Fuck Laissez Faire and capitalist AI.
Stop destroying all my factories I painstakingly arranged by order in each region.
Fucking god damn it Spain won't recognize their debt to me, let's just finish this and go to war so I can get my ass kicked.
CKII free week holy shit
My friend has been playing a lot of CKII recently and he said this to me today.
"I don't even see women as people anymore, just alliances. Oh look, another Alliance was born!"
Since seducing is now a thing can a Basque Queen seduce Kings for bastard claims?
Huh, the Nuke counter is back, in the Stream last week it wasn't there.
And the experience counter is no longer on the top bar. Is this newer?

We should organize a CKII multiplayer game tonight. Maybe 10PM+EST?

I'd be up for it this weekend.

I've been listening to the EvW soundtrack and it's actually really well done. Really eerie.
I would play in a CK2 MP game, but I'm not only super busy, but I'm afraid that I'd slow people down.
Also I'd much rather spectate :v:
Because I've only put a few hours in the game, I'd probably make an awesome ruler then have him overthrown within the month.
El Dorado has an 'official' announcement about the release date now

VICKY 3 HOPE
if only

Well, maybe after HOI4 looking at their release cycle.
The gog featured stream of Quill about Europa Universalis 1 was pretty great. Johan explained a lot about the game and how it all evolved, there was some pretty interesting stuff to listen to.
VICKY 3 HOPE

I hope not. If HoI4 is anything to go by, Victoria 3 will be streamlined to all hell and the actual strategy of economics and politics would be thrown out in favor of "more open ended gameplay"
imo having the CKII character thing with Vicky 3 would be fun so you could have heads of states with differing traits that can affect the way your country runs.

It'd make a bit more sense with party policy, but in a way there's not much flexibility there so.
I'd actually want to see more parties and political factions, as well as historical ones pop up over time. Especially in countries that feel untouched by that, Austria being a fairly good culprit, for example.
Jesus.. did HoI4 bang your sister? Chill out man, seriously.
It's an absolute joke of a "grand strategy" game

I think there's room for a lot more depth to be explored than I would want for a game such as Hearts of Iron. This may be because I got into Victoria very quickly, as opposed to never really understanding Hearts of Iron, but Victoria is my favorite of the series by far and even then there's a lot of depth mechanics, such as political ones, that I would've loved to see added or improved upon.

You're speaking as if you have played it.
Playing CK2, started as one of the interesting character starts from the Wiki for a new spin on things, choose William of Flanders, grandson to William the Conqueror and second in line for the throne of England (his father was first) when old king Henry decided to change succession laws so his daughter could inherit who also had kids, so my place in line dropped out of the immediate succession. Get pissed, resolve to invade England via papal sanctioned invasion like William the Conqueror, and join in a crusade to get the necessary pity+send chaplain to Rome to butter up the pope.
I almost get killed in the Crusade, and when the crusade neared its end I was close to the piety for an invasion and then the throne, when suddenly, I become King of England without warning! How is this possible I ask? I was like 4th in line behind Henrys daughter+her daughter+my father.
Turns out old Henry died from fever in January 1130, and as expected his daughter received the crown. Then both her and her daughters became ill as well, and died days part just two months after Henry. So now my father (Robert) becomes king in March, then dies a natural death in September, and the throne finally finds its way to me, still battling in the Crusade and competly unaware that all this went down. The year of 1130 becomes the year of the four monarchs in English history and William III didn't even have to launch an invasion to become King, it only toke several freak deaths in quick succession.
This game still finds ways to surprise me and create interesting stories.
tldr: Want throne of England but way down the line of succession, Current king dies of illness and gives the crown to daughter, Daughter than gets ill and dies along with her daughter and father becomes king, father dies and now I get the throne, all in a span of a year.
Have you even played it? It's way too early to call it a joke.
Not like it matters what it is like at launch anyway, It's going to be a completely different game two years from now when it's had 4-6 expansions released.
And mods
It's an absolute joke of a "grand strategy" game
Oh, you've played it then? Please tell how it is a joke
Also just because HOI4 is supposedly simplified doesn't mean V3 would be. Was it EU4 or CK2?
Sometimes you just have to wonder what the fuck happened.
In my EU4 game, Venice somehow turned into a monarchy and then went under a PU of France.

republican tradition dropped, the government changed to a republican dictatorship and then into a kingdom
Snip wrong button
Boxing myself
Diplomatic Reputation is so underrated outside of annexation. I got a lucky PU over Castille just because I thought "I might as well get another ally, in addition to France, just to guarantee that my war on England goes smoothly." (I'm Denmark trying to get the achievement) I even had to fight France for the PU, but after the war they went right back to being friendly.

I've decided to mod my EU4. Adding a Colonist (Probably two?) and a slight global settler increase buff to the traditions of Colonial Nations.
That way, any Colony worth it's weight can be able to colonize (So you're not fucked if you colonize as an odd nation.) and has incentives to colonize.
