Does anyone know a good graphics card I should get to be prepared for bf1? ty
Unless they have a new version of Frostbite I haven't heard of, I can't see people needing more than a GTX 980 for now.
Does anyone know a good graphics card I should get to be prepared for bf1? ty
The new Nvidia GPU is coming out pretty soon, the GTX 1080.
how much do you guys think an i7 860 would bottleneck a 1080 or 1070?
The new Nvidia GPU is coming out pretty soon, the GTX 1080.
Guess since my 970 malfunctioned i could try and ask for my money back and wait for that one. They seem to be in the same ish price range?
Guess since my 970 malfunctioned i could try and ask for my money back and wait for that one. They seem to be in the same ish price range?
Yeah they are p. close
Yeah they are p. close
Then to get the retailer to actually test the card to realize it is broken as shit.
Does anyone know a good graphics card I should get to be prepared for bf1? ty
I'd get a 1080. I'm buying a brand new computer for this game lol. No way i'm going to settle on console for this shit.
I'd get a 1080. I'm buying a brand new computer for this game lol. No way i'm going to settle on console for this shit.
I would get a 1080, the only problem is I lack the money, so I think I'm going to settle on a 970 honestly. Ty for the suggestions though.

Ty for the suggestions though.
Yo hold up, a 1070 is the same price point as a 970 I believe and still better than a titan. Just wait bro. [editline]9th May 2016[/editline] They both come out around the time we'll be seeing more gameplay so that can help your decision as well.
I'm hoping a 970 can handle reasonably high settings, I just upgraded a few months ago and can't afford another upgrade to a 1070 so soon because of massive student debt.
The Battlefield 1 trailer is apparently the most liked trailer on youtube for any medium ever. http://www.gamespot.com/articles/battlefield-1-has-most-liked-trailer-ever-on-youtu/1100-6439643/ It's really quite odd. As excited as I am about it I'm still amazed by the massive amount of positive reception, and all these metrics seem almost suspicious in a way. I guess the BF v. CoD rivalry blowing out of proportion has kind of made it fashionable right now to dislike the CoD trailer and like the BF1 trailer.
I bet DICE has the biggest shit eating grin right now.
I bet DICE has the biggest shit eating grin right now.
Also a lot of pressure to get this shit right.
Also a lot of pressure to get this shit right.
Literally does not matter. Their pre-purchases and release day sales are going to matter most. If they can beat COD on that front then they'll be sitting pretty regardless of critical reception. At least they know now they have a one-up based off the concept alone.
Well I meant more from a personal standpoint, individual devs are probably pressured as fuck right now. Has Battlefield ever outsold CoD? If not this could be the turning point.

Part of why this is such a big deal is DICE has pretty much turned the industry on its head. The market right now is kinda geared towards sci-fi and the like right now and CoD and BF are duelling franchises, so with CoD taking the leap into space, a near-future game or 2143 would have been what made sense. Instead, BAM, we have a World War 1 game releasing into this current sci-fi market, which is a 180 turn into an untapped era. They've gotten a lot of attention and have a lot riding on this, a fuck up could be catastrophic for them.
They better make this game fitting to the WW1 setting. The usual Battlefield formula won't work anymore. Trenches, charges, machine gun emplacements, A SHITLOAD OF ARTILLERY. All that needs to be implemented in such a way to make it hard for players to run around willy-nilly all by their own. Really curious how they'll do this.
The achievement for getting all three endings was called "Patience is a Virtue". It's like they knew how painful it was to play the campaign. They differ a little bit now: http://symthic.com/bf4-compare?M249_vs_MG4. Nothing crazy, though.
I never completed BF4 campaign because every so often I'd load it up and it would decide I hadn't played any of the campaign at all. I must've done the first mission a half dozen times.
I am speculating when we'll see the Beta. Hardline was announced at E3 in June and had a beta that very month - with a planned October release later pushed back until March the next year, while BF4 was announced in March and didn't get its beta until the month of release, October. BF3 also had a beta at the tail end of September with an October release. We have a reveal in May but a gameplay debut in June (it honestly kind of seems that BF1 might have been planned for an EA Play reveal at some point), and the game will be playable at EA play, so they will have a build ready for public consumption then. Who knows what that means for the beta though, BF4 was also playable at E3 2013. I guess it depends whether it was Visceral's decision to have an early beta with Hardline or EA's out of fear of a repeat of BF4's launch. If the later we might get lucky in June, if the former it seems DICE prefers a beta closer to release. Either way I hope the playable build at EA Play is able to be recorded by journalists as I'm very interested to see that raw gameplay. [editline]9th May 2016[/editline] There's this paragraph on wikipedia from before the Hardline launch, but it's anyone's guess whether the policy remains.
In October 2014, nearly a full year after the official release with major updates still being put out, DICE LA producer David Sirland said the company acknowledged that the release of Battlefield 4 "absolutely" damaged the trust of the franchise's fanbase. Sirland said that the shaky release of Battlefield 4 caused the company to reevaluate their release model, and plan on being more transparent and offer earlier beta tests with future installments, namely (at the time) with Battlefield Hardline (2015).
Also to those who think that it doesn't matter how shitty the game might be and that they've already won cause publicity. Look at hardline. AAA BATTLEFIELD game; dead. Not even a year after it got released. idk if developers care how long people play their game or not after everything is released and done, but that had to have sent them a message.

BF4 was still being actively updated and had much more content, while Hardline was too similar and in many ways inferior overall. BF1's initial reception has been leaps and bounds better, and BF1 seems to be set to be a very different game from BF3,BF4, and BFH. However we're also so early in BF1's life and know absolutely nothing about it in reality. So even though everyone is pumped and excited now who knows what kind of controversies will come up as we learn more that could turn that tide. All it takes is word getting out of DICE implementing vehicles in a poor way (I imagine this is one of the most likely things set to be a point of contention) or something like that and the internet will be completely furious.
As long as you don't have games where you're completely dominated because either the enemy team had all the vehicles or you had that one fucker in a Little Bird that everybody refused to shoot down dominanting every point, i'm good.

I just wish the team doing the BF trailers would dump all those wub wub sound collection beats into deep space. Most of the time, that's the only objection people tend to point out for any of them.

DICE stockholm still are, as developers, incompetent in my opinion. DICE LA did a much better job fixing their game than they ever could have done on their own. A lot of those bandwagoning people seem to forget that every single year a battlefield game is announced after 3.
