Thinking about grabbing Hardline tommrow, everyone is still pretty positive on the game right?
The playerbase is dwindling, I wouldn't recommend unless you're getting it for the xbone/ps4
Jesus Christ, all these Gun Game servers with troll loadouts.
You start with a shield, then progress through a series of completely awful guns with unusable optics, going through the three bow types, then the defib and of course the knife.

Still won first though, can't keep me down even with a 10 tier disadvantage.
Can we have a game without CLAYMORE and all that stuff that kills the fun?
PLEASE?
Oh shut up, they are piss easy to spot and counter
I forgot how, but I somehow had obtained the ability to collect enemy claymores. I think you need to either be a recon or play as a class with claymores equipped. You'll get the usual "pick up" prompt

Claymores in BF4 arent a threat at all because of those huge thick wires that it shows.

Shield one is the worst.
It often relies on luck and once you get out of shield stage, you can basically outlevel everyone really quickly, because all you have against you are clumsy melee shields.
First you get the bow, then you get Hawk-12g with duckshit and frag rounds that rape shields...
I've also died like 9 times just to get those 2 fucking kills in order to get out of that first stage, while of course getting tons of <75 dmg assists..
I really hoped they would just make some sort of randomly generated weapon loadouts each round instead of predefined.

The Claymores in BF4 are probably some of the fairest mines I've seen in a multiplayer FPS. The wires are clearly visible and you only trigger the claymore if you touch them. Basically it's only effective around corners where you know people will rush.
They're extremely situational but they're good at what they do: denying an area and covering your back. If you put one down at a good angle, the enemy will see the wires but will have a hard time destroying the claymore.

Fun fact: did you know that the "Kill Assist Counts As Kill" actually counts towards your next weapon stage in Gun Game?

Man fuck no matter how hard I try to enjoy BF4 I always end up getting frustrated and leaving. It's just not fun
The maps are way too big for a measly 64 player cap so everyone gets spread out all over the map, and its almost as if every map is designed for snipers in mind, and only snipers

A lot of the stock maps feel tiny to me, honestly.
DLC seems nicer, but I've avoided buying those since EA's DLC strategy ensures that nobody plays them after the first 2 weeks.
Unrelated note: it's lovely to go on a tear with a pumpgun and see the chat fill up with people complaining about one-frame deaths and bad netcode. Gives a nice feeling of smug satisfaction.
Battlefield's DLC is great. The best maps in the game are in the later DLCs like Final Stand and Dragon's Teeth. They solve and balance a lot of the problems with the vanilla maps of the game such as the insane overabundance of vehicles. There's also a ton of people playing them. I never have trouble finding either vanilla or DLC maps.
If you can get premium for cheap and you enjoy Battlefield 4 it's definitely worth it. Premium probably comes out cheaper, but if you have to only get a few, get Dragon's Teeth and Final Stand. Those two have the best maps in game.
I don't think you should buy specific DLCs, most servers that run DLC maps run DLC maps from most of them.
Yeah, buy premium or don't buy DLC at all.
Where is it even possible to get premium for cheap? The pricing on DLC is already mad but the whole premium thing is almost criminal.
Also fuck anyone that uses Groza. I don't know why but I can literally never out-do it in a 1vs1 scenario.
Nah, it's just that everyone is using it atm since it's new, making it look like as if it strong. Give the game one or two weeks and you'll be seeing the usual M98B/AK5C pubbies again.

I'd probably be less pissed if it weren't possible for both people to kill each other despite one dying before the other.
Both Grozas are absolute dominators in CQB, though. 4-shot kills with good firerates, and the groza-4 even has a supressor.
The Groza-4 might actually be my favourite PDW now, dethroning the AS VAL.
Even at mid-range they still plow my ass. Then again I am horrific with ass rifles and pistols.
DMR is the only thing I end up using and I just can't compete with that fire rate at all.
There's your problem. DMRs have a very, very niche range (basically past assault rifle range, into sniper rifle territory), they're in my opinion a pretty weak class of weapon because the time to kill, especially in close range, is ridiculously long.
Start using assault rifles with either low time to kill (like the AEK or the bulldog) or use ones with very quick reloads (M416), you really should know how to use these things
...Yeah when you're getting outgunned at CQC ranges, you don't pull out a semi-auto. That's just asking for a butt whoopin.

I was referring more to mid-range with the DMR. If CQB ever comes up and I'm not using either a PDW or Carbine its an instant switch to secondary. G18 and Rex seem to be best for me but I'm still getting used to them.
Overall I just need to choose loadouts that fit the map instead of just what I feel like using at the time.

Once you're good with a weapon, you can pretty much use it on any map (within reason, don't bust out the FAMAS on dragon pass). I would say it is a good idea to find a weapon that does decently at all ranges, then adapt to the range you're having the most success in.
I would suggest the M416 or the AEK, both assault rifles that are unlocked relatively early, and can do some damage at short to medium range. Maps don't necessarily affect your loadout unless the map deals in extremes, such as Rogue Transmission or Golmud Railway for extreme long range or Operation Locker for short range.
Perhaps it's placebo, but the game indeed feels like it's a bit snappier. I've been able to 180 jump noscope headshot people that started to shoot me from behind with some form of reliability now.
I really want to plyay PR, but everytime I try to install it it keeps saying that Core.DLL and Core.DLL_R cant be installed due to "access denied". Any help?
So with the new update suppression works when no bullets hit the person and you completely miss, but once you start hitting the person it stops working. Not to mention the hilariously bad balancing with the new weapons, probably the worst balanced newly released weapons in BF4s history. Shit like this makes me lose hope for Battlefront
Shit like this makes me lose hope for Battlefront
DICE LA did the new stuff in BF4. They're not working on Battlefront.
Battlefront AFAIK is being made by the main studio is Sweden.
I think they did that specifically to balance firefights between players. If you're suppressed, making it harder to aim and see, it'd be a bit overkill to also get ht and have almost no hope of fighting back.
But then again, patches in every game always break something, so I'm not sure if this was intentional or not.
Speaking of this patch, what do you guy's think of it? I've seen people praising it for trying to make players use more varied weapons while others say it changed the balance too much to the point it felt a whole new game altogether.
I personally think this patch is p good, shotguns getting their well deserved buff, snipers actually requiring you to headshot and the nerfs/buffs to existing weapons encourage people to use other weapons, reducing the amount of AK5C/ACE23 spam we've seen pre-patch.
