I hope that comes back in HOI4.
One of my allies is fucking retarded, a couple of other planets like this

All I can imagine is a red, triple digit number where his mineral profits should be.

Well that was fun. I knew it was going to happen
Where can I find a pic of that bear with a helmet and using a radio?
jesus what did paradox do to AE in eu4 1.17. I took 4 provinces and literally the entire HRE is dogpiling a coaliton on me. so my brother and I agreed it'd be better to just revert to a earlier save and not deal with dismantling this early on and i instead took 2 provinces (that which were my claims and one of them was my wargoal). checking coalition mapmode I got 50 AE on pretty much the majority of my neighbors (interestingly the peace treaty AE projection said maximum 30~) and another coalition dogpile. i don't remember HRE getting that antsy over such a tiny amount of provs. 4 is understandable, but 2? what the hell happened. I even checked my coalition mapmode during the war before i peaced those provs and my neighboring AE were a grand spanking 0, so there wasn't any AE from spy buildup.

On the bright side they seemed to have fixed suicidal AI alliances, but it's still early in our game so I haven't gotten to encounter any yet.
It is a dog BTW, not a bear.
wtf
You mean there's a dog bear or a bear dog? Man, I need to find one.
On the other hand, any news or rumours regarding a possible Vic 3? I havent been checking the forums for a long time so you guys might know something
No, it is straight up a dog. Looks nothing like a bear :v:
Stellaris could be the one of the best Paradox games ever with some little tweaks that I'm sure they'll fix, or modders will. It's great fun being able to genetically engineer a giant cockroach to achieve sentience, then use them to colonize planets and then create super soldier versions of them to assault your enemies.
I kind of wish you had the option to focus on building arcologies instead of using different species to colonize. Make it a less effective but more "safe" alternative to genetic engineering.

This could be done using a mod. Create a building that adds habitability and some negative modifiers and require either a few or make it have worse modifiers. The frontier clinic makes the planet 5% more habitable, so maybe an arcology building could make it 20% more habitable but also reduce happiness and maybe increase ethics divergence, while also costing a decent amount of energy to run? It could be a mid tech game, maybe introduced after atmospheric filtering, frontier health, and some other tech?
In Stellaris I decided to play a game as the Galactic Empire from Star Wars. I haven't downloaded any mods (with the exception of that color one) so my faction is put together using things already in-game.
While setting up the game, I decided just for the hell of it to include the Rebel Alliance as well, so I quickly made something up and set it so it was guaranteed to be in the game. I then set the game to 1000 stars, maximum amount of AI.

My early game was the biggest steamroll I have ever pulled off yet. After 10 years I took my fleet of 16 "TIE Fighters" (in actuality they're just those mammalian flying USB sticks Paradox calls a corvette) and conquered and enslaved my neighbor. I was making more minerals from this conquest and I had a larger fleet capacity now. So then I built more ships and conquered my neighbor's neighbors. And then their neighbors, etc. Until finally, less than 40 years into the game, my Empire looked like this.

I dared not go any farther north because I wanted to step back and consolidate my holdings. I spent the next few dozen years scanning all the systems I had acquired, building mining and research stations, as well as clearing out all the hostile alien life that was still present.

Unbeknownst to me though, the rebel scum had been busy. Not only did it survive against other empires in the early game, but by the time I find out about them they had also made the single largest Federation on the entire map. They were turbo-pissed about my constant warmongering and it didn't take long for them to declare a war of liberation (which is still ongoing at the time of this post). The combined might of their fleets had me at -15 in Relative Fleet Strength at the start of the war. This is hands down the most fun war I've had to fight yet ever since I got this game on release.
Here is a picture of the state of war. The black outline is literally just me while the red outline is the Rebel Alliance's federation.

It is a time of peril as the many races of the Rebel Alliance band together to stop the all-engulfing Galactic Empire. The fate of the galaxy hangs in the balance.
I doubt it will even be discounted that much. Brand new releases rarely are.
You're gonna have to wait a while, and with the way Paradox handles DLC over a long time it's going to be an investment. All of the good CK2 DLC add up to 55$

I was hoping it wasn't a Habsburg Germany.
You done me proud son. South German families best ones.
I think this is about as close as you can get to an Imperial Star Destroyer in Stellaris.

Mammalian-style battleship with Life Breaker, Thrasher Core, and Epoch Bulwark.
If this game can support custom ships more then its gonna be the new sins of a solar empire. I can already taste the star wars and star trek mods.
Installed this music mod from the workshop and man it was a good decision. It feels like Stellaris has a grand total of 3 songs and after 5 hours I just turned the music off.

It seems the game just picks everything in the system and gives it to the species there when they appear.

yeah i annexed a vassal once and they had crystal and space amoeba ships. i was able to use them but they couldnt use ftl so i just got rid of them.
I figured out how to optimize sectors. (Fanatic collectivist or xenophobe recommended)
Make two sectors, one covering each half of your empire, sans core worlds. Allow for redevelopment so the sectors can build what they want, and tell them to NOT respect tile resources. Have one set to minerals and the other to energy. When you need more minerals, conquer and enslave in that direction. when you need more energy, conquer and enslave in the other.
"But slaves aren't that good at collecting energy"
That just means get more slaves.
I've had a blast in this campaign up until now, now it's way too easy. the AI isn't able to keep up at all anymore. I've maxed my naval capacity, I have a population of about 700-800 not including the other species I've integrated (the guy behind me is only at 250), my fleet easily soloed the unbidden and managed to only lose 1 destroyer and less than 10 corvettes. there's no challenge at all anymore, all I really do now is expand with no resistance and wait for research to finish. regarding research too, soo boring research late game. it's all just stats modifiers, nothing new.

The AI are beyond terrible at anything but the hardest difficulty. And even then ya still need to make everyone but you have an advanced start.

In my multiplayer game, my friend has over 1,700 pop and huge fleets, but the issue is the other half of the galaxy are all in alliances or federations, so even though we can RoflStomp any empire (Except one, really, who's of equal size) when they band together they can hit you pretty effectively
I just hope we get DLC-like mods with those overhaul updates soon, I'd rather not touch Stellaris until it has more options available to play around with. Also the game desperately needs flavor. Look at the likes of Alpha Centauri and how that game did its tidbits of lore/factions and options, even if it's really old it just oozes flavor in everything it does. Paradox games usually have that flavor built in because they're historical games and events/factions already have the merit of already existing, so you have your French Revolution events to contribute. Stellaris has some of this in the form of anomalies and end-game crisis events but that's all there is really. It's kind of why I think custom Nations in Europe Universalis are really boring, they just have nothing special about them besides what you name it. Crusader Kings 2 custom nations at least have the history of your nation as its build up and flavor, but Crusader Kings 2 is where you kind of create that stuff yourself anyway.
Some things I'd like to see are leader-tied events (Good and Bad), more negative events that can screw with your game (We have, what, rebels and end game crisis?), and something kind of niche that I'd like would be a way to customize your pre-FTL species history that can effect your game in some way.
