is this a subtle way of saying "this is the last ck2 dlc"
Didn't they say they have one big one left?
is this a subtle way of saying "this is the last ck2 dlc"
Actually they mentioned that there are at least two left
Is it time to let go after 11 (soon to be 12) expansions? Not a chance! There are still some areas left to explore, and when we finally decide the time has come, I want the game to be in the best shape possible. We’ll soon be announcing the upcoming expansion, which is slated for release in late August. It’s not a huge one this time around, but there is plenty of good stuff in there as you've probably gleaned from Darkrenown's diaries. After that, we have two more expansions teed up.
Heres the compressed info on the DLC from the Paradox Store Page
The Reaper’s Due is the newest expansion for Crusader Kings II, the best-selling medieval strategy simulator from Paradox Development Studio. This expansion highlights the historic importance of epidemics and disease in the Middle Ages, especially the Black Death – an outbreak of the bubonic plague that may have killed a third of the population of Europe. The Reaper’s Due introduces many new systems and features to what is already the richest medieval tapestry in gaming: Epidemics: Diseases may spread from province to province along trade and sea lanes, lowering your income and available soldiers Prosperity and Royal Focus: Well managed provinces in peaceful kingdoms will pay huge dividends in gold and manpower Hospitals and Royal Physicians: Prevent the outbreak of disease in your kingdom, and make sure your courtiers have access to the latest in Dark Ages Medical Science Royal Seclusion: Shield yourself from the diseases tearing your kingdom apart, even if it means ignoring the plight of your people New Event Chains: Is the new epidemic the End of Days? Is there someone else to blame for these horrors? Are there supernatural origins or solutions to the world’s problems?
Also it looks like they released a CK spinoff on the App storeand Google Play store called "Crusader Kings Chronicles
Crusader Kings: Chronicles is an interactive text based game that puts you in the shoes of Guy de Rose as you make your own choices in defending the castle, riding into battle, plotting cunning plans and maybe even engaging in a bit of carnal sin! Crusader Kings: Chronicles takes place in the middle of the war-torn borderlands, where the Scots and the Brits battle for the power and all sense of chivalry is only skin-deep. Retold through the words of the renowned author M Harold Page you must try to save your inheritance, your life and your humble castle from the hands of a ruthless enemy knight, out to claim what your father left you. Are you going to solve your problems with brute force, with cunning or by trying to be a better man than your adversary and appeal to his sense of honor?
Its 5 buckaroos and honestly it does not sound worth it. It also unlocks some DLC for CK2 if you buy it and link your Paradox account.
· The gamebook will unlock a new soundtrack and a few new event chains in the main CK2 desktop game, on August 25 , 2016. The user will have to be logged in with the PDX account and download the latest patch that will be released on August 25 2016.
Probably the same style as that HOI4 choose your own adventure game
So the problem i'm having with the stellaris lategame is not only does the things to do slowly trickle to a halt, but the game itself slows down because Ai do stupid shit like this and the game struggles to keep time moving forward.[t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/491274240806837863/848ACFB7E9D3DB1B7658FFBE57B07E4C7E6FC17B/[/t] That's the entire sentinel fleet warping in circles, choking the game in the background because it's 2016 and nobody told paradox what multi-threading is.
The games do have multi-threading. They're just not 64bit.
So here's some alt-history: On March 11th, 1936 Germany attempted to remilitarize the Rhineland. Due to this breaking the Treaty of Versailles after World War I, France was outraged and took it as a declaration of war. The United Kingdom, still war-weary and unwilling to contend with the Reich, accepted Germany's advance. France was alone in the war. In the opening days of the war, the entire Armée de Terre stormed the border near the Maginot Line. Motorized troops pushed and quickly captured Frankfurt and Munich. At the same time, a Communist rebellion occurred near Calais. A few troops were dispatched and captured the rebel cities in a few weeks and then rejoined the war effort in Germany. After weeks of desperate fighting and pushing into German borders, the bulk of the Fatherland's armies were trapped in the area surrounding Stuttgart and encircled. Their positions were fortified and strong, and they would hold out until the war's end. Meanwhile, France's armies pushed north and eastward, capturing Hamburg, Leipzig, Breslau, Dresden, Magdeburg, Hannover, and Kiel. Lastly, troops bearing the French tri-color stormed Berlin. After a short few hours, the German Reich surrendered unconditionally, their reign of terror having only lasted a few short months. When they capitulated, Italy joined the Axis, seemingly about to go into the war on Germany's side. With the Alpine border completely undefended, Alphonse Georges, the Marshall of France, quickly ordered the Armée to redeploy on the French-Italian border. However the declaration of war never came. Two days later, the German Reich surrendered to France. In the history books, all that shall be written is that in 1936, Germany broke the Treaty of Versailles and instigated the 1936 War of German Aggression between Germany and France over the remilitarization of the Rhineland territories. The war lasted 1 month and 15 days, from March 11th to April 26th, 1936. 34 thousand French soldiers died, and 150 thousand German soldiers died. Upon the completion of the war, France annexed Germany's territories totally. Here is the state of the world the morning after the Treaty of Königsberg was signed. Gross, why would you annex them outright?
Gross, why would you annex them outright?
Dem factories and resources son
if you ever mess with the beautiful and most aesthetic borders in the world (the french borders) you should just nuke yourself
Nah those 40 factories you start with are enough for the entire game.
Plus for roleplay purposes, I'm occupying Germany and am in the process of setting up a new government and adding French soldiers around the country, stationed to safeguard against further threat. In my opinion you can't just set up a new country in an hour (a peace settlement) [editline]22nd July 2016[/editline] After I've used their industry to help me out a bit, I'll release it as a puppet, but until the soviet union decides they're going to play nice, that won't happen for a bit.
Germany what are you doing that is not Germany [t]http://i.imgur.com/FfqbbgA.jpg[/t]
I'd like to thank the Royal Navy for cocking everything up and not hunting down my fleet before I could get my naval invasion ready. Mind you, they almost got me right as the convoy was about to land, resulting in a day-long battle where the transport ships frantically skedaddled from enemy warships while my own smaller force bloodied them enough to back off. Exciting.
The naval and air force UIs are really clunky and unintuitive. I also love how as the Brits, I'm not allowed to scoot my way into the Baltic because of (reasons?) so therefore I suppose Poseidon himself comes and says "Nah m8" even though I should be able to go over Jutland and into the Baltic regardless of if Germany wants me to do so or not.

