Met up with doomsday and did some dual plays, I used to look up to him like a god so this is really incredible for me. A lot of old players will remember him (rank 1 for a while, fighting cookiezi on banned forever etc...). It's weird how I used to watch him fight cookiezi and think of them as equals for a while and now I've played with him + I'm playing against him in the osu!UK tournament finals match. Here's some vids of us playing image material and freedom dive: Here's the osu!UK tournament bracket if anyone is wondering: http://challonge.com/osuuk3 The finals will be played on the 10th of August and it'll be streamed here: http://www.twitch.tv/oukt3 Also bonus content:
So I'm currently in Japan on vacation and got the chance to head over to an arcade and try out some of the arcade rhythm games. I played Beatmania IIDX (pretty standard, I'm trash at mania, so...), Sound Voltex (just as difficult as you expect, mania+), Groove Coaster (my personal favourite, it's really great, I'm not really sure how to describe it but I would highly recommend it. Very flashy, very fun, great music selection), and BeatStream (a brand new [~10 days since release] game played on a touch screen, this game appealed the most to me as a standard player, but it was insanely difficult, ADD to the max. There are 3 major play elements, and some of them have different variations on the main mechanic, insanely difficult, but a lot of fun and a really great interface.) Most rhythm game cabinets have places to plug in your own headphones, which is a great feature considering how loud most of the arcades here are (crowded+tons of cabinets with the volume cranked all the way up.) Tons of fun, I just wish that there was a way to play some of these games back home, I'm honestly considering trying to figure out how to obtain a Groove Coaster cabinet somehow... It's just so fun...

Yeah its probably one of the most rhythm based rhythm games I can think of.
may as well post information about it since you're talking about it main website: http://groovecoaster.jp/ iOS free version: http://groovecoaster.com/apps/en/index.html (appstore link) promotional tutorial vid:
the scoring system in osu is horrible bust my ass to improve score on a map, get 1 fucking pp finish some new map with a tiny combo and shit accuracy, BOOM 7pp the fuck?
the scoring system in osu is horrible bust my ass to improve score on a map, get 1 fucking pp finish some new map with a tiny combo and shit accuracy, BOOM 7pp the fuck?
There's most certainly an explanation for it rather than "scoring system is bad". You probably A: improved your score with worse accuracy which isn't improving it at all really or B: don't have many high pp top scores hence a new score will provide a very high percentage yield of what it should give which makes any random shit score provide pp.
now with wobbly controller cam
does anyone know why orkel doesn't play osu anymore?
have u tried asking him ?
help ive been sucked in to lr2 [editline]12th August 2014[/editline] i'm awful at moving my fingers independent of each other but this is a good break from osu standard for sure
does having a low persistence display help much in BMS games? i have a 94Hz 1024x768 CRT in the attic and i'm considering getting it out because the motion blur on my IPS monitor is giving me a headache [editline]13th August 2014[/editline] + ruv-it looks really bad on this monitor for whatever reason

That pad looks like the most fun mania's ever been. I want one without the scratchpad.
pffft who needs beatmania pads when you've got 8-button fightsticks?? honestly this was way harder than it should've been to get used to middle keys being on top row i also need to figure out how to reduce the delay on the webcam [editline]hi[/editline] i also need to stop playing rhythm games and update my ruv-it guide whoops~~

i'm probably gonna think about getting an dao pad solely because i actually hate playing 8k/7k+1 with a keyboard. and playing it that way looks like a lot more fun [editline]14th August 2014[/editline]
i havent really played a lot of bms but if its giving you a problem then switch, its probably better using it since you might not get a headache even if it has other benefits
i set it up just for mania/ruv-it and it's a lot better, reading at fast approach rates is much clearer

the lack of input lag with the CRT is actually noticeable coming from my regular photo editing monitor which gets like 27ms of input lag, it's great
how can i help fatigue in my tapping hand? i can get about a minute in to chipscape or freedom dive before my fingers get so stiff that i can hardly move them it hasn't ever gotten better with practice, my fingers get tired very easily
how can i help fatigue in my tapping hand? i can get about a minute in to chipscape or freedom dive before my fingers get so stiff that i can hardly move them it hasn't ever gotten better with practice, my fingers get tired very easily
alternate :)))))))))))))))) i never get left hand/arm fatigue. I suck, but I don't get tired.
finally getting used to new controller and adjusting to random [editline]21st August 2014[/editline] also new finger position of the first 3keys
I wonder how comfortable that controller is on mania songs harder than not very
alternate :)))))))))))))))) i never get left hand/arm fatigue. I suck, but I don't get tired.
i always have alternated keys [editline]21st August 2014[/editline] you'd be fucked if you tried to single tap freedom dive lmao
i always have alternated keys [editline]21st August 2014[/editline] you'd be fucked if you tried to single tap freedom dive lmao
I alternate everything at all speeds forever. (psssst, when people say alternating they dont mean streaming and singletapping) [editline]21st August 2014[/editline] like so SHAMELESS PLUG
hello i do too???? [editline]21st August 2014[/editline] alternating notes won't make my fingers fatigue less [editline]21st August 2014[/editline] i have this really annoying problem ingame where i can't click the ui (or have to click like a million times) is this a common problem or what
(i was just thinking that the difference between u and me was that you singletap and i alternate) (which might imply the difference between physical fatigue) (also if you knew then why did you say "singletap freedom dive")
because i thought you had no idea what you were talking about tbh
Eh I guess it's probably just that alternating everything kinda spreads out the strain so it aint on one muscle group thus less RSI later on :)))))
plus two fingers are always better in virtually any situation involving fingers
