Just got it, ugh punkbuster, yuck

Just keep it up to date and it's like it's not even there.
I used to have constant problems with Punkbuster before Battlefield 3 but it seems from then on they unfucked it. Had no problems in BF4 or Hardline.
If you're on your own connection it doesn't have problems much anymore, though last school year was awful because I lived in a dorm where ports kept becoming blocked.
BF4 only gets angry with me if I have UPnP enabled for some reason.

Trying to play BF2 was a nightmare with it.
PB in bf3 gave me blue screens all the time for the longest time. One of the most frustrating things in existence. It wasn't even just like "Oh here is a blue screen, go restart your computer and play again"
It was like "D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D loud as fuck repeating whatever the last sound was also here is a blue screen, have fun enjoying this lovely sound while you rip off your headphones and try to restart your shit"
It took me way too long to try and figure out some terrible workaround, and it shouldn't have had to happen in the first place.
So now that Hardline is out, should I purchase Hardline or stick with BF4? I do slightly prefer infantry combat over vehicles though.
With both BF3 and 4 punkbuster decided to shit its self when the 4th piece of DLC was released for both. It'd just boot me from every match after a few minutes saying punkbuster couldn't verify the version or some bullshit. None of the fixes I found worked either.

Hard question to answer. Personally I am massively loving Hardline, much more than Battlefield 4. It definitely has a more infantry focused gameplay but the overall pace of combat is drastically different to previous Battlefield games, owing to the lack of any real heavy vehicles. The game modes are also really cool; I play Hotwire almost exclusively. It really comes down to how much money you are willing to pay for a game that feels similar but plays differently. If you like Battlefield 4 and want a faster, more infantry-focused experience I'd say it's worth it, but if you are still having fun with BF4 then you could just wait for a sale and see if the DLC pans out.
i paid like $35 for hardline and imo that's worth it
i wouldn't have bought it for less than 40 though
So you log onto servers through a browser instead of the actual game?

Imo 40 or less is great since its more like an expansion pack than dlc or a new game.
Every page someone asks if they should get BF4 or Hardline.
Can we just change the name of the thread to "BF4 > HARDLINE"

I disagree with that completely.
So now I've played BF4 for a few hours on ps4 and god damn I suck using a controller, The acceleration always makes me shoot either to the left or right of an enemy when I panic. Sometimes it also feels like hits does not register, but that might be because I suck

What's this internet smoothing shenanigan by the way?

Your get use too it before you know it. Shooting at very long distances can be a total pain for a bit though
I think if you treadlt hardline as a serperate battlefield influenced game. Its amazing. Hotwire is amazing fun. I play both And would recommend both
Where's everyone finding discounted BF4 Premium? I've been monitoring the PS Store on and off and I've been anxiously waiting to get it on sale ever since I missed the last sale, which seems forever ago.
This is my favourite Battlelog error so far.

It's on 10% sale if you have PS plus. It's not a super deal but I had an urge for a little battlefielding, and considering it's premium it's an okay price I guess. Standard bf4 is more expensive right now I think
So I decided to try Battlefield 3 again today for some reason. I was just about to install when I noticed that I had Battlefield 4 in my library. Apparently I had at one point in july 2014 bought it?
I'm installing it right now, and I'm wondering if there's anything I need to know before I dive into? I've heard about this battlepack shit and I have no clue what it is. Is the game better now than at launch?

Is hard line as well optimized as BF4 or is it more demanding?

Hardline runs better than BF4 for me.

ive never had a framerate drop in hardline compared to 4 where it still has random hiccups with freezing or drops.

You'll notice that the class and vehicle balance is much better (though it doesn't prevent stacking), lots of quality of life improvements such as weapon-independent true-centered optic reticle, revive timer, nerfed grenade ressuply rate, balanced weapon attachments, balanced vehicle customization, overhauled squad perks, increased rewards for support, squad and team actions, overall more play style choices for all classes, overhauled netcode, overhauled suppression mechanic. I could go on.
Bought Premium Edition of BF4 on pc for $25 oh baby.
I already own the original edition on ps4, but I'm too much of a babby to aim with analog sticks.
Now that it's mostly fixed up, $25 for premium edition is a hell of a steal
So I am just ultra bad at this game (4) or is everyone else just mlg pro. Turn a corner, see someone, they do a snap 180 and kill me in 2 hits.
I can't fucking see anyone. Modern graphics work against this game so hard. Only map I'm descent at is 32 player locker
I swear I wasn't this bad at 2142
