Battlefield Franchise Megathread V1 - 'Hardline is still DLC' Edition

I heard of it. Seems like the ultimate tryhards paradise
Man, I underestimated how fun being a recon recon is. Just sitting back in a safe area spotting an entire piece of the map for my squaddies was great. Every "Spot/Squad Spot Bonus" felt just as satisfying as a real kill, and I even got an MAV frag by blowing up someone's explosives as they walked over them.

I try to play like this sometimes, but no one ever uses lock-on shit with my SOFLAM or that lock-on binoc shit

That's always the way. Every time you're a sniper with a SOFLAM no one uses the lock on, every time you're an engineer no one is using a SOFLAM.

Accept me please, i'm KribyRudy.

Also, nothing feels more satisfying than getting 50k exp in a single match.

It is great when you're playing with a friend doing a soflam/javelin combo. I think they recently nerfed it, but being able to take out scout choppers in one hit was great.
Yesterday I finished phantom trainee,
That means I also got the twenty jet kills
I've been getting a lot better at fighting, still needs to improve manuevering skills
But I found the rockets that allows a lock on to other laser designation targets, so I've been dying to have my friend play recon again with the PLD.
Also asking people to throw flares at dense enemy areas os great because anyone flying past can provide some backup with a clear indication as to where they are (I play a lot of hardcore)

the phantom assignments made me better at the game personally. drove me to actually get used to the vehicles ingame
now im sitting on like, 1700 kills in a tank or something with 250 hours total playtime.

I'm only tank and roadkills away from the other two assignments
like, 140 MBT, so It will take some time
the 24/7 silk road server is usually populated, although I'm usually the gunner seat
roadkills are a pain though here, looks like you should have hit them but no server registration

i got the roadkills using a snow ski on operation whiteout, me and my friend drove around hunting enemy snipers and just ran them over; always great plowing through 5 people in the small corridors in the base, even if they kill you the ski carries on and kills them :v:
I'm 7 roadkills away from having all the phantom assignments done but the bow one, but fuck that one.

For some reason, I find it really funny that you refer to your score as exp.
Played too many MMOs recently?

But that's what it is, XP you use to progress through levels. It's been used outside of MMOs since...before MMOs even existed

True. I guess I don't see it as exp since I've reached max level a while ago.

Though in BF4 it's referred to as "score" in every stat page.

What I meant to say it's what people refer to it as, at least what I usually hear
Found a bug

Got that with a ATV

Every other game uses XP instead. It's like in Dragon Age they use "Health Poultice" instead of "Health Potion", but it's a potion.

Don't drink ointments

In DA2 and Inquisition they use potions. Inquisition even has a bit where someone yells at Iron Bull for drinking a poultice.
You know what amazes me; there is still carrier snipers, even with the marksman bonus removed.
WHY
You know what amazes me; there is still carrier snipers, even with the marksman bonus removed.
WHY
Because it's fun to shoot the long headshots.
People did this in BF2 as well, you know.
You know what amazes me; there is still carrier snipers, even with the marksman bonus removed.
WHY
Well marksman bonus wasn't a thing prior to BF3 but it happened there, i don't know why you're shocked
I love sniping, don't get me wrong. But I see snipers being effective within a what ... 200 meter range aoc. Even that is pretty far away for me. My longest headshot is 297m and I think that's a looooong ass range.
I usually play snipers more agressively. Sure, not everyone loves to play the agressive recon, but I can't see the fun in waiting on a hill or carrier away from the combat, trying to snipe some easy kills.
If I may be frank, I'd much rather have someone who's ptfoing in my squad. I usually kick these players, too.
IS there gonna be more Free maps?
IS there gonna be more Free maps?
Seige of Shanghai night and Golmud Railway Night exist on the CTE, so I'm going to guess yes.
You know what amazes me; there is still carrier snipers, even with the marksman bonus removed.

Marksman bonus removed? What do you mean? You still get marksman bonus?
Marksman bonus removed? What do you mean? You still get marksman bonus?
No you don't. it will only show what distance you shot him from and you'll only gain a extra 25 points no matter how far away he was. So if you headshot a guy with a sniper at a distance you'll get 150 points.

This.
So if you manage to get that 1200m headshot, nice! Cool for your stats, but it'll have no other meaning really.
a 500m teamkill has no meaning whatsoever
