Same here, I never really played bfront2 so I don't have a baseline to compare it to, but I really enjoy it
Holdin' trenches
Great write up, dude.
Holy shit, I just had LevelCap in my squad and talking. Battle Report
Sure enough
I need this to be in BF1, no questions asked: [vid]http://i.imgur.com/jCrLfBu.webm[/vid]
I need this to be in BF1, no questions asked: [vid]http://i.imgur.com/jCrLfBu.webm[/vid]
I'm really going to enjoy an immaculately modeled C96 with the stock and all that.
Just jumped back into BF4 for the first time in well over a year. It's hard to get back up to speed... So many maps, options, weapons, attachments and loadouts unlocked and I can't remember what's good and what's useful yet. Seems to be a whole lot of new maps and things since I last played, too. Still had a couple of decent games at least.
This game is going to torture me over the next 5 weeks. Everything is passing so slowly. I don't even want to think about the five months left until release.
I need this to be in BF1, no questions asked: [vid]http://i.imgur.com/jCrLfBu.webm[/vid]
Shame we'd only have the semi-auto though, the full auto wasnt invented till the 30's I think.
Uh yeah, the game lacked content but that doesn't mean the developers are incompetent though? I reckon it was the quality aspect of the studio that ulvemann43 was talking about
Nope, Battlefront actually gave me the thought that DICE stockholm should take a break from battlefield games, since i enjoyed it so much more than most games i ever have, and certainly any BF game they created. What i am talking about is the attitude that DICE has, the way they treat things, how incompetent they seem to be at making games actually work on release lately, and namely how stuck up and close minded they can be. Like, look at how DICE LA treated matters about BF4 VS DICE Stockholm. All i'm saying is, BF1 most likely will have extreme launch issues, balance issues and a few cases of glaringly horrible game design which will take years to fix. We are after all talking about the devs who released two BF titles in a row which were broken messes on launch, one of which still is a broken mess. So it's best not to be too hopeful.

BF4 had a bad launch but we're almost 3 years past that and besides Battlefront that's all they've made, so...? What exactly are you talking about? [editline]10th May 2016[/editline] BF4 now has some of the best netcode of any MP FPS ever so who the hell is to say that won't reflect on BF1? They've said they're actively taking steps to avoid a rehash of BF4's launch.
Then it will be a failure. That kind of gameplay doesn't fit at all with WW1
Only thing that fails here is ignorance.

You think that dice should take a break from bfield because you enjoyed battlefront - a game which somehow showed us that they are incapable of creating functional games at launch (which battlefront objectively was)...?
"Lately"? Battlefront's launch was perfectly fine, the game is incredibly well optimized. I'm mainly talking about battlefield games, and let's be honest, it's mostly DICE LA's work which made the BF4 netcode as good as it is, unless i remember terribly wrong. And i will be honest, coming from DICE, i don't believe "we will take steps to avoid what happened with BF4" until i actually see it. They did love to brag about their nettcode and about how much better BF4's was than 3, and how much better everything was, when in reality it was even worse.
Every Battlefield release has been scrappy but Battlefield 4 was such a clusterfuck it couldn't help but make waves. The Battlefront launch was damn near perfect but it also clearly didn't have the amount of content Battlefield games do so probably got a lot more polish on the stuff that went in.
I actually begun wondering what kind of content we will see in DLC for this game. Apart from what the game will launch with, what other stuff could they add in the DLC? I know it will never happen, but i'd love a dieselpunk themed DLC, sort of following some alt history theme like the secret weapons of WWII DLC which 1942 got.

He was really awesome to listen to, but one of the things he said was that he wanted to dispel the myth that DICE LA fixed BF4 completely on their own. From what I remember, DICE SW helped them a lot with the more technical aspects, and he specifically called out the tick rate adjustments as one such example. I mean, I still think DICE LA saved Battlefield (and yes I do mean the whole Battlefield) because it seemed to have been their push, even if all the work wasn't done by them. I just figured that was worth mentioning, because the guy was pretty adamant about it on stream. Take it as you will.
praise jesus
DICE are doing everything they can to appease BF vets aren't they?
are we supposed to act like a feature that's been in every single bf game ever is a gift from god?
are we supposed to act like a feature that's been in every single bf game ever is a gift from god?
And on the [del]third[/del] fourth game he rose again
are we supposed to act like a feature that's been in every single bf game ever is a gift from god?
In this day and age, where a lot of PC games anymore are console ports that don't have basic PC features like server browsers, yeah, we kinda are.
In this day and age, where a lot of PC games anymore are console ports that don't have basic PC features like server browsers, yeah, we kinda are.
The console versions of Battlefield have server browsers.
The console versions of Battlefield have server browsers.
I'm well aware as a PS4 player. My point is that a large portion of games, especially AAA titles, don't anymore, so Battlefield continuing to have them should be, to an extent, praised imo, even if confirming them to fans seems a bit hamfisted.
I don't think it's a "gift from god" it's just confirming a change after two games that used Battlelog, on PC atleast. Reading this review and having talked to someone working on the game, it seems like this is actually a project of passion for DICE. They seem really interested not only in making a good Battlefield game, but making a solid World War 1 game and showing it can be done well.
are we supposed to act like a feature that's been in every single bf game ever is a gift from god?
Well I mean there isn't Battelog and there's an actual in-game server browser now. It's good to see that stuff back.
are we supposed to act like a feature that's been in every single bf game ever is a gift from god?
yes
This game is going to torture me over the next 5 weeks. Everything is passing so slowly. Now I almost have no drive to do it since there is so little time for BF4 left.
Well I mean there isn't Battelog and there's an actual in-game server browser now. It's good to see that stuff back.
is there an actual quote on not having battlelog? because battlelog is a server browser
I just got into dicking around with the pistols; and am on a quest to get the .45. Now I almost have no drive to do it since there is so little time for BF4 left.
Five months until release bro, and I wouldn't be surprised if BF4 continues to be popular regardless. I'm really scared that BF1 won't attract a lot of new players and that it'll peter out on PC like BFH/BFront. I want it to last a long time. I plan on playing BF4 again when I hopefully get a new PC next month. Run that shit on ultramax.
I just want them to make the classes more specialized, I am tired of seeing 5 squads of 2 people who kick anyone who joins their little room while we are 200 tickets down. Maybe actually sitting the kids down and forcing them to hold hands and work together might be better and classes that can't do everything is a step towards more team play.
I want a feature that sends FBI agents to your house to arrest you and take you to gitmo where you'll never be seen again if you don't drop your fucking medkit or ammo
Iirc, in hardline you could just run up to people and grab ammo or health kits without them having to drop it.
