Paradox Interactive Thread: V3 'Check out my sick Germany blob'

I greatly dislike how many different things influence is needed for despite it being such a limited resource. I don't see why the same resource needed to recruit officers is needed to build an entertainment complex. It's the same issue EUIV had with monarch points when it first released.
Does the game have an end date or does it just go on forever pretty much?
There is actually a command now meant for overnight games called 'overnight #'
The number represents how many 'ticks' per second I believe, the higher it is the faster the game will progress.

No end date but your CPU will be dead after 200 years that you'll want to end it.

[sp]Release the Unbidden and discover for yourself[/sp]
So my custom empires currently are: The Culture (peaceful materialist individualists), The Old Ones (fanatic spiritualist xenophobes), IKEA Corporation (fanatic materialist pacifists) and the LEGO Corporation (fanatic materialist collectivists).
What else should I make an empire?
I'm playing multiplayer with my friend and we are doing okay, but something just strikes me as off, it will automatically accept an embassy if someone asks for one and for whatever reason I just don't have any influence at all and I can't seem to get anymore.
Stellaris is so engrossing, holy shit.
No stuttering here so far in a game with 650 systems and 17 empires, 18 including mine.
By the way
Don't pick 650 systems. Our own galaxy will burn out before this game is finished

Embassies are basically just EU4 or CK2s "Improve Relations" button.

What? 650 is nothing. I made a custom 2k star galaxy. No stuttering or lag either. Only issue is that a lot of stars have no names.
Also am i the only one who has no issues with influence points either? In the games i played, i was pretty much capped out at 1k for the most part.
Man, it just took 5 years for a 1 v 1 war to turn into a clusterfuck involving independent factions, vassals I never created, cockroach aliens from go knows where. Help...

I haven't finished a game yet, but my eco is ~+60 minerals for reference - influence is the only resource I need more of, I used an edict once but otherwise I've been dumping them into frontier outposts
The stuttering people are getting isn't related to galaxy size, I had it literally as soon as the game started on every galaxy size. It was something on Paradox's end that they apparently were aware of before the game even launched but forgot to fix. I get the feeling the game just didn't like certain systems or something.
Is it that they forgot to fix it? Or found it after the code freeze?

Someone posted what was apparently a response from a dev on the steam forums that pretty much said "oh yea that, was going to fix it but got caught up in the release". Granted it was on the steam forums so take it with a grain of salt but it's not impossible.
Space Tentacles are very friendly to me which I am glad, because they come in and out of my home system regularly.
It's pretty disconcerting but unlike Pirates at least they don't go rampaging all over my mining stations.
Is it possible to make pre-made galaxies or is it just randomly generated? I.E. Could you make an option to play on the EvE galaxy? I'm working on the solar systems right now and I get you can define a species home system.
Just got into EU IV and I have to say this is so much better than Civ. It's great fun and I just can't stop playing. Just one question: how the fuck do you guys/people on reddit manage to get such gigantic countries and dominate the planet?
Is there much benefit to enslaving pops if your species isn't decadent rather than just leaving them be as additional races in your empire?
So, I've never played any Paradox games or really any grand strategies, but Stellaris looks really intriguing. Does it do a good job introducing players who don't have experience with the genre? It looks... daunting.

Its incredibly easy, to the point I think its even detrimental. I feel like most Paradox games it's got a good structure, but inevitably it's going to need mods and dlc to be enjoyable. Thinking about it now I don't play ANY PI games vanilla.

Gamey shit, lots of it was exploits that are now fixed. Horde WC used to be insanely easy due to the mana you got from razing provinces.

Was just dicking around with the modding, and I'm pretty impressed with how straight forward it has been so far.[/QUOTE]

Get war declared on me by a faction about the same size as me. I'm sitting here with 500power fleet thinking pfft, 2 destroyers and corvettes, what bullshit you got? Bring it on. You want me to Cede my planets? Fat chance fuck face
Then this shit warps in

Okay you can have it bye
Anybody encounter the unbidden yet? Apparently they are the "Chaos" of stellaris.
Some real tongue-twister announcements in the game I'm playing with some friends

Any way to check the history of the game you are in, I lost a ship and such but I wonder if it's recorded somewhere like other games do.
The fucktard who got president of my federation decided he'd just declare war on the next biggest federation next door.
Just as a portal rips open.

Galactic Empire and Free Planets Alliance next or bust.
Okay. New Game.
Pro Tip to everyone: Build up your military and keep it built. Be like our government and order shit for the military even though the military says they don't need anymore
