Forget about games for a moment and name me 2 big MOVIES set during WW1... I sure can't. WW1 is a completely unexplored area in all the media.
The only WW1 anything in any form of media that i can think of is Verdun, which is pretty good.
I'm not going to quote large walls of text but I did say in my replies: "until i've seen gameplay footage, I'm not convinced its such a bad game per-se". I love how people filter only the negative of what you're saying. I only, like a few others, said:"I admit, this game isn't what I hoped it to be", yet eveyone with a different mindset is being slandered into oblivion since "you're such a close minded person". Ironically you people are doing the same thing. Live and let live. Stop getting upset over opinions. And reading the replies, you guys do seem right. I forgot about the horrible lock-on weapons and fleshed out arsenal. With less weaponry, you have more time to master a single weapon you like than to try them all out. I just hope they'll learn from BF4 and fix what was broken (and still is) before the launch of BFONE.

Last battlefield game I pre-ordered was 3 Unsure if it's worth it to pre-order still Friends have already said that they would buy it from it's first impression (which is a good sign, but thoughts will change with media being released up until launch) didn't touch hardline after I heard it was dead, brother bit the bullet on that one battlefront I didn't touch with a ten foot pole
The only WW1 anything in any form of media that i can think of is Verdun, which is pretty good.
I watched "The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles" where Indiana Jones goes from fighting in the trenches to being an agent during WW1. I really can't remember watching any movie set during WW1, and I watched God knows how many war movies.
There was that one Sargent York movie, and wasn't Sky Captain WWI?
Some great WWI movies All Quiet on the Western Front (both versions) Beneath Hill 60 The Lost Battalion Joyeux Noel Paths of Glory Those are some of my faves
Passchendaele too but only the battle scenes are worth it, the rest is just a shitty romance.
even that's a iffy because of the bad jesus metaphor in one of them when some kid gets thrown onto a cross of barbed wire by an explosion and gets caught perfectly as if he were crucified.
Well, that just confirms it, I haven't even heard of any of those movies and I'm probably not alone here. Except for Kirk Douglas and Stanley Kubrick in Paths of Glory (which is 60 years old already), there are no big names in any of them, nor were they some big budget hits like Saving Private Ryan or something. I only saw images from Sky Captain before and always thought it was actually a cartoon. And btw, I think that is WW2, at least looking at the planes. Edit: Well I found one big WW1 movie, and it is War Horse by Steven Spielberg released in 2011. I remember seeing trailers for it, looks like it might be worth to watch.

Which was the first talkie war film to win an Oscar (Best Director and Outstanding Production) and featured big name stars of the day. That was 1930 though :v: Though the TV Movie version from 1979 has John boy from The Waltons TV Series (Richard Thomas) and Ernest Borgnine (Mermaid Man, a lot of other roles too) There's also Gallipoli with Mel Gibson from like 86, and The Light Horseman. There's a more recent movie about the Red Baron, its OK, and Flyboys was a thing as well. And My Boy Jack with Harry Potter
I also heard about "Un long dimanche de fiançailles", according to the French, it's a great movie.
This a pretty good series, which comes probably the closest I've seen to portraying the structure of combat the most realistically. As in Platoon based warfare, though if you weren't a fan of the modern music choice for the Battlefield trailer you probably won't like this show
The original All Quiet on the Western Front holds up pretty well considering it was made in the 1930s.
I had to watch it in History class back in High School
Ok. I recorded the 1942/1943/BFBC2 themes from the streaming. I think that I never hear about this versions of the songs. It isn't a big thing but I promised. http://www.mediafire.com/download/byi2k5xb49gvgsm/BFWPSongs.mp3
That remains to be seen imo. If Tuskin is right about how they said that the battleships will work like the ac130, that would be a massive letdown. One of the most fun parts of 1942 was fully interactive naval combat.
That's not what I heard them say in the stream, I got the impression that naval warfare in BF1 would work more like 1942, as in, proper vehicles you can steer.
I hope so, I mean they aren't going to be making 1000s of customizations so they will probably focus a lot on gameplay. [editline]7th May 2016[/editline] god codename eagle has aged really badly
Some great WWI movies All Quiet on the Western Front (both versions) Beneath Hill 60 The Lost Battalion Joyeux Noel Paths of Glory Those are some of my faves
Where's "Capitaine Conan"? Also, watch "Torneranno i prati"
Stoßtrupp 1917 is the only Great War movie worth watching. I was sure there was going to be more footage at the reveal, I guess it was mostly a press event since they all got to see more. Gotta hurry up and wait for EA play now. 5 weeks and a day.
So uh, anyone have any idea on when are we gonna get more info about the game?
So uh, anyone have any idea on when are we gonna get more info about the game?
EA Play, June 12th. EA isn't going to E3 but it's about the same date.
Quick question about bf4 I just got a third copy for my brother while it was worth nothing so my whole family can play. He's really annoyed about starting from square one and I dunno if I have the time for unlocking the things he wants. Is there any exploit servers that unlock shit? Similar to what the cod ones did/tf2 achievement servers, etc? Or is it only shortcuts?
only shortcuts and assignments I think pistol shortcut is free, or it was once [editline]8th May 2016[/editline] dank [t]https://jii.moe/NkENXZDb-.png[/t]
Forget about games for a moment and name me 2 big MOVIES set during WW1... I sure can't. WW1 is a completely unexplored area in all the media.
Paths of Glory was a good WW1 movie.
I think pistol shortcut is free, or it was once
Was free like 2 years ago, glad i snacked it, fuck leveling up pistols man!
What's your CPU?
intel i53570k
I hope BF1 has guns with accurate hipfire, because I can't use iron sights for shit
I hope they have nice character customization with lots of mustache options
That poses a question: How welcome would you guys be in customisation options? I for one would not welcome the HL levels of customisation since that would be very unfitting, where as character customisation would be very nice. I do not think they'll have fully fledged out Chara custo tho :( I'll never have my moderately fat guy wielding a machine gun sprinting across the battlefield
