The LAV is really great for fighting choppers now that they've increased the vertical reach of the main gun. Canister shells in particular will chew them up.

Oh, I guess that explains why I've been having better luck with IFVs against helicopters.

I was thinking about it and if the 3 C4 to destroy a tank is as big a problem as people seem to think, then maybe the turn speed of the turret should be reduced to more realistic speeds. That way it will be easier to dash up to a tank and get c4 on it without it begin able to snap the turret to you and blow you away, but it also makes having a gunner even more important since they would be the main way of deterring people trying to plant C4 Only thing is I imagine the people who do nothing but drive tanks 24/7 would whine unendingly about a perceived nerf against their favourite thing [sp] like how the people who do nothing but use C4 whined about the changes they got[/sp]

Man, the Stinger changes really are something. The Stinger packs a hell out of a punch now. Next time you're on an open map, use the Stinger and see how well you do.

It was already quite a useful deterrent before with the constant 20 damage, but with 50 damage, heli pilots just straight up nope the fuck away as soon as I get a lock-on, let alone a rocket out.

Only downside is that they severely reduced the range of the mine and you can only have one at a time. A few days ago I managed to take out an enemy helicopter by planting an AA mine and getting a critical hit on it, then finishing it off with an RPG. This happened after I had to make an emergency landing on my own helicopter. I wish I could've taken a video but Shadowplay wasn't working at the time.

I unlocked the AA mine the other day it's so great hitting a heli with a dumbfire rocket It stayed in the air for a few more seconds before exploding or something I wasn't looking at it at the time

How do AA mines work exactly? Do they fire upward like the way a mine triggers with vehicles or do they fire the way they are facing? Whenever I place a mine they never seem to do anything, just sit there and be useless. Had helos fly past and above them with no response.

I would probably use the AA mine if the helo is specifically targeting you by lining up his shot. A quick deployment will definitely get it off your back or fuck him up bad. They increased the damage to it didn't they? Just lower range of lock-on but also less time to fire. Like a mine. Any other ways of random deployment would be just dumb luck he flew low enough over it.

Sure, C4 got nerfed and it objectively sucks, but I don't think that's enough to warrant a full uninstall, especially since you've spent Premium for it along with 2 or so more patches incoming where they might revert/change some shit.

Recently I have been getting issues when I knife someone from the side, it suddenly turns into them frontally knifing me and it happens so fast that I just cannot counter knife them. Its pretty damn frustrating to get locked into this animation and then to get fucked even harder by its broken mechanics.

Despite all its flaws, I still love knifing in Battlefield. I'd probably just get rid of counter-knifing but I can live with it. I mean at its core it's just a humiliation move so it's not like it's meant to be a super important part of the game.

Its really dumb that Knife in BF4 triggers execution animation, rather than deal a damage for each knife swing.

Recently upgraded my pc, gave my old pc parts to my dad, he can now play BF4 on the pc which is awesome we can both play on the pc together like we used to, woop

We should try to set up some fp squad stacking before fo4 drops and everyone loses themselves to it.

Just finished the campaign, pretty brainless fun with some snazzy setpieces. Guess you can't complain too much (even if it is horribly buggy and your squadmates are useless unless you press Q), plus I apparently pulled off a great shot or two.
