I held the mouse backwards in my left hand and did three songs on it. Back to normal and it feels completely fucked, like it doesn't feel right at all now.
Reminds me of that time I played with an xbox controller.
Man that was so much fun, I need to figure out how I did it and do it again.

Osu with a laptop trackpad sucks ass, but I think an xbox controller would kick ass for Mania. Thanks for the flashback, I remember now that I used to play GH3 using my PS2 controller.
I got to expert on GH3 with a wiimote. It was awkward as hell.
i used to play DDR with a PS2 controller whenever i didn't feel like moving my feet
and i could do most expert songs on GH3 with a xbox controller
it was an interesting experience using the thumbsticks to strum

I thought you just pressed the triggers and then A for Orange, maybe it's different on 360 since I did it on PS2.
I know its not, but the fact of the matter is that pppy still has control of everything related to osu!, and even if Tom wanted to release the calculation equations I doubt pppy would let him. The only things we know about the pp calculations are speculation.
[7:08:28 PM] Jesse: hey tommy will pp calculations ever be public
[7:08:35 PM] Jesse: or at least weightings calculations
[7:08:46 PM] Tom: i want to make them public
[7:08:57 PM] Tom: the wiki article is written roughly already
[7:09:00 PM] Tom: so you can read through it
[7:09:06 PM] Jesse: yes pls
[7:09:13 PM] Jesse: when will it be public
[7:09:16 PM] Tom: then do XD
[7:09:20 PM] Tom: its on the wiki already
[7:09:21 PM] Jesse: oh?
[7:09:23 PM] Tom: not ultra details yet
[7:09:31 PM] Tom: and nothing about difficulty calculations yet
[7:09:35 PM] Tom: but math formulas will follow
If you say so.

pardon me for going off of previous precedent and not knowing how to directly contact tom for information
its better to take everything skeptically and then be pleasantly surprised, which this definitely is
oh the top scores on user page actually shows every pp giving score, with the pp it gives, in order from highest to lowest
too bad that beating two three year old As has given me no extra pp (also "good" to see that some rather hard insanes give like 20pp)
So many old terrible scores to do better
but will it be worth it?
I'd love to play later but I gotta work a bunch, maybe on the weekend though we can all find some chill time.
Sounds like a plan.

i seriously thought it was GH3, but it must've been GH2/GH1 (which i played on PS2). i just tried it out now and it's as you said, Triggers do first 4 buttons, A does orange. And let me tell you, it's still as hard as ever to quickly hit RT/LT. And analog sticks did whammy bar.
i legitimately swear i played one of the GH games where you had to strum with the analog stick but maybe i was mistaken?? There could be an alternate control option buried in the menu but who knows.
i also never actually owned the GH3 guitar, i just had the xbox360 GH2 guitar even though i only owned GH2 on ps2. :v:
Also did anyone else here regularly play GH with lefty flip on?
This crap apparently gave me a bunch of pp and ended up in my top ranks.

I wonder what it'll give if I actually do it properly. Need to get better.

So close to get this too

I started playing the Guitar Heroes on PS2 controller with Lefty Flip on
masochism is fun

the best part is GH1/GH2 flip the buttons around, GH3 doesn't.

Sequence has a soundtrack made by Ronald Jenkees?!?
I LOVE THAT GUY
so i spent some time after work today timing some songs i had laying around for practice
one of them is literally time signature hell and i'm going to tackle it some other day, but most of them were pretty easy.
i'm pretty sure one of the songs i had is ~370BPM at one part too. it's a radical as fuck "solo" that lasts 1 minute at 370BPM halfway through the song and i'm not sure anyone would ever survive but that's okay because i doubt i'll ever map it. i'm not sure how you would even do a normal/easy diff for that part.
then there's this song that has a tricky middle that slowly increases in speed, and i'm not sure if i timed it wrong or if i'm just bad at accuracy (i did this without looking)

all of the notes are on beats, and the BPM slightly increases every other bar (and just watching it now, a few of them has "double bar" so it's improperly timed)
there's a certain point where no matter how much you play a song back at 25% speed, adjusting offset/bpm by the millisecond, it is just too hard to tell a difference

Never enough Vib.
i guess i'm on time today to post about osu multiplayer
although i've been having an extremely annoying lag that lasts for 1 second that happens every 30 seconds where no inputs register and all visuals skip so i'm going to combo break whether i want to or not

I've been having that for months.
anyone know if it's possible to get a decent beatmania controller anywhere, preferably for at or under $100? closest i can find is this, which actually looks pretty good and is on sale. but i can't really find any reviews on it so that's a little worrisome.
there's also gamo2 but like hell am i going to spend $400 on a fucking controller.

i was actually thinking of making my own controller using some buttons and an interface, simply because i can't find a good cheap one. it'd be more fun that way too
probably through in a joystick too so i could use it for other things

This reminds me, does anyone here use a Wii remote guitar with phase shift? Is there any lag?
I want to get a Bluetooth dongle so that I can use the remote with my PC however I am so sure there will be lag in the input that I am half tempted to just search for a PC guitar (do they even exist?)

wireless anything will have an extreme delay
guitar hero xbox 360 controllers work, although those are also wireless p sure
so if you can find a wired guitar controller with a usb that would be best. ps/2 is better, but you're never going to find one of those without modding a controller
