Battlefield Franchise Megathread V1 - 'Hardline is still DLC' Edition

I think BF4 looks the same if not better, and in either case it certainly performs better
Well glad they made an Open Beta. Now I know Hardline is a shittier BF4 and I ain't gonna buy it.
After a bit of thought, I think they should rethink how they do asymmetrical weaponry.
Get rid off common weapons like H5K or that RO558smth, make it like in BF2, every side has its own weapons. They still can pick up other's nation kit after killing someone.
Get rid of weapons on Helicopters and some vehicles. Police could have a chopper where they can chase people and allow side gunner to fire (GTA style, some dude with a sniper or whatever shooting ground targets).
I do think that criminals should have access to some crude powerful weapons, such as some sort of RPG, while cops shouldn't have any sort of launcher like that, instead high tech tools and utilities, like smoke or gas launcher, which they could fill rooms with.
Game seriously feels like Army vs Army in Cod world with cops and robbers skins attached to them and some vehicles to drive or fly around.
I'll give the Beta a shot, i had a quick half an hour on it yesterday night. It's alright, i guess? I don't know. I need to give it more time.
I doubt i'm going to buy it, really. In the end of the day, it is pretty much Battlefield through and through no matter how you look at it.

You can equip Cop specific weapons using battlelog.

Yeah but that's a bug and not how it's supposed to work in the system that Visceral have made.
Who the fuck uses SCOPES on revolvers?!
americans
Yep, physically cant play this game through the stutter, funny how a £1k computer can hold 60fps solid yet keep stuttering.
Happens on both my rigs and so many games come out with stuttering now that they wonder why pc gamers torrent.
It's your CPU.
In what way, unless its their fault i doubt it's my end.
Didn't BF4 have special reloads that happened on like a 1% chance? Maybe that was it.
BF4 only had one of those easter egg reloads for the unica 6
I remember reading hardline will have one for each weapon

Yeah, devs confirmed that every weapon (even battle pickups) will have one goofy animation.
Played about 3 hours, had a lot of fun but suffers from the same issues every Battlefield game does. The vehicle physics aren't nearly refined enough for a game that emphasizes vehicles this much.
Every Battlefield game since they switched to the Frostbite engine. Battlefield's vehicle physics used to be great in 1942 and only turned to shit starting with Bad Company. It's hard to figure out what might be the reason for it, but the effects of it are dumb things like the magic self-righting force, vehicles rubber banding over obstacles, getting stuck in ridiculous places, and at least until BF4, tanks and IFVs with brakes on sliding down really shallow inclines.

Yeah, but there is this. After getting those 300 kills, the licence costs 50k cash.

this just about sums it up for me so far
Is there a way to get those rude-ass "______ Syndicate" Achievements in the beta?
I'm not leaving it without the double barreled shotgun
How long will the open beta last?
I wanted to make time to try it out this weekend but I don't even know if it will still be available then.
It goes until the 8th
Having fun on PS4 conquest though I don't know if I actually want this game at launch considering how buggy BF4 was. The frame rate drops are also pretty annoying.
So what's the general consensus? To me- I appreciate the increased recoil. I like the fact that player movement is a bit faster. These two maps are a little boring, but at least at first impression they seem slightly better designed than BF4's. I also like the way they tend to funnel players into concentrated areas.
So far the biggest issue for me is lag and vehicle physics. It really blows my mind how it's possible that the apparent "netcode" is a step back from what BF4 is right now. I'm getting kill trades and rubber banding. The biggest letdown, somehow, is the vehicle physics. How the heck are they going to hype the game based around the vehicles so hard when they feel fucking terrible to drive? I prefer simulation but there's a fine line between arcadey and just floaty and stupid. The cars feel slow and boring to drive and the collision detection alone is a big enough issue to be a gamebreaker. It's seriously so laggy, you can drive a motorcycle head on into a semi and just lag right through. Speaking of the motorcycles - I laughed so hard it hurt. The collision on the vehicles is like pre-alpha level right now.
Yeah I tried it out for about an hour yesterday. I get better framerates in BF4 with higher graphics settings than Hardline at all low. Dust bowl is practically unplayable (that comes a lot from me since I consider around 15 fps and above playable, 10 and above for singleplayer games).

Yeah that's one thing I noticed. People were really critical in the preview videos about the recoil, but its pretty noticeable when actually playing it (with the stock guns). I guess grips really make a difference but I haven't tried them out yet.
So is the lack of destruction just because it's a beta?
Because I would enjoy Hotwire a lot more if my car wasn't stopped dead by a picket fence.
Holy shit the sandstorm is a fucking joke. Even the sandstorm on Gulf of Oman in Battlefield 4 was better.
"WOOP WOOP
thats the sound of the police"
*initiate awesome hardline car driving*
i wish there was a way to select favorite radio song so it goes to that every time you get in a car
The first time I heard a car drive by and had to be like. "No? Death Grips? How??"

Practically nothing on Dustbowl is destructible. It's honestly disappointing and I'm not really someone who cares about destruction that much.

Fucking Death Grips is in? Holy shit. I heard The Ripper by Judas Priest, pretty good.
Is it just me or does Dust Bowl just look really ugly? all the ground and wall and shit textures look extremely flat and just bad.
