Go to the file in your dropbox, and copy the direct link, not the link to the built in viewer.

Where is the "Copy Public Link" from? I can't find it for the life of me.

Lets see if it works on puush...

Make sure the video is in your public folder, and then right click on the file (in windows explorer, or on dropbox's website) and copy the direct link. It's right there for me.

puu.sh also works fine. Probably allows more bandwidth usage compared to dropbox actually.
remember, newer dropbox accounts dont have this public link iirc

ah damn, that'll be it then. I can still use puush though so it's fine.
In other news Guitar Hero DS is more awkward to hold than I remember. I either play well with neck ache or play poorly in a weird position that doesn't hurt my neck.
Yeah, just ran out of public bandwidth on dropbox so I switched to puush anyway.
Oh wow, didn't even know this thread existed.
Is there any way of streaming your fingers while streaming with OBS? I stream beatmania and stepmania for my friends sometimes and people wonder what my fingers look like (4key stepmania looks pretty funny sometimes).
I don't have a webcam or anything, my only camera is my phone. Is there any kind of ghetto setup I can make with my phone?

Not really, just get a cheap webcam they're like $10
So osu! added the ability to draw things in game

Hmm, sure I typed out a big reply to this yesterday...
Anyway there is a thing called IP Cam for android, look it up and try out the different options (I have only used in browser viewing and it worked fine, with maybe a seconds lag though). Other options might have no lag idk I haven't bothered to try yet, but it gets the job done if you don't want to invest in a webcam.
If you do get a webcam though be sure to get a HD one, they go for cheap so buying an SD one isn't really worth it.
You are shitting me.
Some dude parked his slick fucking Audi outside my house, meanwhile I'm on an absolute killer combo, almost about break my personal best. About 15 seconds from the end of the song, the sun reaches the exact angle where the rays bounce off the hood and directly into my retina. The whole world turns white, I can't see shit, song failed, no high score, the end, fuck life.
Am I the only one who plays Stepmania on pad (DDR/ITGfag here)?
Am I the only one who plays Stepmania on pad (DDR/ITGfag here)?
I would play on a pad but it makes too much noise, plus the pads that came with the ps2 games break after a few years of use (and they slide around, absolute hell to keep them in position).
Do you use a metal pad? I always wondered how durable they are, sometimes at the arcade I feel like I might break the buttons from stepping too hard, probably just shitty arcade machines tho
cobalt flux pads are p.good iirc

What the hell, I have to download beatmaps for OSU? Why can't I just use the music I already have?
in Osu, every song has a user-created beatmap for songs rather than it being procedurally generated. Mostly because procedural generations for songs could be incredibly innacurate and is likely to go offbeat or have weird rhythm compared to an user-made one.
Speaking of osu, fuck the streams on insanes dfghjdfsgsdfghjsgs

I'd definitely get a metal pad if I could afford one.

Considering how detailed the maps are, it would be impossible to make maps like this playable.
Instead of games like guitar hero where it's just a stream of notes, with OSU you have to consider where the bubbles go on the screen, instead of just "beat at this moment" it's "beat at this moment on this place on screen".
osu!standard would probably be one of the easiest rythym games to auto generate
just take a few specific bands of the audio and place a note on the screen based on them when they reach certain thresholds. Osu can only have a single note at once, and the only thing you have to worry about is it's positioning. Obviously you need to worry about the spacing/flow when mapping it yourself, but if you were to compile a list of patterns to occasionally pull from when placing notes along with free-form placement it would be pretty dang accurate. Sliders might be a little hard to pull off because you would have to check for a sustained note in the bands with pitch shifting accounted for. Obviously this is all actually very complicated, would require a lot of work, and a lot of programming know-how, but it's definitely one of the easiest games to do it for excluding osu!ctb or osu!taiko.
Meanwhile a VSRG like guitar hero or beatmania games would be a lot harder imo. You can have anywhere from 4-11(+) keys at once, and any number of them can be a regular note or slider. And like with osu!standard, they have a horizontal positioning that matters quite a lot, although you lose the vertical positioning. I'm not sure of a way to actually detect multiple notes at once unless in a very specific sampleset, so you'd end up with maps as terrible as autoconverts in osu!mania; which converts single notes into chords based on patterns and hitsounds and places them pseudo-randomly based on vertical/horizontal positioning in standard mode.
Honestly i can't think of a single free rhythm game that you don't have to download song packs for that doesn't just do simple beat detection and randomly place notes. Audiosurf and vibribbon are the only ones i can think of, although they aren't free, and the maps don't coincide with the audio pretty much all of the time.
For every other rhythm game, someone somewhere is getting paid to time/map every note. And they can ship the songs/maps with the game itself because the developers pay for the licensing for them.
so ive been dragging for as long as ive been playing osu (about 4 years) and ive seen a lot of people lately say that hovering is way more effective and much better once you get used to it. is it worth switching or is it more just personal preference?
now streaming sound voltex, real fun unique game

i've always wanted to play sound voltex... how would you say the difficulty is compared to beatmania?

really easy in comparison, but takes some getting used to, if you're pretty good at beatmania you'll be on exhausts in a credit or two

Or rather the hp build up is pretty much nonexistent.

I guess that applies to the non hr version too
