Paradox Interactive Thread: V3 'Check out my sick Germany blob'

If you really want to form Germany then the Teutons are a pretty fun start if you know what you're doing/read a guide on how to form Prussia.
I've tried them several times but Poland declared war on me in like less than 5 years no matter what i did, and i wasnt able to muster a strong enough alliance to beat them.
Austria is great if you want to encapsulate the HRE so that non-germans cannot interfere with its politics
It is actually really easy to expand in a ring around the rest of the HRE once you beat France down to size and hold on to Burgundy with your life

Reminds me of all of my attempts at Byzantium. I forget what patch it was but after a certain update I can't even get anyone to high enough relations to get an alliance before the Ottomans declare war.
Im still more excited bout hoi4 though.
Any footage of people running into end game crisises in Stellaris? Saw that timelapse video but i want to see how it is exactly and i'm not going to search trough tens of hours of videos.

The one in the timelapse is the [sp]Unbidden. If you manage to research the Jump Drive, you risk the possibility of ripping a hole in the universe and entering the world of the Unbidden. The Unbidden are living energy that more or less hate you for existing.
Fallen Empires have access to Jump Drives and have mastered its capabilities, but don't want anyone else using them for that exact purpose.[/sp]
At this time it is unknown of the AI can trigger end-game disasters

And what about [sp] those HAK HAK HAK beings? Are they also from another dimension? I heard you can trigger them to spawn by using PSI drives. [/sp] And didn't the AI trigger the Unbidden?

I believe [sp]The Hak-inators, or whatever the hell, are also either triggered by research or via random encounter. And I think the AI did trigger the Unbidden, but I don't know what the possibilities are, so it may be a fluke to see them in two videos.[/sp]
Do Paradox always release on a Monday? I'm pretty new to their games but I've ordered Stellaris after reading about it and having put in a fair chunk of time into CK2.

I think Stellaris is simply releasing on a monday "just cuz". Hearts of Iron IV is releasing on June 6th to signify the anniversary of Operation Overlord
Anybody know when GMG usually sends out pre-order keys?
When the game's out on Steam. At least that's how it is for Stellaris.
According to reddit and some streamers, slaves have the inability to revolt at the current moment as PI is trying to find a way to balance it.
In the meantime, some streamers are going rampage mode and enslaving everyone they come across for no penalties.
[editline]7th May 2016[/editline]
However other than that there's no major issues so far with people who got early access to the game sans minor missing dialog/localization stuff

I think it just depends on when they get them. They sent out Division keys a few days before release

:incredible:
I just got my key, ordered from CJSKeys

Fuuuuck
Its only 4GB
I'd guess release time will be around 1EDT.
What times did EU4 and CK2 release?
Its only 4GB
That's almost a 3 day download for me :v:. Kind of funny though, I'm house sitting a house that has cable internet right now, and I'm heading back to my house with awful DSL the day before Stellaris releases. Unfortunate timing.
If only they released on Sunday instead.
Its only 4GB
4GB is a lot for some people. Theres literally nothing to be gained by not having a preload.
Regarding no Preload
- We would need to put Steam keys out into circulation before release to allow for pre-loading (otherwise we would give Steam a HUGE advantage over other retailers). The longer we would have them in circulation, the bigger the risk they end up in the wrong places. As I explained in the OP, the shady people use faked or stolen credit card information and buy them from legal sites and sell them on their own to a lower price. In many cases (we've seen it a lot in the past) the Steam keys are reported to Steam for de-activation when the payment from the middle-hand fall through. The end result is that the middle-hand gets to keep the money you paid them, but your key will be deactivated, and the game removed from your library. It's not likely the middle-hand will be replying to your complaints or issuing a refund.
And the release time
- It will be released sometime during the afternoon/evening CEST on the 9th (early morning in the US, late evening in Asia/Oceania).
It's also 2016 people. If downloading 4gb is such a huge issue then you have some big problems.

To be fair a lot of people can't really help their ISPs being draconian levels of bad.
Yeah dude, let my parents just pay the spare 4000 dollars we have lying around so we can a real modern internet connection at our house, so it won't take 4-5 hours to download 4 gigs.
I wonder if that means GMG won't have their keys until release time.
The problem is that Stellaris is releasing on a monday, a monday that also happens to be one of the busiest in the year since a lot of people either have finals or are preparing for them.

How about "Its 2016 so lets release the game at midnight on the 9th rather than the mid-afternoon for some reason."
I'd be down with that one.
