are janky as fuck, they're sanic fast even in zed time or in your face.
have you seen the animations on the single 1911? it's just awful the way the character pull the slide with just his right hand :pudge:
According to a dev on the tripwire forums,
Yeah uh... that's...
that's not what these guns sound like at all
I actually like the 1858, the .500 and the Deagle, but they still could be greatly improved
The 9mm and the M1911 sound like dogshit
Wonder if the animator killed himself over running animation too. That would explain slow progress on updates - Tripwire just keep losing staff.
it's taken straight from RO2

Kill me. First the amateur artists, now amateur sound design. Actually, wait, if I kill myself over something I might be part of the team!
I actually own a .45 1911, I would happily go to the range and record it with whatever if it meant no more "proomfs"
[sp](I know they must have been referring to the revolver and mistaken the original post. No one can be so stupid as to think of having black powder in a modern gun that relies on gas pressure.)[/sp]
Snip
So how does the drops work? I've played more than 10 matches so far and i got nothing.
The .45 sound makes my guts churn. Like have these guys ever actually heard a .45 fire before?

Bruh, I had the same idea. I'll meet you at the range at 0900 tomorrow, don't let me down

Yeah, I don't quite know why they're lying about the sounds being authentic... what do they expect literally no one to have either fired a gun before or, hell, you know, heard one?
So, you can reload really fast with gunslinger without Tactical reload.
The moment you insert the first magazine into the gun, hit bash and BOOM.
Fully reloaded.
Why don't they just use the audio from kf1 for the 9mm? No need in trying to fix something that's not broken.

This is probably the most mentally sound first post I've ever read.
I agree. Maybe make it sound a bit crisper to match the other sounds, but it was fine as it was. :c
The 1911 needs a little more oomph to sound more powerful
The 9mm sounds like somebody hitting a plastic pipe to a wall
The 9mm needs a better raw file - more high end which would add the needed slap to blend into the other hq sounds

Ah, I see what they meant by fixing the bugged cosmetics for Classic Briar.
He had the new outfit unlocked by default, but big bad Tripwire can't have their $5 [del]DLC[/del] microtransactions infringed on so they had to fix it by removing it and defaulting ol Briar's cosmetic settings. );
Does black powder* even sound like what the 1911 does? (yeah I'm sure they made it black powder on purpose design-wise there's even smoke)
Does black power even sound like what the 1911 does? (yeah I'm sure they made it black powder on purpose design-wise there's even smoke)
I am 99% certain they got it confused when the guy was talking about the 18xx revolver, because for those not firearms-inclined, you don't put black powder in modern gas-operated firearms. I mean, you can, but they're not designed for it and it's the equivalent of shitting your bed, if your bed was gun internals. No one wants to clean that.
That said, black powder still doesn't quite sound as weak. Though it is still noticeably more boomy-poofy over bangy.

There's someone firing .45ACP with Black Powder. It does have a different sound.
Same as Payday 2, the soundtrack is the ambiance. So of course if you turn it off there's not much to hear.
Turning off the music is halfway to turning off your speakers.
There are actually a lot of sounds that you probably don't notice otherwise. From sirens crying in the distance and their metal body inserts clanking with every step to just birds chirping and water flowing on forest. It was creepier in kf1 though where you'd hear faint voice lines like "I'll sing, they love it when I sing" or "get me out of this" in the distance.
The Patriarch is so much more fun to fight than Hans. Plus those loud, metallic noise he makes while walking are really intimidating. I just don't understand why they released him before the Matriarch. You'd think they'd save Kevin's reveal for last or something?
I eagerly await a server mod that removes the chance of getting Hans as a boss fight. He's so anti-fun. Before I used to thought people who quit at the boss fight were jerks but now I'm considering doing just that if I run into Hans.
He's just bullshit with his mechanics. Lock on near instant kill melee, only people that can outrun him are Medic, Berserker, and Gunslinger, so much goddamn health and his bullshit invincible healing stage where even if you stand still just to let him heal he'll randomly stick his claws up your ass and tear you asunder. A tons of his attacks you can't parry, he takes less damage from explosives so demo gets fucked, you always run out of ammo during the fight and spend twenty minutes praying for an ammo drop before he inevitably rapes you.
It's not fun and playing through that slough of a fight on any difficulty higher than normal is a waste of time.

Also, I tried using the 9mm and the other pistols with a headset instead of my 5.1 setup, and they sound horrible. With the subwoofer in use they sound fantastic but that's only because the base is so loud it masks the shit sound effects.

I love how obvious it is to spot who levelled all their perks using SAM or perk maps, lvl 25 support joins a suicidal game, wave 4/10, dies 5 kills in, swaps to lvl 25 firebug, dies 20 kills in, at the end of the game the level 4 and 7 gunslingers had twice his kills :v: how does anyone find that fun.
Playing Gunslinger is one of the most satisfying things in a FPS game. Popping heads is great.
Also I randomly ran into Flimsii today while playing, which was cool.
For some reasons I am tons better at hitting headshots in KF1 then I was in KF2 when dual-wielding. I don't know why - it must be because zeds are moving vertically a lot more than usual in maps like Black Forest and Outpost.
that and the kf1 hitboxes were interesting

it's a lot harder to hit anything in kf2 because the bullets come out of the gun rather than the middle of the screen. Zeds are also a lot more athletic and have different movement patterns.

even with the jank hitboxes if you knew them then you can dispatch zeds a lot easier than in kf2 where the prime strategy is to shoot them until they stop moving or explode into bits.
Albeit KF1 had the sharpshooter so you could kill scrakes/fps in 3-4 xbow bolts without anyone taking damage if you were good
the one thing i dislike about the gore system in kf2 is that body parts eat up bullets.
so if you set max body count to something like 1 in the ini files, you actually kill more stuff because your bullets aren't being wasted and you're also not trying to penetrate through 3 bodies to kill the gorefast coming up behind them

Honestly, I levelled both Commando and Medic to 25 using a map back before the Incinerate'n'Detonate pack, because it thought that the perks would get reset upon the full games release and I wanted to experience the Beta to its fullest extent. Wish I could undo it now.

use sam to reset them.
i think somebody has a list for what all the entries in the statistics page for sam corresponds with which perk, but if not you can always copy the list, close sam, go in game, and mess around with the perks you want changed, and then exit the game, go back to sam, and see which numbers changed.
Man, I'm in love with Patriarchs music in KF2. Glad they kept it awesome.
