Is it still worth buying BF4 in a month or so?
Yes, and Sweden's national day is coming up. DICE titles are usually on sale that day.
I think a lot was lost when they made vehicles regen health, especially when it comes to jets. There's no attrition damage on jets, so you're always at full health. Back in the old days you either needed to fly over the airfield or land somewhere and repair yourself.
What bothers me about missiles in Battlefield 3/4 is that they're so dead simple and there's really nothing to them gameplay wise beyond "if lock, use ECM" or "if launched, use flares". Flares don't work in an interesting way (they did in BF2), and you can't dodge a missile by just straight up dodging it. Missiles are practically a guaranteed hit no matter what you do in the plane. If they hit you it should hurt, and when your vehicles repair on their own all that means is you just need to fly high for a bit. That's not good. Missiles should be dangerous, but there should also be skill to dodging a missile, and for the guy on the ground launching missiles there should be skill in judging good and bad times to launch a missile.
The meta is too simple.
It's honestly more a case of "if lock, use ECM. If launched, use ECM"
I seriously feel like air vehicles flat out should be unrepairable, or at least make lock on missiles hurt more. Right now they are really close range, but really hard to hit because most maps hape ridiculous ammounts of cover.
The only lock on launcher i ever see get reliable kills is the battlepickup.
Air vehicles seem like they would be at home in a situation where you really dedicate yourself to it. You're squishy as fuck, everything you do is a risk, but you can do some insane damage.
Limiting the ammount of flares, repairing and overall leaving them, could work very well, since even a air vehicle noob like me, can rack up 2 or 3 kills quickly in any air vehicle, in less time than it takes for me to get shot down.
Disable hits on air vehicles ought to last longer. It's probably not even 3-4 seconds before you regain full control and can recover from practically any situation unless you're disabled right above ground and even then that's only bad for jets.
Rockets should have more impact in general, if i remember right in BC2, if you hit a friendly chopper with like an AT4, if the pilot wasn't expecting it or wasn't very good, there was a high chance it'd crash. I think that should be the case on Mobility Kills, a skilled pilot can keep it going until it recovers but an unskilled pilot could end up crashing it or making it a sitting duck for more missiles.

The only thing they do, really, is make it easier to hit choppers with dumb fire. Extending the duration would not do jack.
Mobility hits on choppers are good for two things.
1: Makes them easy to hit with a dumb fire.
2: Makes them crash if they're doing a close to ground strafing run in urban areas.

Which is why I love the Railgun. Wait for the guy to start leaving the boundary area or change direction towards the ground (Usually on a strafing run) then disable the fucker and watch him explode. They can't ECM a railgun :v:

It felt so fucking cool to survive an onslaught of planes/ air support and go land in some secret part of the map to repair yourself with the magical wrench in BF2
really starting to like the m16a4. it's the only gun I feel comfortable using a 3.4x or 4x scope with.
still have some issues at close range fighting where the recoil pattern somehow makes me completely miss an enemy several times so I tend to switch to the glock 18 for close range stuff. I used the M320 dart on it before I had the angled grip and it was super useful.
kinda wish I could exchange my sidearm for a medpack instead

if you learn how to tap with it, you can flawlessly full auto your enemies to death, it's pretty good
I've been using the AWS lately. It just FEEL right.

Would you say you feel like a Big Boss?
Would you say you feel like a Big Boss?
Yes. If only it had a drum that held infinite ammo.
I use the PKP when i feel like going Support, sometimes the RPK. Been trying to get the M60 but nobody on PS4 plays on Oman and getting 50 ammo ribbons for Support Master is taking an obnoxiously long time. LMGs in general feel kinda underwhelming though.

Finally got the M60, it seemed to count destroying an empty vehicle towards the award? Like a guy had just gotten out of a boat and i blew it up and it seemed to count it as i got it in one less kill than i was counting. I love it so far though.

Yeah, even if the enemy bails out, there's a small amount of time after their ejection where it still counts as an enemy vehicle destroyed.
the M60 used to kick so much ass back when 7.62 was a 3 shot kill
It's still pretty good but damn if it doesn't feel a bit slow
I would love the M60 if the iron sights didn't ruin it for me.
Is it worth it to buy the dlc's, and where should i buy them?
[editline]24th May 2016[/editline]
For bf4

DLCs are being given away at the rate of once per week now

Irons are a damn sight better than the Holo you get first imo.

Well they're sorta always in the way, no matter which optic you use. Really darn annoying to aim with that gun.
Fuck unlocking other guns, I just run triple red dot 870 with the 4x scope, slugs and muzzle break. I feel like the god damn terminator if i manage to take out multiple people in a row, too good to pass up.
Except slugs are terrible.
I would love the M60 if the iron sights didn't ruin it for me.
I actually use the irons on the M60 with the laser sight, because it actually functions as an aiming reticle as well, it makes a little dot on the top of the iron thing.
Except slugs are terrible.
Indeed, buckshots are much better at slug's job... which is ridiculous.
Hell, even flechettes are, even though they are currently inferior to buckshots in 95% of situations.

buckshot & full choke on saiga 12 near OP imho
I've learnt that op locker is probs best to skill up shotguns, as they work the best there
Irons are a damn sight better than the Holo you get first imo.
Regardless of your optic preference they literally just don't go away

Man I remember the BC2 slugs. I could reliably hit targets halfway across the map with them.
Man I remember the BC2 slugs. I could reliably hit targets halfway across the map with them.
Well, hitting with slugs in BF4 isn't really the problem (in most cases at least).
The problem comes from them being totally unreliable.
They are useless at long range.
They sucks at medium range.
They are atrocious at close range.
It is a lottery if you kill that enemy you just hit or not, as there are too many variables in play.
-Did it hit upper chest or head? Maybe it hit his legs or arms and did silly damage...
-Was that player using defensive perk?
-Did your slug even hit the target you were aiming at or did it travel through a portal to another dimension?
Slugs in BC2 weren't that much better either, in terms of some silly stuff.
However they actually did some damage when you did manage to hit enemies and weren't slow as fuck.
