240BPM level [9]s are kowai as heq apparently i need to practice panic mod and jackhammers to move up higher again... rip fightstick buttons welcome to mash hell [editline]30th December 2014[/editline] there's also this one that's basically just a bunch of easy staircases probably the easiest [9] i've found in BOF tbh i just goof around for like half the song
buy.an.asc [editline]31st December 2014[/editline] even a uskoc would be better than that thing
buy.an.asc [editline]31st December 2014[/editline] even a uskoc would be better than that thing
it has sanwa OBSF so really the only difference is that it has circle buttons instead of rectangle, and the turntable is a joystick. bonus is that i already use this controller to play most fighting/arcade games and an ASC can only play IIDX. i already said i would buy one later but it's hard to justify buying a controller for a single game tbh
who cares when the resale value is pretty much 95-100% if you keep it well
sanwas dont matter at all but the shape and layout of the buttons are completely different, switches, spacing, using a joystick for the tt to me why bother tbh, USKOCs are like $60 and will be a way better all round experience even if you have to use a ps2->usb adapter
I'm probably late as hell, but all the IIDX videos in this thread made me want to post this one. [Skip to around 2:00]
doubles is weird mashmashmashmash
sanwas dont matter at all but the shape and layout of the buttons are completely different, switches, spacing, using a joystick for the tt to me why bother tbh, USKOCs are like $60 and will be a way better all round experience even if you have to use a ps2->usb adapter
like maybe i'd understand this argument if i was going to go out and buy something and i didn't own anything other than a keyboard. but the difference is literally "something i've used extensively and already purchased with minor differences for $0" or "shitty microswitches and knockoff buttons with minor differences and a noticeable 'PS2->USB input delay' for $60". Even if i wasn't going to get a USKOC a DJDAO is $250 at minimum (with not-sanwas and not-omrons) and can only be used for IIDX, and my joystick was only ~$170 w/ S&H. do you ever even use anything other than the center of the keys when pressing them anyways the amount of space between the center of my buttons is ~35mm. vertical spacing is approximately that much as well the amount of space between joystick/buttons is more or less 45-50mm including activation point [t]http://i.imgur.com/UOWv1wm.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/GnCnmbc.png[/t] my actuation force is 65g, compared to an "arcade accurate" 50g, with the activation point in the middle; truly the most devastating inaccuracy and my entire experience is ruined tbh. i always accidentally graze the button and they trigger all of the time, so i just keep my hand off of it until i need to then quickly move my finger to activate the point and stop slightly after i reach halfway. the convex circular buttons are made by sanwa just like the convex rectangular buttons for the arcade controller. [vid]http://webmup.com/8CFVw/vid.webm[/vid] and literally the only difference between a joystick and a turntable is this: [vid]http://webmup.com/YfhOV/vid.webm[/vid] "way better all around experience" lmao do you legit find bms terrible if your controller isn't accurate down to the millimeter. could you explain to me how you think having the spacing configured in a straight line with rectangular buttons is at all the best experience for human hands?? slamming a joystick back and forth (i can config it to register up/down, or left/right, or any combination) is just as fun as slightly sliding a turntable up and down. imo it's more fun slamming a stick... thanks for reminding me how hilarious IIDX purists are tho
yeah basically by playing on that thing you'd be effectively screwing yourself when you move to an asc
oh yea totally man just like how i effectively screwed myself by playing on a keyboard  it'd take at most 5 plays before i adjust. hell i'm tempted to take out my PS3 controller right now and play a map. turntable on left joystick, with the buttons mapped to random lanes. hardcaore party time letsu go
you are completely ignoring tt spacing. Ac accurate is taller and considerably further than that joystick arcade new is way heavier than 50g you post that webm as if that difference in movement actually had no difference when it makes a lot of difference [editline]31st December 2014[/editline] im a bemani warrior hear me roar at people who play bms on ridiculous setups
Broke 24k today in osu standard. Some rad near full combos give me the pp. Sitting at a record #23,493.
