Rhythm Game Megathread v1 - Don't stop moving to the funky funky beat - Games

i finally got around to adding parts of the GUI to my skin!! cursor is literally bad but i can't think of anything else to do with it atm most people use their own cursors anyways so who car [media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUcGwy4uBFU[/media] (i was trying to find a list of all of the rank icons at the end but couldn't find a song with them all. oops) and the main parts of standard mode are made finally! basically half of it isn't skinned i guess taiko is still shit though. sound effects are still bad too but i've gotten used to them and i keep changing mania back and forth so i'm not sure what i'm going to do about that especially the hit-icons. i'm proud of the new track lighting though that shit is rad as far as ranks go SS is a star. Hidden SS is a silver star. etc i didn't post v0.6 because it was mostly just tiny font changes but it's still a thing that exists downloaddd: [url]http://pixellegacy.com/files/osu/monolegacy%200.7.osk[/url] i'll go back and do the @2x size when i'm done. it's easy to upscale this all as i still have the source files for pretty much everything. obvs it would be easier to downscale it instead of upscale but fuck it it's too late now

I was just doing really well offline only to Google and find out those scores will never be online. That's annoyingly understandable and fair.

Just for reference when I wake up, is there a way to check if a song has a score locally and not online? Desperately hoping I can just quickly search and see all the songs I played offline so I can try beat them online too.

Why isn't anyone talking about [url=https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rayark.pluto&hl=pt-br]Deemo[/url]? It's from Rayark, the same guys that made Cytus, it's more like a Piano Hero or something. Musics are really nice and I liked it a lot.

Is it like Cytus where you have to pay to play it decently and not wait a minute before each song?

Deemos' got a few free songs, but the majority unlocks through the full version. There are also song collections but they are really cheap.

Well osu seems to be the most played rhythm game at least on facepunch so it's expected that it has a lot of discussion. The idea of this thread was to get every rhythm game in one topic, including osu, since on their own they don't really warrant a topic since most would die after like 5 posts. Now that that's sorted lets discuss [url=https://osu.ppy.sh/u/scarfedsoldier]how great my osu user page is[/url]. It's great, is it not? EDIT: Also is there any games on the wii other than Guitar Hero and Rock Band that would support the Guitar Hero controllers? I'm mainly thinking of Hatsune Miku type Rhythm games here.

I would post stepmania stuff here but I'm totally crap because/even though I only started playing a couple of years ago. Also it seems pretty common that if you upload youtube videos of stepmania songs and aren't super pro FCing 10+ charts, then you get a lot of hate comments. My best combo was 990 but that was on a dumb, long streamy song at 160 bpm.

Disable the comments? I'd love to see some stepmania videos even if you are a beginner.

So... I might try osu!mania but holy shit you guys play it so well, I tried to mimic one of the videos posted here and I just can't even begin to imagine how I'd do it.

All this music game talk is making me want to pick my beatmania controller conversion idea back up so I can use it on PC sims. Time to do some digging!

After you've played enough that you can see a note on the screen and press the finger corresponding to it without thinking about it at all, and not mess up and press the wrong finger, it's pretty easy. I learned how to play 7K games using osu!mania, and it took me quite a while until i was comfortable with pressing the spacebar to hit notes. It took me a very long time of replaying songs over and over until i could do anything even moderately decent, and even still i'm worse than ecksdee at quite a few things. although he also used to play a korean 7K game called [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/O2Jam]O2Jam[/url] so he has prior experience. and before i forget to mention it, the lead dev of osu!mania stepped down due to various arguments with peppy (lead dev of osu), so mania is basically now an abandoned buggy dead gamemode with no hope. yay. as long as i'm on the subject of 7K games, there's also Lunatic Rave 2, although it's mostly in japanese. here's a setup guide for it if anyone is interested: [url]https://docs.google.com/document/d/1gXnexg7qd7RcTDrHEOOTyS4Ioj5ZLsaU1qJacWIqRsU/edit[/url] and the only way to play o2jam nowadays is a private server i believe, seeing as the main servers are offline.