Even if they have literally no navy I guess Paradox just assumes they line the shores with anti-ship guns.
Hell that doesnt make much sense either, shore batteries were never really used to much effect against actual warships. Maybe an attrition mechanic. I can understand not allowing people to use the Panama canal and the suez, but Gibraltar makes no sense. If you own and control Gibraltar you effectively win the naval war because you cut or any external reinforcements
-snip bad reading-
Can't start hearts of iron 4, all I get is an error message "Failed to create a graphics device. Exiting' fuck off [editline]24th July 2016[/editline] well, reinstalling drivers two times fixed it
Mods are not downloading for me anymore, for both Stellaris and HOI4. [editline]24th July 2016[/editline] I mean, they download, I see the progress in steam, but they're not in the paradox folder, and not showing up in the mods list in the launcher. [editline]24th July 2016[/editline] My Paradox Folder is stuck in read only mode, could be the problem? If I uncheck it the setting doesn't save. [editline]24th July 2016[/editline] http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/1-1-0-5d33-mod-cant-see-mods-in-mod-menu-on-startup.958148/page-3#post-21609985 Ah, there seems to be a problem that steam isn't copying the files to the documents folder. They are downloading, but are staying in the steam folder.
You know what's really fucking annoying about Gibraltar? It might have just been my game, but I literally could not launch a naval invasion of it from the Atlantic. Like, any time I tried, even though the arrow displayed relatively properly the plan would complain as though it were sailing all the way around Africa, presumably because the Gibraltar province only borders the sea zone of the med. Had to send submarines though just to get the necessary intel level to launch from Italy, pain in the ass.
I fixed my workshop problem, the latest Steam Client Beta breaks it some how, and it won't copy workshop mods to the documents folder. If you're having Workshop problems, opt out of Steam Client Betas.
As someone who's enjoyed CK2 and will probably get Stellaris once there's more content available for it, is HoI4 worth getting? Never played the previous installments and CK2 is otherwise the first strategy I've played in years, but HoI4 has a certain allure tempting me over. Looks kinda fun.

Is it possible to move into the Cold War era?
1933-1948, although it can go on for longer

It's got it's issues, dog shit AI, starts to chug by 1945, borderline unplayable past 1950, plus coming from EUIV I felt it was a little threadbare on content and lacked some of the depth of other PDX titles. Despite this, I've still somehow managed to squeeze 200 hours out of it.
