so are we at a yay or nay for hardline?
Having not bought it but having played it in each beta and seen a lot of footage on it, it's good but not $60-$70 good. I'd say a good $30-$40 is decent for it. But don't forget that there is Premium as well.
so are we at a yay or nay for hardline?
This basically. I've been a fan of BF since BC2, is this any good or am I gonna want to kill myself?
Played the campaign, its easily the best Battlefield campaign since the Bad Company games.
I wonder if we're ever going to get another bad company. Probably never
so are we at a yay or nay for hardline?
The first game I played was a 0-150 Blood Money loss where the most money we had was 10 and that was the 10 I stole. So we know it's Battlefield atleast.
I wonder if we're ever going to get another bad company. Probably never
But we still have to defend America from the Russians that were invading from Alaska.
Maybe that was the end and now the Russians rule the earth
so I skipped bf3 and 4, is hardline worth picking up?
No, go back and get BF4. Ive just reinstalled BC2, I dont get how DICE doesnt understand what people love about it. It feels so solid and so simple. Theres no supression or extreme scope sway. The weapon balance is brilliant. The destruction is unrealistic but loads more fun. The time to kill is higher and the action is slower which makes Rush so much better than BF3 and 4. And most importantly you can actually see the enemy, they arent just a slightly lighter shade of brown covered in shadows. In general its more arcadey and doesnt take itself so seriously. Make BC3.
Defending Alaska was actually BC2's multiplayer IIRC.
I was never able to play multiplayer because I had it on PS3, and no internet.

Played about 4 hours and have only had one server disconnect and one crash. For me this probably the cleanest Battlefield launch I've played, and I've played since 1942 released. Really enjoying the game so far, love the maps and the setting. It's cool playing in places I actually recognize as a Florida resident. Visceral excellently captured how shitty the Everglades really are.
How's the destruction in Hardline? I was really let down by how little there was in the beta.
I really want Hardline... but I'll just wait till it's cheaper.
So I was on top of a building with my friend, fired a sraw at a chopper coming towards me, got killed, got auto-balanced and then my sraw landed next to my dead body, killing my friend as the result of the auto-balance. This game.
Just bought Hardline today. Played to episode 3 before realizing that the online battlelog bullshit was constantly saving and stopping my campaign from saving. I got to the swamp mission, fell from a tower, restarted, just to find out that I need to restart because I cannot get the grapple hook or zipline from being level 0. Quit the game, restarted. Sure enough, not a single thing saved.
Anyone else who's got the problem of getting disconnect for being idle, even though you've just joined the game? This happens to me in Crosshair only.
just got BF:hardline found out the taser exists doing a non-lethal run my first SP playthrough 2 missions so far complete
just got BF:hardline found out the taser exists doing a non-lethal run my first SP playthrough 2 missions so far complete
I gave up doing the arrest stuff so I just kill everyone.
I gave up doing the arrest stuff so I just kill everyone.
i always love stealth and non-lethal tactics so :v:
installing to my xbox now, fuck me I have like 10 games and I'm already out of hdd space on this thing.

