Y'know, you'd think after having all of Europe turning red, repetitive failed naval invasions against my posessions, and [B][I]four[/I][/B] nuclear weapons dropped on major cities (sans London), the UK would buckle.

Nukes really need to be more effective in this, not just "damage a couple factories and infrastructure, take a minor hit to unity"

I shit out a load of green units and convinced Mexico to help me out and join the war. Managed to get rid of those bastards and sort everything out.

The War in Europe pretty much sorted itself out without any help from me. I invaded Japan in the end and built some ports so that all the other allies (me not included as i have my own faction) landed in my ports and finished off the global war.

Now I'm just securing most of the end techs and Russia is trying funny business in Europe it seems.

I survived!

not at the current rate it seems

i think i might be perfectly happy waiting a year because i know for a fact if i buy it now i just won't enjoy it

honestly it seems like pdox thought eu4 was the standard for any new releases and it's just the wrong attitude (imo), i can appreciate simplifying mechanics and casualising it for a bigger market, but it just doesn't reach darkest hour as the overall high water mark for the hoi series in general (and that was a different dev even)

thing is, pdox just have the gsg market anyway and most competing devs aren't up to scratch

what i do like however, is the good faith attempt in fixing the over complication of hoi3 and some of the new mechanics like equipment and factories

I don't know, as someone who honestly struggled to get into HoI3 I can appreciate a lot of the changes made in HoI4. The number one being I can actually play it now.

I struggled to get into HOI3 for like a year and a half, but once I started to understand how the game works I really came to appreciate its mechanics.

For that reason I have a bad feeling about HOI4. Especially after seeing that armies can apparently just walk wherever they want now.

If you click tutorial and then resume fast enough on the main menu, it will load your save game with the tutorial pop ups.

Or the other way around, either way both need to be clicked. Interesting bug that one.

In the V2 tutorial, it doesn't reset the game after you're done. So when you go to the country selection screen, it's 1837 or later. With countries at war as they were in the tutorial.

So I switched to japan and cheated.
