Anyone know where I can get a JP/US KOC? I want to get an ASC but I'm poor. Also, can you flip the keys around on a KOC to make it 2P?
ebay
also yeah the keypad flips around for 2p
At least we got long notes unlike some faggy gamemode
hey you're from my country
any idea if arcades exist anywhere around here?
At least we got long notes unlike some faggy gamemode
yea man catch the beat sucks
oh were you talking about bms?
because we have longnotes on most maps above [9]. and a few below [10]
it's mostly because performing finger-twister is a pretty high level technique on a controller so it's usually not used in full force until around [10]s. [11] adds scratches alongside the notes, and [12] ramps up the longnotes and scratches to insane levels usually.
some examples:

if anything iidx/bms has twice the kinds of long notes as mania does considering backspins

Man I know you technically HAVE long notes but the focus is wayyyy shifted.
I maintain that hardest shit you 7+1kers got aint shit compared to hardest 7k shit

lol
"i want more long notes" - said nobody except o2jam players

I'm not totally sure about difficulty, but o2jam/osu!mania are probably better to learn starting out with VSRG. 99% of top-ranking BMS players have tons of experience with o2jam as well.
Long notes vs. density is actually pretty similar to the 7k vs. 4k thing. Density-exclusive players will nail BMS but fail horribly at LN patterns (like how 4k players are better at 4k but awful at 7k). Meanwhile, LN players get a good mix of LN and normal note patterns so they'll do well at LN and okay at BMS (like how 7k players can go to 4k and pick it up pretty easily).
Still, they're two sides of the same coin and I think it's fun to play both. The more stuff to master the better, right? Words of wisdom from the man himself:

(this post is strictly about keyboards)

"i want to remain in my comfort zone and not play something because its hard" - IIDX 7k+1 players

i couldn't find any of the [30]+ diffs i have so here's a [23]

can't even capture it well with 30fps lmao oh well
"i want to remain in my comfort zone and not play something because its hard" - IIDX 7k+1 players
hmm yeah all of those IIDX players that AAA 12s and BMS on the side are just sticking to their comfort zone
"i want to remain in my comfort zone and not play something because its hard" - IIDX 7k+1 players
At the end of the day, it's just a game. Some people prefer to progress in one thing over grinding to become well-rounded. This is why we have 4k and BMS exclusive players. And I don't think it's fair to say that about IIDX players because they are all using a different controller than us with its own unique challenges.
there's pretty much no denying that playing with an arcade style controller (and to an extent a fightstick pad as heroic has beautifully proven to me) is way different than playing with a keyboard. IIDX and BMS are different games, and BMS keyboard versus BMS with an ASC are also two different games in terms of how they're played and how difficult it is to progress

that's not to say keyboard players are any less legitimate, guys like acbd are ridiculously impressive. but they're just as hard as each other for different reasons
Ridiculous bursts ruining my fc...

so i would always pass by this song when going through my "Good" folder and never remember why i could never clear it when the intro sounds like it's just another generic song with break drums which are usually super easy songs a lot of the time
and then after 20 seconds of playing i'm reminded of the extreme scales all over the place
somehow i managed to actually get past that part for the first time barely, and i was determined to go all the way

and go all the way i did :^)
also new camera angle. instead of on my lap it's on my desk. a little harder to hit the joystick tho. you get to see the weird stuff i do with my right hand because i'm adverse to using my thumb though!!
oh my god i just realized how many yuri songs are in G2R2014
i've already counted at least 6 different ones
how many BMS artists started out doing yuri music wtf is this
speaking of which this is now my all time favorite BMS it's so great

best map all years fuk the haterz
it has fucking LIP SYNCING (although my hands in are the way :^) )
AND A MONKEY
the [12] has an excessive amount of longnotes too
i found a song with a bunch of chords for you lain
although it's a pretty big genre shift :^)

also i just did this on my first try
i was so in the zone
how what when why

probably one of the easier [11] but it's still [11] imo so finally got one hehehehehahahaheieoahoe
help how do i read

super hard mode
Sometimes you combo that bit you could never do anything and then just fail cause it felt good to do that

normally when i finally complete a section after failing it over and over i make absolutely sure to do my best for the entire rest of the song because i know i probably won't get another chance to pass that section again in a while (assuming it's a song that's too hard for me)
sidenote: i always have trouble reading other people's videos because most people use massive sprites for the notes. it's probably the same way for my vids though with my tiny notes :v:

Not particularly. What throws me off is the extra key and that the middle key on your 7 is same size as the D and K.
okay i looked deeper into the ruv-it skinning system and now almost completely understand it so i'm making a custom skin for myself. in the meantime i set the bga to be "fill" again because ~transparency~
i also found out that it's actually really easy to make a "cover" system and you're able to customize it easily too, but you'd need to edit the skin ini manually if you want to change the height, but it would just be a single variable at the bottom of the file so not too difficult
in other news here's some more goode songs
this one has a pretty cool bassline and i like the background a lot
the scratch parts after the halfway point are also pretty rad

i almost passed this song up in my library originally because the intro sounds boring as fuck but everthing after that part is absolutely amazing and it feels like my fingers are literally dancing on my joystick and it's great best map would play again

we might have to put a new thing in the OP soon

all these bright colors and flashing lights whoa
is it music based or is it just a rhythm tapping game
no idea, there's barely any info on it
is it music based or is it just a rhythm tapping game
looks more like a crossover between audiosurf and bit.trip to me
preset songs/courses similar to bit.trip, and basic jet-lane gameplay like audiosurf
according to what i've read on it the design is that you're "battling against a space god" or some shit like that. although it's not even fully in alpha yet and "everything can change" so they're mostly just teasing it before they even know what they're going to do with the game. no point in even bothering with caring about it at this point imo
Epic
