how do you add new theatres?
Is there some specific format you need to save .tga's in? I can't get my flags to show up ingame, they're just invisible. I have no idea how this steam workshop shit works either, so convoluted. 'E:\My Documents\Paradox Interactive\Hearts of Iron IV\mod\historicalflags\gfx\flags' if it's correct? This will save me from ripping out my hair, remember kids always save in 32-bit, don't let p.net fuck your shit with auto.
Extra prepared for my first proper foray into the HoI series [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/UicFHob.jpg[/thumb]
Is there something I'm missing here? I have enough men fielded do I not? I need that sweet sweet IC. [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/268341842922833569/56BEA877B7C2E74C856065E8BC4DF8AF92CF5B87/[/t]

Also i have no idea what i'm doing... I'm extremely used at HOI3 but here, i can't figure out how to do stuff and i really fucking hate this new map because i can't see the provinces clearly. What the hell were they thinking? At this point, some stuff are more confusing than in HOI3. Maybe i should go trough the tutorial... I guess i'm just way too used to HOI3.
You should probably do the tutorial.
how do you add new theatres?
When you have some troops selected there should be a button under your current theatres which makes a new one with them in it.
when does the tutorial end? i got the ribbentrop pact but couldnt invade poland. i dont think historical event should even be in the focus tree to start with its fucking retarded you should have to use diplo to try and force them to proc early
https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/mod-kaiserreich.942457/ It has begun [editline]6th June 2016[/editline]
when does the tutorial end? i got the ribbentrop pact but couldnt invade poland. i dont think historical event should even be in the focus tree to start with its fucking retarded you should have to use diplo to try and force them to proc early
The tutorial doesn't really end, you can keep playing as Italy and it turns into a normal save [editline]6th June 2016[/editline] I coup'd Britain as Germany, and it came out as "British Empire". Oswald is a control, and its the BUF flag.
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=698660211 Didn't take long [editline]6th June 2016[/editline] Wow, so leader portraits, are 156x210 Which is not a multiple of four, so the Nvidia DDS plugin for Photoshop won't save it.
Yeah, I had that problem while modding Stellaris DDS files. You need the Intel texture works dds plugin to edit that kind of DDS. Apparently DDS files don't have to be in multiples anymore (well, as long as your GFX card isn't super old). who was it who did the germany prerelease play? i want to see what im doing wrong with poland, otherwise i might try a japan game
Got to 1940 as the UK and I can safely say I'm having a blast, any tips on the air game though?
Pretty sure you have to deploy them first. Also i have no idea what i'm doing... And yeah, this is waaaaay harder to navigate than HOI3. The provinces are hard to tell apart with this murky shit over the countries and no terrain map mode I have to fucking hover my mouse over every provinces to be able to discern what route I should take. Dear lord....
I'm playing as the UK and it's 1937 and nothing has really happened. I've sorta figured out how to make a largish army, and I'm itching to deploy them somewhere to start taking over small countries, however I'm unable to do anything as world tension isn't high enough. Surely you're not forced to sit and wait for 4 years until shit starts kicking off? I can't figure out who I'll even attack so I can't send my army somewhere and have them wait to attack either. [editline]7th June 2016[/editline] Also, is recruiting one division basically recruiting one army or is that just one unit?
I heard there's some discount coupons for HoI4 knocking around. Is this true?
My sectors in Stellaris are now just not building anything, even when redevelopment is turned on, and they have plenty of resources.
I can't seem to get any achievements. I don't have any mods installed, ironman is enabled. What is the current checksum?
I got no achievements either. [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/485640524942650934/3C44623EC43970AF7CE5BB0F4909F0E801E33350/[/t] All this for nothing! :v:

Anyone here mind sending me the flag files? I wanna take a crack at making a quick mod.
Anyone here mind sending me the flag files? I wanna take a crack at making a quick mod.
They're all in the game.
I conquered China as Japan, somehow made Japan democratic, made my own alliance, and I'm on good terms with the allies. I think it's going well for my first actual play through of a Hearts of Iron game.
Is there still a NATO counters view in HoI4?
Is there still a NATO counters view in HoI4?
It's under the options, yes.
This game is piss easy. I'm disappointed, it's also half assed. No bitter peace event, no RKO's. Not even a fucking event, you just annex the SU. Why does Paradox always leave EVERYTHING undone? The Garrison command doesn't work propperly ever, I had Normandy get invaded like 5 times despite having it on. Italy got invaded by the Brits somehow until I pushed them back and killed them all. I don't get it, the AI is brain dead. You can also just farm experience for your troops as Germany. Send Panzer Corps to the SCW and Sino-Japanese war. Ram them through their lines and have the Japanese breach through. I had them create China-Nanjing (and never give them any land with it, what the fuck is the point of the puppet state then?) in '39. tl;dr Rush Anschluss, Rush Munich-Agreement, build up Infrastructure in Poland. Annex Russia. Blow the Royal Navy to pieces in port with Naval Bombers and you've practically won. Oh yeah and the Platypus Empire is in the game, I assume the Thunder Fuck whatever in Tibet is too.
What are some of the biggest issues you all have encountered with HOI4? I held off on buying it because it looks so painfully casualized and incomplete compared to the others. It seems like a lot of people aren't impressed.
The AI is retarded, the tech system is dumbed down you can get pretty much everything you need, air force now only is a multiplier. You can't actually damage enemy troops if you're not in fucking combat (bye bye interdiction). I maxed the submarine tech tree in '41 and the Royal Navy can't even find my '36 subs so I'm just blowing up their convoys left and right. Event's are boring, there doesn't seem to be any depth in the world. In HoI3 if you weren't a major (and even if you were depending on the nation) you had to choose. Jack of all trades or specialized in a certain field. I don't see that here. There's lots of other stuff I can't think of right now, but I'd avoid this game. It will need mods...
Is there a way to somehow increase the amount of manpower you gain? Is it just a matter of how much land I have or is there more to it?
It's a monthly gain. Conscription laws are a % modifier of it.
It's a monthly gain. Conscription laws are a % modifier of it.
Yeah, but it's a percentage of your total population, which is influenced by a monthly gain in total population. I'm wondering if more land = more population growth or if something else effects it.
