Using SPACE25 (or was it 25SPACE) on GMG takes 25% off the game. https://www.greenmangaming.com/games/stellaris/#b
Preordered it because my girlfriend got it as a gift, plus I had leftover casholeum from selling off some of my reenactor stuff.
<3
So Earth's development level in Stellaris is random in games where you don't play as Humans, they could be a space nation, pre-FTL, pre-industrial, wiped out etc.

Should we have a separate Stellaris thread?
Should we have a separate Stellaris thread?
Why? It's not like this thread is incredibly active as is.
Should we have a separate Stellaris thread?
Please don't drag /gsg/ memes in here
Why? It's not like this thread is incredibly active as is.
For better exposure of the game, unless you know about it and know about the developer you know you can look up information in this thread, but then again that's a valid point, the inactivity of this thread.
Please don't drag /gsg/ memes in here
How is that a meme? I have to agree, Stellaris will probably be more popular on FP then any other Paradox game. Having a thread with Stellaris in the name would get more attention then just "Paradox". Worked on Something Awful. They made a Stellaris thread because Stellaris was all anyone was talking about. [editline]6th May 2016[/editline] HOI4 DD, nothing exciting just info on the QA process and pictures of some bugs https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/hearts-of-iron-iv-development-diary-55-hoi4-qa.925172/
Because /gsg/ is full of shitposters and raiders claiming it isn't a grand strategy , yada, yada. Anyway its the PI thread so any of their games belong here. It's getting played out to death like with Aurora or the Liquor shit. I think its fine, after the hype dies down we'll be back to the same old. It's not like this thread moves fast to begin with.

If people want to talk about Stellaris they can do so here, they'll notice it's developed by PI so it's not like it won't be welcomed here considering people are pretty hyped about it here (unless it goes to shattered long retreats tier of pi decision making) might as well branch CK2 and EU4 into seperate threads too since these are their popular games too while we're at it.
Giant Bomb is streaming Stellaris http://www.giantbomb.com/chat/
I get the feeling most people that are hyped for Stellaris are already Paradox fans anyways.
SA is like several times the size of FA so I don't think that applies here, we barely have 200 posters and half of those don't even have more than 5 posts or so.
Zillamaster55, Lone Wolf807, Tuskin, and myself literally make up about 40% of all the posts in this thread alone. :v:
Yep, I got nothing but love for Stellaris and I'm pretty critical of PI myself. I think it'll be good a launch, it seems like they've learned not to release bug-ridden games anymore.
I haven't heard any complaints from any youtubers yet [editline]6th May 2016[/editline]
Zillamaster55, Lone Wolf807, Tuskin, and myself literally make up about 40% of all the posts in this thread alone. :v:
Oh god
I don't post nearly enough :v: Stellaris got me hyped though, I'm excited
Stellaris is looking great so far. I only fear for paradoxs recent business strategy of pumping out almost necessary features within their DLC and changing mechanics so they rely on the dlc.
Stellaris is looking great so far. I only fear for paradoxs recent business strategy of pumping out almost necessary features within their DLC and changing mechanics so they rely on the dlc.
I'm worried, but I still support them. They are the only source for the sort of game that I play any more. Just Paradox and quick roguelikes (ie Gungeon, Isaac, Nuclear Throne) are my diet now.
Gonna start a new mp campaign in EU4 and want to give Austria a go. I don't want to form the HRE though, because the gameplay for that just sounds boring. I was thinking of playing them as the leader of the HRE but not focus too much on reforms, and instead just try diplo-annex nations and mess up nations that try to go against the HRE or the Emperor while taking their land. Would that be a decent campaign you think? This is not a competitive game so I'm not looking for super strong plays or anything. Would it make any sense to eventually work with my friends and disband the HRE when we are strong enough, or am I just better of keeping the HRE going? Also, I've seen someone go from Austria to Italy, how the heck does that happen? :v: [editline]7th May 2016[/editline] basicaly, i wanna make a strong austria, not a strong HRE.
Stellaris is the #1 top seller on steam right now, beating Doom. Then again, Doom has been up for preorder a lot longer.
[editline]7th May 2016[/editline] basicaly, i wanna make a strong austria, not a strong HRE.
Inherit Burgundy
Stellaris is the #1 top seller on steam right now, beating Doom. Then again, Doom has been up for preorder a lot longer.
Preorders usually spike when the games about to come out anyway
That too.
So this is my first time being here and I have never tried Grand Strategy before in my life. But seeing Stellaris I think I found my first Grand Strategy game from Paradox.
Inherit Burgundy
My friend was going to play Burgundy :v:
So this is my first time being here and I have never tried Grand Strategy before in my life. Once you get past that Grand Strategy games are fairly easy.
My friend was going to play Burgundy :v:
It seems like playing Austria was designed around you forming HRE, so I'm gonna give Bavaria a go instead and do some slow expansion within the HRE and maintain strong alliances to deter coalitions. When me and my friends are strong enough we can try and dismantle the HRE, and then I can attempt to form Germany.
