Rhythm Game Megathread v1 - Don't stop moving to the funky funky beat

Djdao is the go to place for iidx controllers, theres no difference betweek the tt sizes, sanwa buttons are nice but Dao buttons are perfectly fine, the better switches are more important.
If you're getting Dao buttons go with the 100g omrons which would give you 140g total resistance with the springs which is perfect, if you go with sanwa get 50g
It's recommended you replace the stock Dao pcb with something called an arcin I'll link that later. That gives perfect input
this is probably one of the worst beatmaps i've played
and the singing is like bad karaoke
the title is in japanese/english and i'm pretty sure the lyrics are japanese but the singer is korean and the team who made it is korean but it was in a japanese pack??
and the BGA is natively 16:9 but they're normally supposed to be 4:3 so it stretches it horribly

i kind of just gave up partway through
as a primarily taiko no tatsujin player even having more than 2 keys is a mind blowing concept
as someone who normally plays VSRGs, having the playfield scroll in from the right is a mind blowing concept
wow, Flash Flash Revolution is kinda fun
except for the playlist, the songs are kinda ehhh...

having 2 keys for one button is more mind blowing for me.

What would be great if you could make a skin for taiko that turns it vertical and makes it look like 4k mania.
And skin the dons and kats so they have 2 versions, and make those 2 versions alternate. (tho this aint possible im p. sure)

I don't see what the fuss is about, you play standard and I don't see you singletapping.
Hey, remember vib-ribbon?
It's getting released on PSN, [del]tomorrow[/del] today!
That was posted yesterday, so it should be out today.
I need to learn to stream. I had this turn into this.
Holy shit for a second I thought that background was Image Material and I shat myself
I can dream.
4 you mean
it's more like 2K+2 tbh; you don't need to use the extra keys but they're there
i can use 2 keys to hit my scratch on 7K+1 but i singletap because it's easier for my mind to process
once i start getting into higher difficulties i'll need to use both keys tho for sure
there's a [12] diff i have that's just straight up scratches that i can't singletap which is why i was practicing my jackhammers with panic mod
[editline]hi[/editline]
this map

it's not as bad after that intro, and i DID pass it once, but god damn is it hard to singletap spam with your pinky while still hitting other notes
the heavy bracketing after 1:20 would kill me regardless
and then the scratches come back in full force @1:44 just to throw salt in the wounds

it's true though??
it's possible to map both D and K to a single key each and the game wouldn't play any differently, you'd just wear yourself out from singletapping
just like it's possible to simultaneously map "ER UI" & "DF JK" to a 4K mania row and hit them interchangeably, you'd just have to get used to weird hand configurations

i dare you to define possible and then use that word in a sentence which involves the words "222 bpm" and "1/4" and "singletap"

possible - pos·si·ble
/ˈpäsəb(ə)l/
1. able to be done; within the power or capacity of someone or something.
It is possible to map the D and K of taiko to single keys, but it will be nearly impossible to singletap 1/4th notes at 222 bpm.

[sp]it counts if i'm using one key, right???[/sp]

"nearly impossible"
i think at that point we start saying impossible. If not 222 then definitely 250
You're not singletapping past 160, you're vibrating manically.

i can do a lone triple at 180 sometimes :(((
[editline]8th October 2014[/editline]
also you should be able to make this into the actual default background of the main menu.

i can do 1/4th triples up to 240BPM+ when playing mania with any finger besides my pinky
triples are easy
sustaining that speed over an extended stream is another matter entirely

Pls record.
Pls record.
you managed to post this on the exact minute my break ended so i couldn't respond until now when i just got home ;;
here's a quick 1/4th 240bpm triple test in osu
i go through and confirm that it's 240bpm, confirm they're snapped to 1/4th, and then start it

as you can see, as soon as i get to the sustained stream i almost completely fail
i know there's some 1/4th triples in here that i recorded last night, but it's only 220 BPM, and i missed some/most of them because it was near the end of my jackhammer practice haha

i'll record a 240bpm panic song after i get warmed up again
i was teaching myself how to play one-handed with the "[shift]zsxdcfv" binding so i have to reaccustom myself to reading normally again :v:

Eh triples really don't count, the period between the first and last note is too small for you to even be able to fall behind and miss. I meant more for long successive chains.

yes, that's what the post you replied to said
well shit count me retarded then. I just went and did some myself and fuck it's the easiest thing ever.
still man I object to your usage of possible, but w/e
