what does "11s" circle arrow thing mean? didnt exist the last time i played
that ranking was uploaded 11seconds ago it also has m, h, and d i think it disappears after 1week though
for the like two of you as excited as i am, it looks like the PSN store updated earlier than usual. Project Diva f is available, as well as the DLC. price for the main game is $30, extra songs DLC is $10.
I can't do osu!mania 7K for some reason. no matter what layout I use, I end up fucking it up because it's symmetrical, so either I keep missing the center input because neither of my fingers end up moving to it, or I miss the right 3 inputs because I thought shifting my whole hand to the left would solve that. 8K would actually be easier for me because of this. I guess I could try using my keyboard guitar style.

Pinky doesn't do anything Spacebar goes to Left and/or Right thumb. I only use my left thumb though getting used to using this configuration as second nature will take you the longest when starting up. After that mania is pretty easy, although then you start having fun with patterns and longnote hell.. Until you can see a note and instantly know which finger to press without thinking about it you'll probably have troubles from time to time; and it'll most likely take about a month until you never think about it. I'd say anywhere from 1 day to 1 week until you only occasionally get confused. it's the same thing with reading taiko notes for the first time.

I don't know why, they keep on lifting! Edit: Eh, I've almost got that behaviour trained out now
Oh yea, i found out that the local japan/anime shop at one of the 5 malls nearby me (like 15minutes away) has a Pop'n Music Arcade Machine. I didn't have time to check what version it was, or if it cost money to play. But god damn one of these weekends i'm driving back up there and trying out some pop'n.
This game is nuts, first I struggle on this for a day: [t]http://puu.sh/7j8cT.jpg[/t] Then I get this first try: [t]http://puu.sh/7j8dk.jpg[/t] I think it's because of the slower notes on the first one, the second one was basically constant clocking and dragging whereas this one had points where I had to slow down and time a click (which I am not good at, I get too excited and click too early). Anyone else had this problem before? Other than practise is there a trick to those "slower" notes? Hatsune Miku Project Diva f 2. Danganronpa 3. Toukiden: The Age of Demons 4. Persona 4 Golden 5. Ys: Memories of Celceta As games I am 90% sure I want, are there any others that you think I might like? Or are just so good you want to recommend anyway?
Whatever, it's a ranking screen for 7K! [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/14482652/Fuck%20it!.png[/t]

It's better than nothing but still, I would love a place that looks like this.
Anyone else had this problem before? Other than practise is there a trick to those "slower" notes?
depends on the map tbh hopefully it follows the music/beat/lyrics, but i haven't played any easys in forever, and there's still a lot of insanes/hards out there that don't follow anything at all. This is a rhythm, listen to the music and follow along. If you find yourself looking at the notes and trying to anticipate when they'll happen then you're not following the music. And hopefully the map is well made enough to actually follow the song. Also seeing as you're SSing easys, i really suggest you move onto normals.

However I have the desire to SS all of the easy songs I have already downloaded before then. Which is probably really dumb so I'll try mix them in with normals.

I tried to play the "hard" diff of an unranked map posted in the #mania chat of osu... i forgot that the regulars of that chat have a slider fetish, and are also ET as fuck i need to remember to adjust all diffnames up by 2 on all of their maps in the future it doesn't really help that more than 2 sliders at once is currently my biggest weakness
Anyone else had this problem before? Other than practise is there a trick to those "slower" notes?
I can't even do those since I'm used to faster maps. Slow notes (rather slow approach rate) just really fuck with you and makes you click to early unless you practice them. In the harder maps (insane etc) you'll focus much less on individual notes for a long time and rather on several quickly appearing one which is more fun imo. [editline]5th March 2014[/editline] Constantly pushing your limit is the best way to get better. Eventually you'll be able to play insanes and that's where the fun is really at.
oh my god i just remapped my clicking keys for standard to E/F and the game just became 100x easier like no joke streams are hilariously easy now and my accuracy on every note just skyrocketed and my hand never even gets tired at all anymore i could pretty much always move my mouse to the right positions but when i hit every other note as a 100 i would die anyways so who car of course i still fuck up and move my mouse out of the wrong area and slider break or whatever but now bring on the multiplayer match [editline]hi[/editline] anybody have some stream maps to share i only have jump maps i have hommarjou, i'll try that later
Currently on my phone but the only one I have in my head is this one Lunatic is pretty hard irc but extra is where the real challange is at.
anybody have some stream maps to share i only have jump maps i have hommarjou, i'll try that later
https://osu.ppy.sh/s/16990 lots of streams on lunatic and insane, pretty fun too.
...is hidden supposed to look like this in taiko i mean obvs i have a custom skin for it but i'm pretty sure that corrupted black bar isn't supposed to look like that?? it's also pretty hard to read hidden taiko
Currently on my phone but the only one I have in my head is this one Lunatic is pretty hard irc but extra is where the real challange is at.
this is more like a jump map with a few streams than a stream map imo
https://osu.ppy.sh/s/16990 lots of streams on lunatic and insane, pretty fun too.
this one is pretty fun though thanks

If you can S a normal, then you'll waste less time trying to brute-force an SS on easy. I also recommend you never do the same song twice in a row because the aim of Osu is to improve your reflexes, not your memorization skills.

Which I agree with because I have realised that the more I get 1 note wrong and retry and retry I start to get more wrong.
This is what happens if you try to force a high score. [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/111996868/2014/fast%20anime/dear%20you.jpg[/t]

[t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/111996868/2014/fast%20anime/dear%20you.jpg[/t]
ur just bad ;; i steadily increase with each one played one of these days i'll get around to Sing it [t]http://i.imgur.com/QuSYUKp.png[/t] lol nofail mania too [t]http://i.imgur.com/xo55whW.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/FINq5mb.png[/t] there's also this one in taiko [t]http://i.imgur.com/jNURSx5.jpg[/t] although yea to an extent you don't want to just play the same map over and over, but at the same time you want to know patterns and get used to various movement types and the easiest way to do that is on a map you already know how to play but haven't perfected yet. although even easier than that would be cutting that part out in edit mode and just duplicating it hundreds of times but that's for weirdos
I'm starting to get SS's on Normal maps now, woop wooop [t]http://puu.sh/7ltVE.jpg[/t] And am I the only one that hates this SOOO much? [t]http://puu.sh/7ltW3.jpg[/t] 2 S's an A and a C and the one that is displayed on the right is the A. Just put my S on there damn it, I don't care if it wasn't the highest score it looks better for me.
you know how i said i never get tired with my new E/F keybinding well scratch that i found a song that makes my hand get tired i need to get a keyboard that isn't rubberdome before i break my hand dangit grumd

Try this for twice the pain http://osu.ppy.sh/s/89537
That was my practice map at one point.
That was my practice map at one point. Try this for twice the pain http://osu.ppy.sh/s/89537
Oh god those spaced singles half-way into the map are super hard. [editline]7th March 2014[/editline]
is this even a song or is it just someone farting into a microphone on loop
This too what the hell.
has osu! discussion officially moved here? also i took a 7 day break (not of my own volition) and i got... marginally better, i think, my jumps are definitely quite a bit more accurate, but im in 1miss hell on two maps, and im stuck with two As in my top ranks now [editline]6th March 2014[/editline] have my latest uploaded replay, although it's about a week and a half old now, ill upload something new tomorrow
