I'm really sucking at building a proper fleet... That reddit guide didn't help me either, why do i have to build fucking 3-4 designs for each ship?
The planet limit is really shitty and the way sectors work suck ass so i might mod it out. I annexed an empire by taking their 3 planets then purged one planet. Apparently my pops are unhappy due to alien slaves even though i'm xenophobic but whatever. Shortly after this an alliance of 4-5 empires declared war on me. Great. I don't even have any allies because in the previous game, i got dragged into stupid wars while they did fucking nothing as i kept the whole enemy fleet distracted in my territory troughout most of the war, so IMO alliances aren't worth it.
But yeah i'm struggling to build ships and getting over 1-2k strength.
The game really needs bugfixes and AI balances. Also Ironman saves way too fucking often. Seriously, i can't play it due to getting auto saves every single month.
Because specialization. Having multitudes of ships that are each capable in a certain field is superior to making ships that are a jack-of-all-trades or focused all in one area.
Wormhole travel is the best form of travel tbh
I can only manage the size of what I have by having a vast set of fleets/wings/squadrons guarding my borders and colonies.
Not playing Mike Oldfield in a fleet battle.
It's like you want to lose.

Despite being Xenophobic I found two planets of Pre-FTL species which I wish to keep for myself for genetic purposes.
I sense a war looming as a distant colony is on the border of another large faction/empire whatever.
I lack in everything except advanced kinetic weaponry, deflectors and armour for my vessels, I have build a few destroyers and two fleets of modified corvettes for attacking and flanking but other than that I am in shit street if I am forced into a war.
Having primitives on hand for enslavement purposes is always handy
So how is Stellaris? How is it compared to other Paradox games? Is it worth £34.99?
I wish AI or synth leaders were a thing, along with more options to extend the lifespan of your species.
It doesn't feel right to me that people die at age 70 in a space empire capable of terraforming planets. My leaders never accrue any interesting traits, it's a bummer.

It's $32 right now on Green Man Gaming with the 20OFF voucher. I'm happy with it for that.
Well, I had that thing happen where I was playing a campaign as humans from Sol and ran into other humans from another Sol.
We're collectivists, they're fanatic individualists.
I can't wait to see where this leads.
EDIT: God damn, this galaxy is really filled with freedom-loving peaceniks. Not a single despot or dictatorship around. Everyone hates me.
Yeon League declared Yeon Combined States their rival. Yeons don't like other Yeons very much.

Made a little somethin:

Modding isn't as hard as I imagined it'd be.
It doesn't shamble around, but maybe I'll figure that out eventually.
The Combine aren't from Xen though.
[sp]I know we don't actually know where they're from but still[/sp]
Huh, found a species on a planet that has 100% living conditions on a tomb world. Now I uplifted them so I can use them/

Yeah, small nitpick but you should change it to Overworld.

Cockroaches?
Still waiting for that FTL mod.
Is anyone else having issues forming alliances?
Yeah, small nitpick but you should change it to Overworld.
Doesn't come with the "Empire" itself, but I suppose I'll do that if I add a custom empire with it.
One can add some interesting empire specific things to custom mod empires, so perhaps its worth doing.
Does anyone know what the striped territory means?
Does anyone know what the striped territory means?
This? I think it means there's conflicting influences, usually seems to happen when some primitive empire evolves into the space age where another empire already exists.
Does anyone know what the striped territory means?
I think it means ownership is contested. Only time I've seen it was when the AI took a planet in the middle of another AI's territory.
Does anyone know what the striped territory means?
Multiple empires own planets in the same system.
As said above, primitives evolving to space can cause it.
It can also happen if you take a planet in a war goal, but there is still another planet in that system owned by another empire.
Can't wait for a proper Mass Effect and Halo mod
It would be The Shit
a proper 40K mod would be awesome as well. One thing that could help with this is BF:G providing good models to port over*
*as long as there's low-poly version to prevent stellaris from exploding
[editline]12th May 2016[/editline]
pretty much any large scale sci-fi game can use a stellaris mod :v:
I want to say Battlestar Galactica wouldn't, but at the same time it sort of would

What I've got going on so far. Nearly the whole south of the Galaxy is united as a single Federation called the Righteous Axis. So I'm *trying* to unite the north for what will inevitably be a bunch of bullshit
It's 1k Stars with 29 empires or somewhere there abouts
I'm finding out that factions pop up and can do all sorts of sabotage, even take over a planet. They demand the entire SECTOR they belong to to be independent. It's pretty awesome how if you don't manage it or clamp that shit down by suppressing the media or bribing the leaders, it can get out of hand fast. Or you could just grant them independence but fuck that. They called me ugly, so now they belong to me

Large Empires end up dominating the pathetic Federations, I don't like the mechanics of them at all.

[editline]12th May 2016[/editline]
I also have a lot of gripes with the game after 24 hours of playing, there's no ledgers, no way to quickly see federations, and there's no ticking war-score for captured goals, which means I have to wait for the other members of a federation across the galaxy to come to me and get destroyed by my fleets.
[editline]12th May 2016[/editline]
Also I don't know how the AI declares war; it seems they follow the CKII motto of if they have more troops avoid, but the Sol Commonwealth declared war on their fellow man despite having a fleet of only 1K compared to my 45K. I purged Earth of the false-humans after that an renamed it Terra.
[img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/EfZX2BD.jpg[/img_thumb]
Coming for your home planet, bitch
I'm sitting here laughing at the fact that people complain about the AI, yet in my first war I've had the AI lose the first battle to me, only to come back with a fleet of corvettes equipped to hard counter my ships.
:v::suicide:
Can anyone confirm does a research agreement share technology?
iirc from reading its description briefly, It seems to add a research bonus if the other empire has researched something you're trying to research.
