I don't care if clocks, osu!'s new welcome music is awesome.
zsxdcfv is a similar layout to a controller yes, but why would you? its incredibly cramped and its not like you're getting the same experience as a controller either way
it's virtually impossible to do 14K+2 on a keyboard without it only other option you really have is: ~1234567890-=[backspace]+[f1][f12] but that's extremely confusing for me
Hasn't this been in for a few months at least now?
it's been out for 8 days http://osu.ppy.sh/p/changelog?v=b20141029.1 it was probably in earlier on test builds but this is public release

So I used to be a jump whore, spending tens of tries of Jumpudding for fun and then complaining when songs over 150bpm had 9+ streams. I got tired of failing easy songs that just had streams that were too fast, so I tunnel visioned stream improvement. It worked pretty well and I'm satisfied with how well I can stream. But I seem to have lost my touch when it comes to jumps. My accuracy for streams is better, but worse for any other pattern. Does anybody have suggestions for rebuilding my former glory days?

Any of you guys ever played MaiMai? I just played it and fuck my wallet is bleeding dry someone help
yes it was pretty fun but all the shoolkids in tokyo flocked to it so it was busy and i didnt play much [editline]28th November 2014[/editline] also at the arcade near where i was staying there was a local group that played maimai every evening and the iidx was right next to it and they showed me how to play and had a laugh was p cool [editline]28th November 2014[/editline] everyone wore gloves to play it and i felt like a dirty scrub without them
Mapping a suck, me and HeroicPillow know this well on that note, this map is nearly ready to get uploaded ~whoa~ and by nearly I mean it's nowhere near because I still need to make it playable and I'm a lazy cunt
everyone wore gloves to play it and i felt like a dirty scrub without them
I just used my nails as substitute, the next best thing. I keep fucking up at the multiple simul-taps in that game though. Sometimes its hard to see which one comes first but I guess that's something you train your eye to look for

Sometimes its hard to see which one comes first but I guess that's something you train your eye to look for
as with any rythm game? especially in like, high AR osu standard maps it's all about being able to recognize what notes are actually going to be hit next. that's the kind of thing you get the hang of after a while, i would say the difficulty in maimai is movement, also like in osu
Fun map though.
gonna get a dao fp7 emp :) don't really enjoy playing bm/o2 with a kb
gonna get a dao fp7 emp :) don't really enjoy playing bm/o2 with a kb
if u get dao keys get 100g omrons if u get sanwas get 50g omrons
planning on 100g omrons yea. can't really justify the price bump from the sanwas
theyre nice to have but really really not necessary, iirc they're a bit flatter on the top but other than that its very marginal enjoy, the fp7 is a great controller
just a shame ems is pretty expensive (though it's pretty heavy at 6.4kg) but hopefully it's worth it!!

(happened weeks ago but since this is dead I don't think it'll bother anyone)
i must say, playing iidx with an actual asc, and standing is so much better than sitting down tapping at a mechanical keyboard. The responsiveness in the buttons, and the turntable element makes for a much more arcade accurate and entertaining experience. Wouldn't go back to playing on keyboard if you paid me, just my two cents. turns out I had the foresight (or lack thereof) to build my desk very close to iidx cabinet spec, just need a more arcade sized monitor, maybe some day I'll make a separate desk just for bemani stuff definitely well worth the money for anyone interested in iidx or BMS. even the Konami ps2 controllers are very usable, and cheap at the same time the dao FP7 is incredibly well built and engineered, moreso than i was expecting from a one man job from china. everything feels very solid, the switches and turntable are excellent and dao is a pretty chill guy too tbf. definitely looks and feels like a bit of actual arcade kit
ur 2p??? good good p much every bar you and 1 other person in the uk scene is 1p which is good for you when you go to astro
yea, 2p feels way more comfortable the sticker on my turntable lifted a little overnight and i started p laying a scratch heavy song and sliced my pinky along the edge of it :~( [editline]21st December 2014[/editline] whatever glue dao uses for it isn't strong enough for the newest EMP surface stuff which is like a bumpy knit rubber cloth

Sadly for me LR2 just doesn't cut it, kb play feels kinda dull and it's slow as fuck with song previews (used to osu!).
yeah, playing on an arcade style controller is definitely a whole different game. kb is just tapping keys with minimal feedback scratch heavy songs on KB are basically no harder than non scratch songs, but on a controller it's like a completely different game when it comes to scratching
