Paradox Interactive Thread: V3 'Check out my sick Germany blob'

Certain countries feel really gimped compared to HoI3, Austria for example. Their tech tree makes no sense, they have no GW equipment and their OOB is woefully incorrect. France also feels underwhelming and has trouble taking on a '36 Germany.
Star Trek: Infinites looks like its going to be a great Star Trek mod. It is being made by the same team behind Armada 3 for Sins of Solar Empire
They have a thread on the official forums and a moddb page

Probably my biggest encirclement yet(I generally fuck up). This was all because Japan was bright enough to put 50 divisions in one province. Tactics AI needs to not do that basically.

Though it is entertaining to see a force twice of my entire forces(Granted I had the nationalists to help) encircled.
why would you ever join the united chinese front
why would you ever join the united chinese front
It allowed me to grab all of japan's land after the event with the defecting nationalist state happened so it worked out for me. Apparently if you boost the party in Nationalist China at a certain % a state can defect to you(but lose the infleunce).
And I doubt I would have been able to defeat Japan by myself(even if I did grab some nationalist land).
Before that game I tried without the unified front and it ended with Japan grabbing most of China, leaving me fucked.
It really sucks that Japan got into the axis and called in Italy like 5 months before I invaded them.
whenever I play PRC I just hold the japs in the shanxi mountains while annexing the rest of china and flipping nationalist states to me. hasn't really ever been a problem to hold off the japs until I can start pushing them back and holding manchuria by myself. only real issue can be that china might join the allies.
They did though. But it was pretty sad.
The more one reads about the opening stages of WWII the more obivous it becomes that the allies were still stuck in 1918 tactics-wise.

France is more focused on restructuring and getting factories going instead of pumping out more forces.

That's fine and dandy and all. I like that France is portrayed as a divided country. However in the lead up to Poland being invaded the French could have wiped the floor with the Germans. It seems as if most nations are 1:1 or gimped by tech as I said earlier.

In Darkest Hour you could do this in the provinces near Nanjing by 1942-1943.
You just had to mass motorized inf and cavarly in a 'plains' province, surrounded by doomstacks of militias, then you quickly withdraw the units occupying said province, and when the japanese attacked you would just launch a massive counteroffensive.
As the japanese weren't entrenched and you were attacking a 'plains' province with no DEF bonus, it would become a massacre. With a grand marshall in each province, you could send like 60-80 divisions with no stacking penalties.
Bonus points because the AI was retarded to just keep dumping units into that newly occupied territory. By 1944 basically you are wiping out whole divisions as their manpower just can't keep up.
Trying to switch my succession laws from Gavelkind to Primogeniture or Ultimogeniture. Only problem is my vassals fighting one another, so I can't pass the law?
Is there anyway to do this besides giving council power and then doing enforce realm peace? I'd prefer to not do that. My empire is massive, making this a pain.

I decided to see what would happen if I left an overnight Stellaris game with only 2 races on the largest map possible.
I assumed the galaxy would just be them, the fallen empire and a few minors that got propped up along the way.
But one of the original empires doesn't exist anymore. Looks like it was overthrown by minor power that popped up over the years.

The building textures are already in the game files.
Crusader Kings II can be a right bitch at times
While I (Emperor of France) am at war with my vassals over council power, Saxony decided to fuck with my enemy, therefore when I got 100% warscore I couldn't enforce demands because the revolt's territories were occupied by Saxony.
And in the meantime Oddr decides to wage war over Brittany
And I got five Cathar uprisings while the first war was still going on
fml
Did they stop Sol from spawning or make it rarer? I have not seen it in a few games.
Just got into my first major interstellar war with a coalition that thought now was as good a time as ever to grab some of my worlds.
While their attempts at invading my space are adorable, I've only just realized that I need to go on the offensive, sooner or later. Which leads me to a question that's really grinding my gears.
Why can't we ruin worlds with the Large-scale weaponry you unlock later in the game? I don't want to invade or control their worlds, I want to glass them with the purifying flame of tachyon beams.

Interesting, I'm playing a lot of Hearts of Iron 4 recently and EUIV, how easy would Stellaris be to get into?
very
Bought it, fucking awesome. Paradox really outdid themselves this time.

I believe there is a mod for that, modding support for Stellaris is pretty freaking great.

Jesus how many Modern Day Mods does HOI4 need? Mind you think is the only one on the Workshop AFAIk, but there are a few being made over on the forums
Because no one wants to cooperate.
It's just like ARMA, no one works together on shit.
Wow, almost historical

This one seems to have the most effort put into it
-snip-
Since Kaiserreich is adding 33000 ministers, they expanded the minister window. Obviously a WIP

I'd love to see a paradox strategy game that takes place in modern era tbh.
Oh shit, I didn't realize they were hosted on the forums, I'll mirror them
