Alright guys I have a moral problem.
The Xansh Separatist Fighters want an independent Xansh sector, which consists of three of my planets. I just got a mission stating that a meteor is heading towards Xansh, which would result in an extinction event.
Should I continue dealing with the XSF or just let the meteor fix the problem for me?
edit: Oh wait there's only a single robot inhabiting that planet. That won't solve anything. :v:
Evacuate the robot, purge the rest.

As it turns out, wiping out the asteroid immediately destroyed all support the XSF had, as the people of the Xershi system were celebrating in the streets. So I kept the planet and fucked with the XSF.
Unfortunately the Unbidden have appeared so I have... significantly bigger problems.

Load up the troop transports with separatist scum and throw them at the enemy in a delaying action.
I managed to destroy their portal, but it didn't stop them from building a fuckhuge unstoppable fleet.
And they literally just dropped out of nowhere on top of the planet I parked my fleet and wiped it out. What weaponry would you guys suggest for fighting the Unbidden so that I don't have to start a new game?
How big of a fleet does the unbidden start with?
Just in the middle of a Prethoryn crises event and it's probably the most frustrating thing. They landed in an empire only a few jumps away from mine so I decided to go straight on the offensive. However, of course I can't actually assist them because I can't get military access to their systems. When eventually they lose their system I jump in, kill 3 x 20k fleets and destroy the infestation. The game then decides the planet goes back to the original empire and kicks me out again...

IIRC they said something about adding a complete open borders feature that was on by default for all empires, and then adding a diplomatic option to close these borders. That should fix this issue.

I expect their 34k fleet will have made short work of their enemies by then allowing me free access.
Now their needs to be a proper method of co-ordinating attacks with the rest of the federation. I expected there to be an attack here option...
Anyone tried out any of the Stellaris mods yet? Some do look interesting, but I feel like you should be careful in what you install.
Also any tips when you get really boxed in by a friendly empire? Basically limiting you to very few systems, and due to they having a larger space than you and spawned very close to you, you can't contest them in war due to being superior to you? I tried getting civilian access but then all the other empires borders were a problem. I don't know if I was slow at colonizing and exploring but I don't think I was.
Mods for paradox games have their own folders, so if something doesn't work you just delete/uninstall it.

It seems like the AI chooses xenophobe too often. I almost never see any AI races that are neutral between xenophile and xenophobe, but maybe I'm just unlucky.
Man twitch chat on HOI4, "will there be a randomized world like in Civ 5"?
:v:
The way strategic resources work with sectors is really frustrating... You should be able to set them to pull from the resource pool regardless if its being gathered in the sector or not.
I feel like it'd be easier for sectors if you got all of their income, but then could reallocate it back into sectors per month. That way you get fine control over budgeting in sectors and could still spark their economies every once in a while with instant transfers.

For me it was continuously pumping out fleets of 17k power. I had immediately mobilized my entire fleet to wipe out their portal but it didn't stop them from pushing out 3 complete fleets of 17k each.

Sectors in general piss me off - I put my ringworld into a sector with redevelopment turned off and they still decided it'd be totally cool to repurpose the industrial segment (which had tiles pumping out like 16 minerals each per month) to a fucking research segment. They did the same with the agrarian segment too, but the food it was making was going to waste anyway so it didn't bother me nearly as much.

My war machine has been deprived of like 300 minerals per month because the sector AI won't stick to its settings >:(
Fuck you've got a lot of shit, wow. 14 core worlds max? I thought I was cheesing it with 7.
Ran into a bunch of slaving humans. First thing they said to me was how good my children would look in their mines.
So I liberated all of their colonies for them.

I assume the concern is that one or two sectors will build all of the building that use the resources and prevent the player or other sectors from using them. Being able to manually allocate the resources to sectors would be nice.
Managed to get a custom ship model ingame.

Has some weird lighting problems though (that and the vanilla turret tumor), but hopefully I should be able to do something about that.
It would be nice if divine mandates and the like had an actual religion to spread but I doubt they'll ever add that. Having a civil war caused by a schism or having far off planets develop their own bizarre religion as part of the normal game would be neat.

Future expansion pack no doubt.
Does anyone know if the space stations actually improve their weapons as you research better tech? Regardless of having researched level 5 lasers the military strength of all of my space stations is still the same as they were when I only had level 1.

They don't as far as I can tell. The auto-best space station in all of my games remains exactly the same even as literally every other ship updates. You can manually update their designs but I don't think there is a way to actually update already built stations.

Only spaceports do, military stations need to be disbanded and rebuilt as you update their designs.
Why in gods name would you build a Privatized Colony Ship? Like, it's a super neat idea, but I didn't get this tech until I was deep into psi warriors and genetic modifications, having a half price colony ship is not what I'm caring about right now. Squashing dirty xeno rebels is more important than setting up a colony of future rebels.
I got it super early once, and it really helped me a fuckton.

Which is really stupid tbh, you should be able to just use a construction ship or something to update them.

I'd really prefer just a standard tech tree than this random tech bullshit.

My bad, I was referring to the space ports, not the defense platforms/stations and fortresses.

Thanks.

Civ 5 Beyond Earth's tech tree is something I can see in this game. At the moment, the tech tree is ridiculous. I've reloaded saves and had different technologies pop up.
