hardline really needs custom car radio playlists like gta 4 on pc
I'm not sure but I think the hacker used a quote from this...
Friend just went 27-1 in the transport helicopter I flew. It's ridiculously overpowered when there are no AA options available.
[sp]we still lost because battlefield players gonna battlefield[/sp]
I've had people say this to me ingame while flying the heli, however I can speak from experience and say that when someone's gets the stinger, you're boned unless you want to camp somewhere til your flares are back. On Dustbowl you're pretty much fucked if anyone gets the stinger.
I'd say it's overpowered in hotwire but it's pretty crap at taking out infantry due to the lower fire rate and no splash damage - it's like a peashooter compared to the miniguns on BF4 helis.
While i do agree with some of the things said about Hardline i do find it immensly fun. (I've had zero connection issues or problems with hit registration so far during my 11-12 games.) Sure, I'm probably not going to buy it at launch but me being a sucker for cops & robbers I'll definitely get it at some point.
Here's my overall thoughts about Hardline so far;
+ Car radio is boss.
+ Vehicle handling is improved.
+ Interesting maps.
+ Cops
+ Robbers
+ Attack Cars were removed entirely as far as i can tell.
+ Hotwire
+ Heist
- Cop/Crim restricted guns. (I mean, who wants to buy the same gun twice for each faction?)
- Decrease in destruction.
- Vehicle collisions still suck.
- Helos are OP, sure, with a good groundside-team you can take 'em out with small arms-fire but if there's zero coordination then you're legitimately screwed.
- Helos are weak, if your teammates have no idea what the fuck they're doing even the dumbest schmuck could bring you down with his AR or a picked up LMG.
- Deployment UI is very... clunky.
- Some elements of the in-game HUD feels very small and confusing at first. (Health, vehicle health etc.)
But yeah, that's what i can think of right now. Also, i dunno why some of you are complaining on the animations when half of them are reused from BF4 while the rest are fairly polished IMO. I mean, it feels like some you are just hopping along some hate train without providing good examples of faulty animations.
There's still one attack vehicle in the game however I think it only appears on Dustbowl Heist at the moment for the cops side. It's just a typical armored truck except it's got a turret on top that the driver controls.

Admittedly we did our spree on Downtown but whenever someone got the one Stinger on the map we simply flared a missile and by the time they could fire again we could LOS it using skyscrapers.
The main strength isn't necessarily it's damage (though as you say it absolutely murders Hotwire objectives) but the fact that it's mostly immune to non-Stinger damage because you can fly so high and so fast that unless you have a truly coordinated team (which never happens) it can just run back and repair. I like the idea of no explosives but Stingers need to be more prevalent or just straight up given to mechanics. I see a huge helicopter problem when we are months after the main games release and pros are flying the scout helo in particular.
I dunno how many people know this, but G changes the song in the car
I'm really fucking loving Hardline so far, but then again I never felt like picking up BF4 so I'm going straight to it from 3.
So I just went 0 kills to 0 deaths but came fifth because of our chopper team. Good times.
My friend got a minigun and boy they are good. All we do is play hotwire and go heli team and it's honestly some of the best fun I've had in a game.

Only recently did we find a guy who was willing to rep the whole match so up until then we were often getting wrecked by stingers and snipers. Have to say the AWP with Magnum rounds is really OP - had a fair few occasions where it's straight up one shotted a 100 Health transport chopper for some reason.
So is the lack of destruction just because it's a beta?
Because I would enjoy Hotwire a lot more if my car wasn't stopped dead by a picket fence.
It isn't a beta. Beta's are used for testing, feedback and bug fixing. The game is already usually developed by this point anyway. Furthermore, how are they going to bugfix when they have at MOST 3 weeks before the game goes gold and is to be printed to disc. There's no time to do ANY overhauls or changes to the core game at this point. We are practically playing the full finished version
if it's a problem that seems like some internal ini tweaks could fix it, sure. If it's issues with maps or something that needs testing itself before being implemented, forget it