If you want the golden setup for the tank, go with the following: AP Shell, Canister Shell, Active Protection, Thermal Optics and Reactive Armor. This is the "Golden Setup" because it sacrifices anti-tank power for anti-infantry power. The reason for this is that anti-tank power has diminishing returns compared to anti-infantry power. At reasonable skill level, you should perfectly be able to destroy an enemy tank with the standard AP shell in a 1vs1 situation. Sure, the sabot helps at a distance and HE helps when dealing with multiple tanks but it's not worth trading for the excellent splash damage of the AP shell. You need that infantry-killing power because switching to the canister shell takes a bit and if an enemy soldier pops up you need to react quickly. The AP shells deals with that. But I hear you cry "the MGs switch instantly so they're better, and you barely need to reload them!" While this is true, the MGs have very poor alpha. That is, they have a hard time dealing a lot of damage quickly. Why is this important? Because of how engineers usually deal with tanks that have their attention. They pop from cover and shoot. One engineer isn't too bad, but 2 of them and you're done. You can scratch them but they can usually shoot twice before you kill them. You can take 4, maybe 5 rockets if you're lucky before you go down. You need to counter the Pop 'n shoot tactic. How? Thermal Optics and Canister. If you know you're gonna deal with infantry, switch to canister and look in thermal mode. You'll become the bane of engineers all around the world. If they pop from cover, one shot (if you're centered enough) and they'll be swiss cheese before they can shoot that rocket. They may have a chance to get one off, but at least you've dispatched him. The thermal optics essentially makes it easier to spot infantry and reduces the chance of an ambush. Essentially when in thermal mode the game becomes a turkey shoot. You can reliably kill infantry even at very high distances, easily up to 100 meters and beyond. Active protection because duh why wouldn't you want 1 get out of jail for free card. Reactive is very important because it decreases the chances of being disabled (actually reduces the angle needed but you get what I mean) and in a tank being immobile is death. So all in all, why is it so much more important to be able to kill infantry? Because while you encounter 1, 2 maybe 3 tanks at a time (strive to isolate them to 1vs1 them though) you will most likely face a LOT FUCKING MORE infantry and they WILL overwhelm you if you can't kill them fast enough while the standard AP shell still does a great job killing tanks. Master the canister shell and you conquer the world. About Niche Equipment: Sabot and HE can be useful in some situations. The Sabot in conjunction with Optics (why the fuck wouldn't you use them together) for extreme long-range engagement, you might as well use the staff shell too because you're now dedicated sniper tank (avoid infantry, but the sabot is a railgun so you can still drag-shoot those motherfuckers). HE is used if you face a lot of good tank users. Use Staff if you want to soften them up from a distance or if you're afraid of running out of ammo, but otherwise use MGs because you want to supress and scare-off infantry. Use Zoom Optics for Staff Shell + HE or Sabot, Thermal for everything else. Guided shell is ONLY useful if you have someone that will laser designate for you. Never Use Following Equipment: IR Smoke, Smokescreen, Fire Extinguisher, IRNV Optics, Maintenance, Thermal Camo, Autoloader. Why? IR Smoke, Smokescreen and Fire Extinguisher don't guarantee that one shot will be completely negated like active protection. IRNV is just a worst version of thermal that doesn't have infinite range like thermal has, it fogs up after 40 meters or so. Being able to autorepair slighly faster, add 2 second to a lock-on or fire slightly faster don't count for shit if you're immobilized because if you're immobilized you're as good as dead. Maintenance is bad because even a normal repair tool will be more effective and it takes too long to kick-in. Thermal camo is bad because you're rarely targeted by lock-on compared to dumb-fire or wire-guided. Autoloader is useless because you shoudn't be standing in the middle of nowhere like an idiot while you shoot. You should be standing near an obstacle to retreat behind while you reload (called pillaring). Even if you 1v1 another tank, miss 1 shot and you negate entirely the benefits of the autoloader for that engagement. Want me to do any other vehicles?
TimSad's Block Party = #1 server
Time to play Hardline and see how awful the story is. Someone please tell me though, is the evul enemy still the US Militia Movement?
hardlines single player is actually pretty good
hardlines single player is actually pretty good
Well I finally fixed my Battlelog so... Time to see what's up. Also, Battlefield MP maps need to have outro cutscenes like Bad Company 2. It just makes winning the rounds so much cooler. [editline]20th March 2015[/editline] Holy fuck. Just got through Episode 2, and this shit is pretty heated for a Battlefield singleplayer. Wish it was more openworld though like BC1.
Is BF4's SP any good? Still haven't played it
Is BF4's SP any good? Still haven't played it
i did a few missions pretty boring, bf3's was better and that had an even looser narrative that only really made sense once you got to the bank level.
Is BF4's SP any good? Still haven't played it
Glitchy broken and forgotten, the story is dumb, but the assets and levels are well detailed... Only play it for unlock the M249, P90 and QBZ95 (and MACHETE, duh)
