Battlefield Franchise Megathread V1 - 'Hardline is still DLC' Edition - Games

Not bad, it's always nice to see a newbie make it to the top of the Scoreboard.

I should note that all of that was with frags and an 870 with no attachments.

The 870 ruins everyone it looks at because of the Spring Patch, but still, that's well done

After finally replacing that ugly AEK and ACW-R from my top weapons list with the 870, I learned that the Spas and Hawk absolutely rapes people even at medium range, especially the Hawk. I'm kinda scared that because of the community in general being so negative against shotguns in this update, DICE might nerf them instead of, oh I don't know, buffing the PDWs to be on par with them.

It's still up in the air at this point if shotguns are simply as powerful as they deserved to be or not. People are still getting accustomed to the new meta.

ARs are so boring to use in this game, it ain't even funny.

I feel the one-bang range isn't too bad but maybe they could do a soft nerf like reduce projectile speed. Something that doesn't make it less deadly but increases the skill needed to kill at range.

But I like the rainbow six vegas 2 style sniper shotguns they're fun

I've got to admit that it is quite satisfying to regularly get ridiculous one-bang killstreaks with the shotguns.

I wanted to buy Battelfield Hardline but I think the game isn't just worth the full price, plus the first DLC looks pretty generic. I think I should get BF4 and Premium instead.

Sorry for potential shitpost but I seriously need to vent out right now. Can someone please tell me that all of this shotgun hate is just some big ass dank maymay? I got banned from 5 or so servers for using shotguns and whenever someone mentions that word in any other BF4-related place except here, they get fucking shot down and at the same time, unleash an army of some of the most delusional and downright stupid people I've ever seen on the internet. Again, sorry for potential shitpost.

People think shotguns are OP now that they're actually useable. I agree the semi-autos (especially the DBV) might be a little ridiculous as 12 rounds in semi-auto can chew through an entire squad, but it's nothing super gamebreaking.

Again, sorry for potential shitpost.[/QUOTE] Shotguns are fine. Auto-Shotguns, as Samiam22, said are a bit on the OP side. Actually, they were stronger than pump actions before the spring update too. I think that auto shotties shouldn't be able to fire enough pellets to gib someone in one hit, otherwise what is the point of pump actions? Slugs also need some love. They should always be 1 hit kill (pump action) to the chest at close distances, yet defensive perk (FUCKING BULLSHIT, WHAT THE FUCK WERE THEY THINKING, WHEN THEY HAVE INTRODUCED THAT RETARDED PERK) totally nullifies usage of slugs, as buckshots and darts are much more effective at close range and even at distance.

Darts are literally useless. They just slightly increase the projectile speed. I think they nullify the defensive perk too but fuck that buckshot is great now.

Does anyone know how to play the Battlefield 2142 Titan Mode Online?

Again, sorry for potential shitpost.[/QUOTE] The game's nearly 2 years old at this point, even if the new meta is [I]better[/I] it's gonna seem weird as hell to anyone who's played it for a large part of this time. (also, this community's obsession with netcode is only gonna be accentuated by weapons that kill in one hit-- there's this odd expectation that you'll always have time to react when shot, despite the fact that even slow-TTK games like TF2 have things with the ability to instagib.)

Argh, I really need to make time to test the new summer patch properly but the STEAM SALES are using it all up.

is bf4 still worth getting into? like, paying for dlc and such, or even the game. I haven't played a battlefield game in forever.
