So, uh, what made smokes + IRNV get so popular after the Spring Patch? I kind of stopped playing a while before that hit, and didn't use those items much at all back then.

At least in my experience people killed me through smoke while I couldn't see anything.
I made a thing (that took me all day):

Still cracks me up. You play identical how I do with the 870. GG. I made a small montage of 870 work on one of the previous pages. Although I can't get Shadowplay to work anymore with Windows 10, I would record more :(
Aaaaa whenever I get to set up a multi kill with a pumpie like you two, it always ends up with with some dude spawning into one of them and because of smart game design decisions, end up swallowing 2 of my meat shots with their spawn protection. When it does pull off though, nothing gets more satisfying than immediately shitting on an entire squad with a UTS and silencing an entire map section.
" end up swallowing 2 of my meat shots with their spawn protection." Which makes no sense, because when I spawn like that, I usually get the black screen death. But others get a easy access kill basically. Man, whoever designed this for DICE deserves a good punch right in the face. Que the scene from Tropic Thunder when Lex gets the keyholder to punch the director in the face. "Sorry man, BOOM".

I instantly move, even when my screen is still black... that made me die a lot. Also, spawn protection bullshit is really punishing people who rely on precision shots, such as shotgun, bolt actions and DMRs to some degree.
They just need to get rid of it altogether. Spawn protection is for COD. In BF, you have MULTIPLE points to respawn, unless you are getting bummed in the uncap.
Ive been playing BC2 again for the first time in years, its still the best one IMO Using nothing but Hot Carl with extra explosives and blast radius Laughing

Though to be honest it's the first time I've tried to actively sync the action to the music and I'm pretty unsatisfied with the end result. I'm probably going to reupload with some tweaks and maybe remove the 3rd portion entirely.
Starting to regret buying Battlefield 4 now, I'm fucking shit at it, I can't kill anyone unless they are completely oblivious to my presence, I constantly spawn in and get killed, I'm almost always the lowest on the scoreboard, generally on both teams aswell.
You should play with some peeps that'll show you the ropes.
Who?
What's your IGN?
QuarterLife I'm on PS4.

Like there are small things that change that I found that would require me to get used to a new way of maintaining a decent amount of skill. Still not always very good a playing, but I'm not at a point where I feel punished for playing. Hardline was pretty easy for me to get into, easily pushed top scoreboards in that game, too bad it was a lowball here, nobody played it on release says my brother

Really breaks down the map to learn them easier. You'll know just about where the enemies are. And some of them have like a vehicle or two so you could slowly get introduced to those? That's what I at least do with my friends to get them going.

Try to use detours instead of charging head-on where a pesky roof sniper might get a lead on your head or even a sneaky tank hiding around the corner. If you do have to use the straight route, then try to atleast go from cover to cover and only check your minimap when you're in a safe spot or when you're reloading. I'm seriously trying my best to help you out here, but I'm not the best teacher as you can tell.
Level 8 and level 12 go 38 in 6 and 41 in 9 respectively. Dem smurfs

You will get good amounts of points and will likely be in top 5-10 in most matches. DO NOT PLAY LOCKERS OR METRO or you will simply rage quit. My suggestion would be to find a 24/7 Siege of Shanghai server and learn the basics of capturing flags and avoiding (or helping) with vehicle destroys. Plus, the game is much better with a solid squad.

What threw me off was the ps4-controls. I promise you it'll turn around if you just grind for a bit more. This might sound counter intuitive but I started playing hardcore more in the beginning. You lose the ability to spot people as well as the minimap but so does the enemy, the tempo can be a bit slower since you are a bit more catious. You should try it out a couple of rounds at least - enemies are easier to kill as well if you, like me, feel like you usually are the one shooting first in a fire fight but somehow die first as well

Get to know one weapon and It wont ever fail you. It's hard to get into, but once you've got the hang of it, especially after squadding up, it'll be awesome. Another thing to note: stay the fuck away from open roads unless you absolutely need to get across something that way. Ever since I started going for detours, my K/D and general SPM has gone up quite quickly, but not as quick as my early hours into the game kinda fucked it up in the long term aka now.
Also, when you shoot, don't stand perfectly still. If you can get into the habit of strafing side to side while shooting straight, you can start to win most 1 on 1 battles. It's not hard to do, but it takes practice.
So, this happened. I'm extremely proud, ehe. Only a month ago everything was div 3 or lower!
If you just want points, equip the little ammo/medicine packs and toss 'em like candy wherever there are groups of people. SO MANY POINTS. Beyond that-- speaking as someone who's felt pretty shit at the game since getting back at it --it just starts to get easier the more you play. Like, initially I felt like everyone was killing me instantly like they were using damage hacks. Then I realized that-- no, that guy rattled off 11 bullets to kill me with 4. Then you eventually get to a point where you start being able to turn on people who're shooting you with that kind of accuracy and get a kill on them.
Oh god, helpful people EVERYWHERE! Thanks for the tips guys. :D
I'd say the greatest skill in conquest is to learn the spawns. It's different for each team for each flag. When you spawn in a flag, take a second to check EXACTLY where you spawned. Learn it. Next time you're on the OPPOSITE team, if you take the same flag from the enemy remember that they'll most likely come from one of those spawns. As a rule of thumb your team will generally spawn on the side closer to your uncap with the enemy spawning on the side closer to theirs. There are exceptions: some points have spawns shared between the two teams and the game will always try to spawn you away from enemies when it can (so it might switch you from the usual side). Use this information to your advantage. Once it becomes second nature you'll always have a rough idea of where the frontline will be and where the enemy will come from based on the current flags captured. Also important is to learn that some vehicles spawn on some flags. Try to learn exactly where they spawn and USE THEM! Even if you're not an engineer would you rather face that vehicle or have it on your side? On the flip side you should try to steal unattended enemy vehicles spawning on enemy points.

Other players usually anticipate it & cover the vehicle in C4 if they don't just take themselves.
Learning spawns is something for vets though. That takes time. :P I got C4 usually setup on all vehicle spawns in the area before taking flags (or at least the important areas). And I position myself where incoming flag spawn can't see me or get to me. Or I leave C4 traps. But I also have 1000 hours in BF4.
