Please tell me the sides are going to be allowed to be different again. I want each side to have unique weapons and vehicles again.
I expect so, considering in the livestream they said how the tanks aren't the same and play differently.
I really hope bolt action rifles aren't limited to the sniper class.
Inversely I hope I can get a non-bolt action as every class.
Do you think you can tell us how historically accurate the game will be?
It's about as accurate as Battlefield 4 is with modern warfare. I mean, soldiers don't get to choose from 100 different weapons in real life. It's always gonna be blown out of proportion. If a weapon existed during the WW1 era, you're probably gonna see it in Battlefield 1.
I hope there are armoured cars. I don't think they mentioned those when they said about vehicles, which is a bit strange if they're actually in.
Game looks fucking great! How anyone can say WWI is an uninteresting setting is beyond me.
Holy fuck naval battles confirmed?
They talked about it in the stream, it sounded like it acts like the AC-130 in BF3 and 4
Game looks fucking great! How anyone can say WWI is an uninteresting setting is beyond me.
Why do you only post when a new Battlefield game gets announced then disappear a few weeks after it's launch?
hopefully Battlefront means DICE has learned to launch a game
Battlefront was clearly rushed to get out before the movie. They only had 2 years to work on it. I wouldn't be surprised if Battlefield 1 has been in development since Battlefield 4 released, or even before. Man this is a let down to me. But I'm not convinced it's unenjoyable. Just hoped for something else. It really does feel like a step back unless proven otherwise. Also they should fire the guy making the trailers.
I started looking up more automatic weapon candidates for a WW1 game and there is some interesting shit out there
Battlefront was clearly rushed to get out before the movie. I genuinely hope that was their first step at launching games well, which was always a problem they had.
playable anzacs when

I honestly could care less about the setting. Once they return to their roots and look at what made 1942 fun, I'll be happy.
Why do you only post when a new Battlefield game gets announced then disappear a few weeks after it's launch?
I don't? I mean I haven't been active in the BF thread in quite a few months Battlefield isn't the only game out there, and there hasn't been much in the BF department recently. Besides that, how do my posting habits and frequency concern you?
I honestly could care less about the setting. Once they return to their roots and look at what made 1942 fun, I'll be happy.
Except that seems to be exactly what they're doing with this.
How is this a step back gameplay-wise at all?
Because it won't have 20 different weapon attachments obviously, can't make a shooter without that now
He gets hyped for everything, then vanishes.
Again, what does my posting habits have anything to do with this? DICE just announced a game i'm interested in, i'm going to talk about. If I don't have anything to contribute i'm not going to be active on a thread. I love when I start posting, people always have to criticize some irrelevant bullshit regarding me.
I feel blue balled with all the 2143 teases, but this looks great too.
I hope you can close in on each other battleships and slug it out point blank range Probably wouldn't be as awesome as it sounds in the game though
I feel blue balled with all the 2143 teases, but this looks great too.
What 2143 teases, though? There have been 2 references to it that i can think of: the BF3 drone easter egg, and the BF4 Final stand DLC. The DLC wasn't really an indication of anything as BC2 got a Vietnam DLC which didn't lead to a full game with the same setting.
Love it so far, I'll probably be able to run it but I'm going to save up for a new graphics card and cpu this summer so I can have double the chances. Kind of looks like it's running on the same engine as battlefront.

Final stand was a gigantic tease with it having the formation of the PAC, prototype Titan/Walkers/weapons and gadgets for 2142.
After really not enjoying BF3 that much and skipping BF4, I'm super fucking hyped for this. I was actually really hoping for WW2 but now I couldn't give a shit. GET TO ZE ZEPPELIN!
Please tell me the sides are going to be allowed to be different again. I want each side to have unique weapons and vehicles again.
Please don't. I don't want to have a 50/50 chance of using thé weapon I want.
What 2143 teases, though? There have been 2 references to it that i can think of: the BF3 drone easter egg, and the BF4 Final stand DLC. The Final Stand DLC is a pretty big fuckin tease.
How is this a step back gameplay-wise at all?
I hoped for a more modern setting that could've been a better podium for competitive play. While I get the games are meant to be played for "fun" in some peoples eyes, I want to experience real challenge and spit myself against top players in an environment specifically made for that. I like to study the game I'm playing. Understanding mechanics. Puzzle with how stuff intertwines and make the most of my skill and experience. Ultimately, I want to 'master' the game because thats the most satisfaction I can achieve. To be truly understanding of my craft, sort of. Now before i get the usual "go play a competitive shooter like csgo or cod instead"; These games dont offer the solid infantry gameplay BF4 had. The only thing BF, CSGO and CoD share is that they have guns. The rest works 100% different. I'm nit saying BF4 comp scene was great either, but it was a stepping stone. It allowed me to enjoy BF way more and many around me seemed to have the same mindset, especially the younger audience. I get a large portion of BF players to be console players looking for some time-killing fun without some sort of dedication or commitment to the game, playing it each day and practising to get better. Same goes for that slice of PC players who are either not interested or older players who also want to kill time after work; my dad being one of these. And I dont need 150 weapons with 50 attachments each. I actually welcome a little less copy-paste like attachments and more thought out weapon balancing. With fewer factor weighing in on a weapons performance, the little meta game present in BF4 of "what is the best to use with this gun" is no more and we can actually, again in a competitive environment, rely on more than usual luck since randomness is such a huge factor for attachments. I am just not seeing EA focus on eSports anytime soon with this title, which I find a shame. A healthy eSports community doesnt only improve the experience of us eSport players, but also pub players and "for fun" players since you wont see us stack in servers as much anymore. Also I feel like it's going to be one of the better SP experiences this time around, if this footage was SP footage.
It is pretty great that they are apparently adding Red Orchestra / Project Reality like vehicle specific classes