The force is strong with this one.
How to win at Hotwire:
1. Get a squadmate who has a torch
2. Hop in the nearest marked sports car
3. Don't stop for anything and drive around in circles wherever the least action is
4. few roadkills, fewer deaths, get loads of xp and cash, MVP status, team wins
This works anytime when the opposing team can't be arsed to set up an ambush which happens quite often from my experience.
Drawback: its boring duh
How the fuck do you get proper windowed mode at specific resolutions?
Resizing it manually just ends up making the game blurry as fuck and gives it black bars. It's either full screen, or a small window that makes it hard to see shit, especially with those massive objective icons that block half the screen.

...there isn't an option in graphics for windowed, and then choose your resolution like in BF4?
...there isn't an option in graphics for windowed, and then choose your resolution like in BF4?
When you do that, it just uses the small default size, or whatever size the window was last adjusted to manually.
why do guns on helicopters exist in hotline
once a team gains air superiority the entire game is over.
take away the guns so the "Transport helicopter" is actually a transport helicopter in hotline
Heavy Barrel + Angled Grip actually makes the starting Operator weapon pretty good.

Transport helicopters have never been about transporting people in Battlefield.
Transport helicopters have never been about transporting people in Battlefield.
this is battlefield:hardline, a game about cops vs robbers.
the last thing a police helicopter needs is two huge machine guns.
i can understand why they are there in conquest, but in hotline they make heli's OP as shit.
it would be cool to use the helicopters as a spawning tool to spawn over cars. but in a game where there is barely any anti-air weaponry its insane to attach guns on them
the ground weaponry that exists is already good enough to stop hotline cars in their tracks.
Okay please tell me there's a way to dim or shrink the objective markers.
These things are huge, take up too much of the screen, and make it impossible to see enemies when I'm facing them.
Not going to lie, besides the fact its battlefield and they added it for the sake of it i kind of dont like the fact that it just does the typical balls out American movie style "Shoot the fucking shit out of everything regardless of anything"
Like, they even have destruction, when was the last time someone knocked down a fucking construction tower or a skyscraper in a fucking bank heist ever?

I think the idea is that it's supposed to be a Hollywood style Heist where crazy shit happens just because it's more exciting.

I mostly thought that would just be the campaign, i dont know why i expected a more realistic version of a heist for the online, it is battlefield post Bad Company so i cant expect any different heh

Okay, let me put you into a 64 man GTA server or whatever. Sure, shit will be crazy spectacularly all the time, the value of that crazy spectacular shit will drop so damn fast. You are over saturated with it, as there is no breathing room, it's a constant chaos.
If you find that exciting, holy fuck.
For me, you need to dose it instead of pouring "exciting" stuff 24/7 on my face, as exciting stuff loses its excitement value very fast and actually becomes an annoying chaos.
To be honest, I had more exciting moments in ARMA series than I had in recent Battlefields.

Sometimes I just spend time walking/driving/flying around the map alone and enjoy the scenery, testing guns, and whatever, instead of joining the 64-player clusterfuck.
I really should try smaller servers.

I have played only 32 player servers in that beta.
My opinion is based on that.
Considering how small maps are, I can just imagine the fuckfest on higher populated servers.

I haven't tried the Hardline beta but I can imagine how it is. Makes me wish I had spent money on Arma when it was still in alpha.

idk Arma is the game where I walk around for a bit then get shot, I'm having fun in Hardline driving muscle cars while my buddy hangs out the side firing RPG's and throwing breaching charges on the road behind us. Different strokes for different folks.

I've been playing on 64 player servers for the beta; actually having a shitload of fun with it. I get sad when I don't have the ability to use the zipline easily between building haha
-Snip, opinions are a bad thing apparently-
I only ever play 64 Player on really big Conquest Large maps like Paracel storm.
So far on Hardline I've just avoided 64 player, it just doesn't seem like it would lend itself to that many people.
So because of Hardline I started playing Bad Company 2 again. While I'm pretty bad, I'm having great fun, more than I ever had in BF3/4 to be honest.
