Killing Floor v8 - Come Out, Come Out Little Pigs!

They aren't doing any holiday events this year fellas, in case you hadn't heard. Probably wont do them next year either, judging on how slowly they're doing things.
But don't worry, they're going to have additional paid cosmetic items and scavenger hunts put in, they know what the player base wants.

Because cosmetics and collectibles are so similair to having to add Zed skins and make a full new map :v:
I prefer if they'd first concentrate on getting the promised content out before they start events
Even though i really like those events
I also doubt that the Trading Floor will slow down their progress on classes and such since they got multiple departments
Gunslinger serves his purpose, wonder what difference sharp will make
The magnum revolvers are already fucking up big guys with head shots like old sharp would
I figured the most obvious difference would probably be that Sharpshooter would focus on rifles instead of pistols. There might even be some scoped stuff, who knows. Sharpshooter will probably be more effective at medium, and long-range shooting than Gunslinger. I hope whatever it is, it has a similar skill to Rack em up, because I love being able to get a 70% damage boost by having precision accuracy.
As much as I wanna see the new shit they've given us the KF1 classes and boss so I'd enjoy seeing the Christmas Zeds in HD even if it means putting off an update.
I miss the gorefast ginger bread man, it's a Christmas tradition
[editline]20th December 2015[/editline]
If it's not out on 22nd (start of holiday sale) I'll give up hopes
Edit:
However I would say ONLY christmas, I very much dislike hillbilly horror, and I can live without the circus for awhile.
I don't think the Trading Floor crap slowed down production of other things, but it's still disingenuous of them to put it in before other, more important (to me) things.
Anyone have an issue with Steam Achievement Manager and Killing Floor 2?
I changed statistics and now my perks are stuck at 0XP, even when I gain it doesn't save. Anyone know a fix (besides resetting to 0 on all perks).
Edit: Found a fix. Since the stat values are increment only, you have to find a way to get MORE than the value you set. Luckily this is possible by using a modded game and playing single player on an OP map (HoE difficulty and Very Long). Use this guide to install the patch for 100x exp https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hE3pSqvI3Z0 and then download the superperkleveling map from here: http://kf2.gamebanana.com/maps/187635 Install both and play solo until the end of the map. You should be able to get two perks to level 25 if you're playing HoE and Very Long.
Also this is a way to get level 25 in all perks fast but I intended it to be for retards like me that used SAM to change stat values.
Or you could play normally and actually get good at the game?
Or you could play normally and actually get good at the game?
Not everyone has dozens of hours to spare grinding. Some people want to get to the good stuff quicker.

I never leveled a class legit and I've beaten every map on HOE (outside of new ones, too lazy) as top scorer, and beat them all solo, as several classes
leveling can just get frustrating in a game like this since you're 'locked' out of high difficulties until level 10 or so, which can take several hours, when I know I can already beat HOE easily enough with an alright team. you don't necessarily learn everything about the class as you level.
Having beaten the grind doesn't make you good at the game, a high class level doesn't mean you're skilled. A great player who doesn't have a lot of time on their hands isn't likely to reach a high perk level quickly, but will do better than a moron who has put 300 hours in just beating the grind.
Biggest problem I have with levelling in this game is that it seems to take longer to reach a level of power that feels good or reasonable or workable or whatever compared to KF1-- it's hella faster to max out a class for sure, but kind of a chore to reach the level 15-20 point where the game gives you actual meaningful boosts and abilities.

How did you do it if SAM and the map doesn't work

I've actually levelled Gunslinger legitimately with about 2 rounds on hard per few days
It's much less of a grind than fucking KF1

It really makes me wish it'd been like this in KF1
because now people are hacking their perks with the excuse of "I already grinded in KF1"

I use the excuse "because its boring as all hell to me" I grind in other games but this really doesn't feel like one of the ones I should be forced to grind in. I mean, im not going to belittle people who did put up with the grind, I wish I had that amount of patience, but im sure as hell not a lesser being for cheating it in since i've done a hell of a lot more than most people who have and have not gone through the grind regardless.
If people want to play the game they paid for, why should they be locked out of content because of an arbitrary level system?
This is my feeling about pretty much every non-RPG with a big level/rank system. Like, what the fuck, really? Am I supposed to be having fun playing the game, or am I playing the game so I can eventually get to the fun and hope the grind isn't so long that I'm burnt by the time I reach the fun. There's no personality or story to these characters, no character building. Its just an arbitrary progression system designed to drip feed content so that hopefully players will stick around. If your game needs to gate off good content behind a grind, why do I want to play your game? What does that say about your game if its longevity doesn't come from it being a fun experience but from people having to dump time in to it hoping that they'll eventually get to the fun experience.
Killing Floor isn't so bad in that regard, but it's still wholly arbitrary and artificial longevity.
If people want to play the game they paid for, why should they be locked out of content because of an arbitrary level system?
Yeah, screw progression and having things to work towards!
Those pesky game developers must be out of their minds if they think we shouldn't have all things unlocked as soon as we buy the game! Give us all these stats and perks that wont make any sense to new players. That'll work!
Give us all these stats and perks that wont make any sense to new players. That'll work!
Everything else aside, what is the difference? If a new players sees stats and shit and doesn't understand it, are they more likely to understand it when they start leveling up and its still just a bunch of stats and shit, just smaller values?
I mean keep in mind that most people here weren't playing Killing Floor 2 blind. They already had knowledge and experience from the first game. But then look at the actual people who started fresh with KF2. How often do you see a player who is in the teens for their perk but still hasn't got a damn clue what they are doing? People bitch about it here all the time, "How can you be level 13 and not know this?" and the like.
I kinda dislike the events when it makes the zombies look absolutely, utterly, unmentionably fucking stupid. If anything, just add a Christmas hat cosmetic free for everyone to use until the event ends, and throw in some christmas trees/lights around the maps somewhere.
The game is struggling to mantain a coherent aesthetic and to have all that worldbuilding & character design effort be utterly gutted by some gingerbread dude would be awful.

I don't mind it, the game isn't too serious to begin with and having holiday-themed skins for the zeds is a nice way to give some timed variation to get into the holiday spirit while still playing the same game.

goals are just there for player enjoyment. if it's not a PvP game then there's no reason not to just play in the way you find most entertaining

You're acting like the game actually had a certain aestethic in the first place
It started serious but i am pretty sure after some time they just decided to push their limits a bit
hey guys who remembers this shit
In a game like KF2, yes. My words exactly.
You do have kind of a point
I like having something to work towards myself, but locking away essential skills and stat increases behind something that takes so long is just meh
Literally the only reason to drive for level 25 is just so you aren't so useless anymore
i personally find being low level to actually be kinda fun. i don't even care about the 'progression', it just creates more of a horror atmosphere than being a level 25 badass
[editline]20th December 2015[/editline]
i wont fault people for cheating to the top, but dont go around ruining other peoples' games with it

By a bit you mean "engage the memetic frenzy".
I just don't want that repeat itself, that's all. The game started out okay and it's like there's a legit attempt at putting in more thought into the game world, and I would absolutely hate to waste those efforts with wasted memes.
It's not so much that there's as grind. I do more of those than I should.
It's non-linear grinds that become boring. Level 0 -> 5 is already a slog as it is, with pathetic starting traits, but then you wind up playing 20+ games just to go from 23 -> 24 and it's like why the fuck am I bothering?

God forbid people play the game the way they want to.

Was noted on the Steam forums somewhere when people were still in full fit mode that the people adding the cosmetics and store weren't taking anything away from the game development.
