lol Battlefield Hardline Premium. It was inevitable.
$70 for the base game and $50 for Premium (all USD). That's $150 CAD at current exchange.
lol no
even at $120 usd that's still a no
even at $120 usd that's still a no
I bought BF4+premium at half of that. If Hardline ever turns out ot be interesting, I'll just play the waiting game once more
The "Winter Patch" for BF4 is out. Changelog can be found here.
Looks like they've done some netcode changes and added Squad Obliteration (5v5).
Hot damn, that sexy changelog.

How big is the download?
"Fixed an issue where the soldier camouflage selected would change to default between rounds"
I'm liking this fix.
[editline]3rd March 2015[/editline]
Um, did they fix the killcam issue?
How big is the download?
1.4gb on X1, about 800mb on PS4 and around 400-600mb on PC I think.

1.14 gb on PC dummy
http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/news/view/battlefield-4-community-map-project-update/
They have a poll for what style of map you would like to see.
Mountain or bust.
10+ extra frames, and it looks better on all low settings. Also, helicopter barrel rolls.
This is a good patch.
1.14 gb on PC dummy
I read an article that stated that the PC update was a lot less that 1gb. Oh well.

I would love to see a dense jungle map. At night.
I'm roughly 100 hours off from level 140.
Gotta love those double xp weekend coupled with a buttload of 200% boosters.
1400 points per minute, baby!
I'm genuinely sad for the people that have triple my playtime and still haven't reached max level.
Squad Obliteration game mode
We’re adding a new competitive game mode called Squad Obliteration with the Winter Patch. In this mode the fast paced, objective based gameplay of the original Obliteration is scaled down to 5 vs 5 size – balanced and perfected for competitive play. Here are the major differences from the original Obliteration mode:
Squad Obliteration/Obliteration differences
No vehicles, no parachute spawns
Secondary base spawns are made available
First team to destroy two out of three bases wins the round
Bomb carrier position is only known to the enemy team if spotted
Anyone have any feedback on this?
Haven't had a chance to play lately because of school but I am an avid obliteration player.
I just feel like (and I'm likely wrong somewhere on this or just very biased) from my experience, I've never liked the whole Search and Destroy or 5v5 concepts on anything but Counter Strike. To me, CS is the best game for these characteristics. Again, this is probably due to having a biased opinion since I love CS
[editline]4th March 2015[/editline]
Meant to add that my concern is mainly map layout and size. Is 5v5 doable with these in mind?
I wish they could have an option for an fps counter.
So I played Battlefield 4 yesterday for the first time in six months and DAMN it was pretty fun. I wasn't a huge fan of China Rising but all the other ex pack maps I played yesterday were pretty cool. Shame how awful it feels to play on low sensitivity but then again it's also not a "precision" shooter like Counter-Strike is so I guess I just need to get used to a higher than my normal sens.
I wish they could have an option for an fps counter.
There is. Open the debug console and write:
perfoverlay.drawfps 1
Mountain or bust.
After I saw Altai Range, I don't want anymore mountain maps.
So, after this new winter patch. Is the netcode any better? Or still the same?
So, after this new winter patch. Is the netcode any better? Or still the same?
"Better".....
Its better in terms that the server has better frequency, this means the servers can update your information faster than before, this caused some extreme bs moments where for ex props not getting updated properly, bodys getting in a position that passed before, etc. there are videos that explain this
BUT the kill trades and deaths behind walls is still present
Unlocked IRNV and FLIR for the UTS 15 on the first battlepack. That + Slugs makes my shotty a sniper.
Also have frag rounds, but I can't help to feel that dart rounds are better.
Does Frag behave like a slug, or buckshot?
[editline]4th March 2015[/editline]
Like a Slug, just tested.
[editline]4th March 2015[/editline]
Servers are getting fucked tonight. They all keep resetting.

I play BF only for slugs most of the time. The UTS-15 for sniping? hm, UTS-15 has an great damage, but every pump-action shotgun like the spas12/870mcs has alot of scope sway and extreme drawback and don't have any useful attachments such as foregrips. Only thing is are the scopes, and extended mag, but thats it. I have far better shotgun for using slugs and has great accuracy using foregrip and deals good damage. It Is the first shotgun, chinese QBS-09. plus potato grip and an decent 4x scope you pretty much can give some good headshots at mid-ranges. with it. I am trying to master it for far distances, and for headshots.
Man I remember having a blast playing the older Battlefields on singleplayer but after trying out 1942/2/2142 on multiplayer I've become so disappointed. It's just so shit. I can't comprehend why the people on those servers are even playing when they just sit by the base and wait for the helicopter just so they can crash it or throw c4 on it.
No one even does anything they just kinda stand around and shoot at the water while the two MLG-tier players battle each other.
[editline]5th March 2015[/editline]
I guess it's one of those games you had to have played on release but like christ I have no idea how anyone had fun with those games.

BF2 was fun, 10 years ago. Me and my dad used to play, in the same room, he'd pilot the chopper and I'd be the gunner :v: we used to kick ass. Some people were really fucking bad at the game
People have always done that shit but everyone who didn't stopped playing a long time ago

Camping the choppers/planes was an age old tradition practiced by the retards of that generation. People would literally TK each other just to be able to fly the thing, but before lift off were almost always destroyed by C4/rocket. This did however have the convenient effect of hiding just how OP jets really were from the general public.
Other "fun" stuff includes dolphin diving (never really fixed it) and the L85 rifle being ridiculously OP for ages. Also BF2 just feels stiff as fuck now.
I put a lot of time into BF2 but honestly I was never a huge fan of it. I preferred 1942 for how silly it was and 2142 for having better mechanics (AND TITAN MODE FUCK YEAH). Favourite is still BC2 though.
Despite the new update I'm, still getting Kill Trades, behind wall deaths and instances where despite getting the jump on someone and emptying a clip into their head, they still manage to turn round and one shot me - as in the one shot kill bug is still a thing, somehow.

Reminder that Bad Company 2 had seven patches that listed some type of netcode/hit detection/hit model fix, with the last one just giving up and making hitboxes expand based on how fast your character is running.
