i learned that it's far easier to read BMS if you read it as 3Kx2+2. basically read the (scratch)+(1-3) with your left eye, and then (4)+(5-7) with right eye. or reverse that if you're lefty flip
it makes vertical-reading a lot more trivial for me at least

also i'm starting to clear more and more [11]s. although apparently i play a little worse with a light in my peripheral vision but that's not too big of a deal.
managed to get aeventyr cleared as well although i messed up on a few locations i shouldn't have so i did really bad near the early parts.
going on R is a very technical song which is pretty nice to listen to

i've read it a bunch of different ways and switch off constantly

(ignore the note colors below, i didn't feel like making them accurate)

when i first switched to BMS, i swapped my note colours to be all white, and i was reading it my old horizontal way for the entire playfield. I also made all of the notes the same size, none of them were bigger than the other. It "worked", but if i ever wanted to play on an arcade i would be fucked.

So then i reverted back to using multiple colors, and made the "black" notes be slightly smaller, and the scratch much large. I then tried vertically reading each individual column, with the scratch having lower priority. It worked okay, although i noticed i would always completely bail out whenever a long series of scratch would come.

And now i'm currently doing one of the following. i keep my hands on 1-3 & 5-7 at all times, and then move then slightly if i want to use 4 or scratch. It's broken down enough that i can still read horizontally if i want to, although occasionally i just read the column as a vertical chunk

yea obvs that's why it says "shop ranking" at the top right and not something like regional or world

i just figured there might've been more than just a sea of miss rankings but rhythm games aren't too popular with most people to begin with so it's to be expected i guess
maybe it's too new of a cabinet to have seen anybody ET to come through and top most of the ranks
idk i just thought it was odd to see since all of the cabinets near me for rhythm games normally have decent scores for the top 20 at least usually

there are probably more scores on the pop'n because it's a little less intimidating

Yeah, there are actually a lot of decent LN charts out there for BMS. It's a shame LR2 sucks for LN or we would probably get a lot more o2jam/osu!mania players to try it out. I really wish all of the main VSRGs would break combo if you released early or late though instead of just o2jam. Probably my only gripe with osu!mania (besides the weird scoring system :v:).

its easy to get a small string of bads and poors (not every miss is a combo break) and theres like 10 players at astro who are capable of passing that song so but still relatively poorly passes

additionally this map probably has the best usage of jackhammers i've seen. they're placed perfectly to create a little bit of tension while still being relatively easy/quick so it's not bullshit when they come down
