Recently got an off brand guitar hero controller, a frontman by nyko for the ps3. I understand there was a patch to stop third party guitars working, is there any work around?

Also I doubt you can get around it unless you wanted to jailbreak the ps3, you might find a way that way, otherwise nope.
It works with phase shift, fof and the guitar hero pc games.

I think my main 2 flaws in this game is my stamina (see the video above, I just lose everything near the end) as well as streams, which always destroy everything I hold dear.
How do you guys practise streams? I'm at a point where I can pretty much get a A/B every time on Hard maps that don't have streams, and it's annoying because a lot of maps have streams and it just completely destroys me.

this game is all practice. there aren't any tricks to it
if you're still using Z/X, try Q/W or E/F OR D/F or anything else really for streams
or you can be like me and do mouse-only because it's a fun challenge~~
also make sure to actually listen to the music when playing, feel the beat etc
learn to have some basic finger independence and be able to tap your fingers in any order naturally without thinking about which finger you need to actually move.

my overall ability to clear maps and make obtuse jumps improved a ton when i moved to mouse only, from mouse+keyboard. Not entirely sure why, but i guess it's because the movement from actually clicking the keys with my left hand would slightly shift my arm/shoulders causing my right hand to slightly shift/vibrate. That's also because i use an insane DPI too but whatevesss
my ability to stream was reduced a ton though because i wasn't used to mouse-streaming; even though i practiced it a little bit when i was playing around with 4-key alternating. I just need to practice that a little bit more

So you're actively trying to make yourself perform worse?
Claiming it's retarded is an exaggeration since plenty of high ranked people play with extremely high dpi.

Going by people on Twitch, I always see them play in low resolutions if they use a big monitor. Never see anyone playing in full 1080 really.
