it all really comes down to your preference. i didn't really notice the impersonality of the conversations when i was playing skyrim; i was too engrossed in the world. i did like deus ex: human revolution too but in a different kind of way. on the topic of third person vs first person, i think i'd like to see first person more as it suits gunplay a bit better.

good.
Yeah i'm fairly sure this is going to be an RPG not a shooter.
Deux Ex HR wasn't a real shooter either.
This game will be a game that features guns which you can shoot. It won't be a shooter. Much like Deus Ex 1/HR, Fallout 3/NV, System Shock, and Alpha Protocol. All games where you shoot guns, none of them are shooters. It's not a shooter if shooting isn't the primary method of interacting with the world. Or in cases like CoD the only way of interacting with the world.
Yeah i'm fairly sure this is going to be an RPG not a shooter.
it's still a pretty important aspect of a game. i don't really want to buy a walking around and talking to people simulator set in the future; not that talking is bad it's just i need some action to balance out the conversation.

Well iirc they said they want to make the game very close to a tabletop RPG so I think the combat will be mainly based on stats rather than the player's skill. That doesn't work well in a first person game.
I want to play as the augmented street crossing post... "DON'T WALK, DON'T WALK, WALK, WALK, WALK"... that would be a game i'd play.

Hmm, a semi-realtime (Think UFO Aftermath) strategic shooter would be neat.
I much perfer first-person games to third-person, especially with RPGs. Then again I also like being able to manipulate the environment like in Source or Embryo engine games. It just makes me feel more a part of the world with freedom rather than playing a game with definitive actions I can perform.
I definitely want it to be in first-person.
I'd rather it be more like a shooter than have dragon age combat.
who cares if it'll be third/first person: it's going to be the best cyberpunk game ever [editline]19th January 2013[/editline] also, all i can say, guys, is if you want to get a real feel for how this game is going to be: read the books/check out the tabletop game CDPR LOVE source material. The Witcher is probably the most accurate-to-the-books game I've ever even played and it's amazing how at home you feel after you read the books. If you can get the geralt mentality you can play like a total beast at the game and wreck everything in your sight. Chances are it'll be the same way in Cyberpunk.

Just stating my preference. One shot can be fatal to even the most experienced character (However this can be countered with armour/implants etc)

Seems like this game is in very good hands.
[del]I'm considering getting ME3. Is any DLC worth buying?[/del] EDIT: Oh shit, sorry. Wrong thread.
I want it to be 3rd person because I want bitchin cyberpunk animations
Medieval games work better as third person games, modern and future ones are more suited for first person perspective imo.
Since the trailer and the theme suggest guns will be present I really hope they combine gunplay and RPG properly. It would suck if the guns turn out to be gimmicky.

I'd like the option to play both. That seems to be the best yet very few games do it.
i think it would be interesting to have gameplay similar to XCOM, making it feel more like a tabletop rpg. but if player control is the mane thing first person is definitely the way to go.
i think it would be interesting to have gameplay similar to XCOM, making it feel more like a tabletop rpg. but if player control is the mane thing first person is definitely the way to go.
i disagree with both of these statements
i think it would be interesting to have gameplay similar to XCOM, making it feel more like a tabletop rpg. but if player control is the mane thing first person is definitely the way to go.
XCOM: No First person: I hope so.
that's only if the game has you playing as a party which is doubtful
no i mean xcomish controls with only one person you can control. but whatever it's unlikely to be in the game, not built for the engine