By the way, the guy at the osu! forums released the 2015 wallpaper with the nicknames of people who applied (I'm in!). Looks nice. [t]http://puu.sh/dTT8h/7303926bef.png[/t]
so i decided to train my staircase/longnotes and what better tool to use than ranked o!mania maps?? seeing as how it's the highest concentration of mappers with a staircase/longnote fetish it was slightly harder than i thought it would be playing these maps with a controller the middle lane in o2jam style maps has a extremely higher note count than all other lanes most of the time; where compared to IIDX style maps it's pretty rare to get a middle lane note and then there's LN staircases where staircases are literally made out of long notes, alongside the other kind of LN staircases where you do staircases while holding various longnotes. truly horrifying to wrap your hand around that stuff admittedly i played pretty badly but i got some more experience with holding awkward positions so it wasn't all for nothing. it now feels somewhat natural to switch between using my thumb&index fingers, or quickly moving my index finger between 2 buttons. at least i have a little experience with it if patterns like these ever show up in a bms (i doubt they would show up tho). i had to use antimicro to map my buttons to keyboard keys because osu wouldn't even detect my fightstick (also my skin broke thx to ppy's updates so i have no idea how to change lane width anymore and my notes were super thin and so much is broken i don't even know. and i can never find documentation on any skinning changes anywhere so that doesn't help)
did you enable asc mode in osu [editline]5th January 2015[/editline] my dao works perfectly if i do that, except i can't map +1 to TT +/-. so 8k with an asc in mania is garbage because you can only scratch one direction
(also my skin broke thx to ppy's updates so i have no idea how to change lane width anymore and my notes were super thin and so much is broken i don't even know. and i can never find documentation on any skinning changes anywhere so that doesn't help)
This might help you

it's alright, there's not really any 8k worth playing in o!m either way
I took the liberty of taking apart all of my buttons and cleaning them, and tape modded my turntable my buttons feel so much clicker, as if there was a little gummy bear stuck under them before [t]http://imgkk.com/i/crdd.jpg[/t] accuracy and ability to pinky scratch went up so much
during like the first month of gettin a dao the felt ring in the TT frays so much and creates more friction just taking it off and wipe away the fibres helps
yeah, took apart the tt and reassembled it too. less of a cloth-y feeling and sound when i move it, now it just spins with the right amount of force [editline]6th January 2015[/editline] dao ascs are ridiculously easy to maintain, almost everything is tool-less
smooooch (h) AA kaiden (h) AA scar in the earth (a) AA woop found my sweet spot for delay, using -0.8 is almost perfect. given the emerson and samsung monitors UK/US arcade cabs use are about 33ms give or take 2ms and my monitor has a base of 25-27ms input lag, it works out quite well
being torn the sky (a) a clear My first 10
i've gotten a little better at joystickin' this song is like 70% scratches lmao [editline]:^)[/editline] the [11] and [12] scare me
Local dave and busters finally got pump it up prime, so hype
i stick to my guitar hero when i see these videos
Anyone still playing normal Osu! gamemode? There used to be weekly osu multiplayer before, i kind of miss that. There were all kind of people playing and it was fun even if you sucked like me back then. Would love to play some multiplayer osu! again.
/a/ still does that kind of thing every Friday, with special rooms for noobs even might have better luck there because this thread's not very active, and not very osu-centered
went through and played a ton more songs to categorize them into folders based on how good it is (map/song -wise) and came across this one which is pretty rad so i thought i would share it the doubles+bracketing are fun, i actually manged to do the alternating staircases for once, and i need more songs like this because it's very soothing it's also pretty technical at a few parts also this song is like nonstop drums taikomania all the way
Anyone still playing normal Osu! gamemode? Would love to play some multiplayer osu! again.
i was pretty much the only one who would ever set up the rooms after dottedline stopped but i hate osu now tbh so i just stopped hosting the rooms. someone else would have to do it i always had to spend about 30min-1hour with maybe 1 other person until more people started showing up, which wasn't so bad because we could just play a few songs. and when people did show up they would usually leave within 20 minutes or so, so be prepared to wait a bit and get used to people joining/leaving a lot depending on when you decide to host it. and then lichs would stay after everyone else had left and we would share jump maps with each other. ~good times~ i know a few people still play but everyone is pretty far spread out as far as skill is concerned if you can even find people
lichs is/was way too good at jumps fuckin AA'n 9s woop Element of Spada (a) AA WISE UP! (a) AA A cleared The Sampling Paradise (h) but the 9 is so much easier than the another so it's not of much notice :~(
Easy cleared my first ★3. I've only actually easy cleared a few songs on the insane scale :v:
