Johan sounds so depressed in those Quill videos.
Should I keep bohemia and vassilize all my hre vassals as emperor, or form the hre?
because he didn't think to implement cosmetic 16-bit sprite dlc into EU1
johan already said a year ago that a rome 2 will happen in the future
I would sincerely love if they worked with the colony mechanic that's more indepth. Of actually constructing the colony and defending it instead of plopping it down.
New HOI4 Dev Diary http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?837120-Hearts-of-Iron-IV-Dev-Diary-13-Conscription-amp-Training [editline]20th February 2015[/editline] Training units seems more complex then it is in other Paradox games.
Is the authentication on the Pdox forums fucked or is it just me? btw if Victoria 3 happens, please for the love of god I hope they don't make it look like HOI4 [editline]21st February 2015[/editline]
Have you even played it? It's way too early to call it a joke. Not like it matters what it is like at launch anyway, It's going to be a completely different game two years from now when it's had 4-6 expansions released.
Why even bother with expansions
It's going to be a completely different game two years from now when it's had 4-6 expansions released.
_that is not an excuse_ [editline]21st February 2015[/editline] What the fuck is it with people and allowing Paradox to get away with this shit? "Well once you pay an extra $30 with all of the expansions, then the game is good!" [editline]21st February 2015[/editline] El Dorado seems interesting and worth a buy for a small fee, but saying "well just wait for expansions to make the game better" is asinine

You shouldn't have to wait for Expansions for a game to be enjoyable.
You have the option to not buy the game on release and view the expansions as just part of the development cycle (and get it all for cheaper I'm sure)
I've just bought CK2 but I've no idea how to play. I've been through the tutorial, read this thread's OP. Any tips I should be aware of?
I've just bought CK2 but I've no idea how to play. I've been through the tutorial, read this thread's OP. A game should be enjoyable at launch, and be improved with Expansions and Patches One should not have wait for patches and expansions for something to be enjoyable.
ideally, the only expansions that should be for sale are stuff like Sunset Invasion and cosmetic stuff, the rest should be free.
nah, developers need to be paid, so i dont mind for paying for stuff like AoW.
Haha, I just read this on the forums from a Dev, HOI4 related "4. yeah nukes gain experience, sadly it only has it for a fraction of a second as it detonates :P"
Honestly though how they do DLC is probably some of the best out of the entire gaming industry They release any balance changes/game tweaks for free even if you don't own the expansion that it was released with, they allow seeding (you don't need to own all the DLC the host has) in multiplayer sessions so the community doesn't get fractured, and all of this that they provide makes the games have a very long lifespan. CK2 came out a little over 3 years ago and is still getting frequent (free) updates and added content, I suspect the reason for that is the money that they make off of the expansions.
The New Achievements coming with patch 1.10 of EU4 http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?837313-1.10-The-New-Achievements
Is it possible to play EU4 MEIOU and Taxes online? If so, anyone wants to play?
Is it possible to play EU4 MEIOU and Taxes online? If so, anyone wants to play?
Buy me a new PC then we will play Is the authentication still bugged? What can I do to fix it? Tried clearing my cookies and setting paradoxplaza.org as an exception but it still won't let me sign in.
Doing an Eire run through and so far managed to take Scotland through marriage, and soon my heir will take Danmark (Married Danish kings daughter and did the age old 'murder your family' thing) Havent been able to take England in the same fashion due to them having elective monarchy (what do I do about that??). So it all currently looks like this, all well and good. [img_thumb]http://cloud-4.steamusercontent.com/ugc/529506867162060113/54C24D3813279747D9C58DF88B4857A38A835990/[/img_thumb] But suddenly and I dont really know how, a weak claim to the HRE becomes available. I'd only married a prince once (or twice) one or two generations ago. Also the current HRE emperor was a chaplain. Bored with my inability to wholesale claim England I thought it might be fun to give it a crack. I saved up and waited for their revolts to end, bought some Mercs and went forth to a glorious war! Alas on arrival, no foes, just open country to siege with my 20-30,000 men. It was actually the most anticlimactic war not a single engagement! At first I just assumed they where merging their levies in the fog of war. Only had to completely seige 4 provinces near Danmark to get 100% warscore. So what had happened was France had declared war before me, using the same 'Weak Claim HRE' in the process having theirs and the HRE's army completely destroyed. So leaving me no army to fight. Now Ive become emperor and inherited a war with France, though they are cheeki breeki rekt so it should be easy to finish it. [img_thumb]http://cloud-4.steamusercontent.com/ugc/529506867162052608/E872EC37FDA8B846EF4A6DE892D851F3DAD72C76/[/img_thumb] The question now is (besides crummy English elective monarchy) what should I do?? tl;dr Took HRE as Ireland without a land battle.
Wait for your empire to fracture and do it again. Aside from that, the games tends to get boring after you inherit an unstoppable war machine, so just try reaching out as far as possible before your king dies and suddenly the HRE has some other poor guy elected.
Absorb France, and then give all the duchies independence.
maximum balkanisation
1. Annex everything 2. give every province independenc 3. lel
what about giving every baron independence?
Try reaching out as far as possible before your king dies and suddenly the HRE has some other poor guy elected.
My son is the current heir, and in ten years (current character age 46) I can change it to primogeniture. I'm not concerned with loosing my monster, but yeah it might get a bit boring.
Absorb France, and then give all the duchies independence.
I think I might give this a try, Europe consisting of only Duchies. [editline]23rd February 2015[/editline]
what about giving every baron independence?
Im looking forward to making a disgusting paint splotch Europe.
Im looking forward to making a disgusting paint splotch Europe.
- Max crown authority - Independence for coastal regions - Become Landlocked - Holy Swiss Empire
I always thought that an FP CK2 multiplayer game would be played in 769 as everyone being a vassal of an AI Charlemagne
